He went through many rounds of physical therapy and had monthly adjustments with our longtime Chiropractor, but upon each reevaluation, his curve kept getting worse. He went from having a 19 degree curve to a 32 degree curve within 10 months. At that point, a back brace was suggested. After much research and a 2nd opinion from a Cleveland Clinic doctor, I found out that a back brace has only about a 30% chance of stopping the curve progression, but can also lead to more problems such as muscle atrophy and lung issues.While searching through videos about scoliosis on YouTube, I read a comment that said, “An Upper Cervical Chiropractor is the only doctor that helped me with scoliosis.” We then scheduled a meeting with Dr. Perkins in late November of 2024, and started treatment right away. Such a friendly and caring staff. I've been going to a chiropractor since I was in middle school. It would always help but never fully felt like I was all the way adjusted. I was also diagnosed with vestibular migraines and my vertigo has got out of hand but coming across an article about upper cervical chiropractors I figured I'd give it a shot since I've tried everything else already. I was wearing prism glasses to help with my vertigo but I have now been off them for 4 days with no issues. My constant lower back and rib pain has gone down significantly. It blows my mind I haven't had a thrown out back since I'm not getting twisted and cracked like I was before. If I had gone longer than three weeks without a chiropractor visit I'd be in bed from my back but with cervical chiropractic I haven't had any issues with it. I heard about Chiropractors who practiced a different type of treatment, so I thought I would try. I couldn't see how just adjusting the first 2 vertebra would affect my low back, but tried any way. It took a little time for my body to adjust, but my low back pain was gone in 6 months and hasn't returned in 3 years. I only see Dr Perkins every couple of months or it I'm having pain. I'm quickly learning that any arm, leg or head pain probably means I need an adjustment and always feel better before I even leave the office. I would never go back to the old chiropractic ways.
