I was having shooting pains down my groin like lightening….twas not fun. I am a fit person/always have been. I lifted weights for years and have always maintained some form of physical fitness and continued to stay active. However my lower back pain was at an all time high, and at this point I was struggling to even roll over in bed at night. For a 36 year old, that’s humiliating. I had also just found out I was pregnant at the time. Dr. Khristian was amazing. We focused on the pain issues at first. She let me know that she also did birth prep which was amazing because I wanted to have a natural birth at home and knew I needed all the help I could get. Long story short, I miscarried my baby due to other health issues and after a pretty scarey hospital stay, I knew my pelvis would need more healing ❤️🩹. After a little break to heal from surgery, I got back in with Dr. Khristian. We started doing pelvic floor therapy, along with treating my lower back/hip pain. I can happily say my lower back/hip has drastically improved. Not zero pain, there’s still more work to do (on my part.) But I feel confident moving forward with all of the movements, stretches, and exercises she’s shown me. It has made a massive difference in my day to day life. Cam was able to work 1-on-1 with me and figure out what was going on with my back injury that was going on for years. He met me where I was at and was very detailed in the exercises he provided, giving specific ones as a warmup, cool down, mobility, the whole 9 yards. I always walked out feeling better than I came in.

I have been seeing Dr. Khristian McGinley since I was two months post partum after my second cesarían. I had a 3.5 diastasis separation. She has helped me strengthen my core and significantly reduce my back pain. My appointment days are like a pampering self care day! I went to CMPT for knee pain. Cameron did a thorough assessment and it turns out the issue wasn’t in my knee, but in my glute. We worked on my tight glute muscle that was pulling on my knee for just a few days and I no longer have knee pain! I thought I was simply susceptible to hip rotation and only needed an adjustment; Michelle sought to understand why. After detailed testing and analysis Michelle determined I actually had a weak set of lower back muscles. Michelle showed, on an iPad, where the weak muscles were and explained why those muscles being weak affected my performance. Michelle prescribed a specific recovery plan, taught exercises to strengthen the deep lower back muscles, and ensured I was performing those exercises correctly. My back’s range of motion was significantly better at the end of the first session! Now I do all of the movements without worry and give whatever lift my absolute max effort, worry free. I haven’t had a lower back problem in months and my numbers are going up! After addressing a shoulder-neck problem I had had for months, Michelle wanted a go at my knee. I didn’t think anything could be done for the knee. I had already seen the same sports medicine doctors, physical therapists, and chiropractors as professional athletes and was resigned to wear either a knee brace or sports tape for the rest of my life. If I went grocery shopping without knee support, the next day my knee would be in pain. If I did snatches, cleans, or squats, the next day my knee would feel like giving way and sometimes would completely lock up. The tape would pull out my leg hairs, cause irritation, and I would switch to the knee brace to give the skin on my leg a break. That knee brace gets hot something fierce in the Arizona summer! Michelle poked, prodded, and tested my knee every which way. She also tested other joint mobility throughout the entire leg, measuring angles and doing the detailed analysis they do at Continuous Motion Physical Therapy. Michelle determined the knee was actually fine but that there were other things causing the knee to do not-knee things. The exercises were shaky at first but after a few weeks there’s a noticeable improvement. In engineering and math for some conclusions we use “>>” instead of “>” to signify significantly greater than. The knee with Continuous Motion Physical Therapy >> the knee without Continuous Motion Physical Therapy. The knee is strong. I walk without tape, with confidence, and the knee doesn’t feel like giving way at all. I go grocery shopping, furniture shopping, heavy farmer’s carry 400m, and some CrossFit classes without sports tape or knee brace! For my two biggest problems I thought I knew what was going on when I really didn’t. I cannot thank Michelle and Continuous Motion Physical Therapy enough for all of the massive, positive, quality of life improvements! Less

At the time, I was extremely limited in my motion and used an iWalk Hands Free Crutch to get around. Easy to use but I felt like a pirate with a peg leg so I was anxious to start walking again. During our first meeting, Michelle set up a detailed customized plan with measurable goals to track ankle flexibility and strength. She measured the flexibility of the ankle motion in every direction, then tracked it over time. She gave me the necessary ankle exercises that strengthened me at the extremes of my range of motion. Gradually, over time, my dorsiflexion went from +4 to -65 on it's way to 70 (if you know you know). Through a regular written plan, supplemented with apps, videos, and recommended exercise tools, I'm happy to say that I'm nearly 100%. I'm back to hiking 8 to 9 miles at a time on difficult trails and, sometimes, the good ankle hurts before my repaired one so I'm taking that as a good sign. From my initial meeting with Michelle, I knew things were going to be different. The consultation was lengthy and detailed, the most thorough consult I've received from any healthcare provider. She explained, she not only wanted to help me with immediate pain relief, but also to understand what caused the tension headaches to begin with, and what I can do to prevent them in the future. In our sessions, she used multiple modalities of treatment, addressing the root of the problem. I was extremely impressed and deeply grateful for her attention and care to my movement and well-being. Two things also important to note: I was in my second trimester of pregnancy when I started to see Michelle. She knew a great deal about pregnancy and how that also related to my symptoms and treated my body with such respect and care. I also am an extremely active person and Michelle worked with me so that I could continue to exercise safely and healthfully throughout the pregnancy. She had me practice various movements in their office gym and helped me improve technique significantly. Before coming to see Cameron, I was dealing with back pain that was keeping me from being able to exercise and would limit my ability to stand for long periods of time. I had spent about a year and worked with 2 different Pt’s with no success. Each time I was told to limit my level of activity and wait for the pain to stop. I kept getting cookie cutter treatment plans that did not take my active lifestyle (yoga, lifting, hiking) and performance goals into consideration. That all changed when I started working with Cameron. He knew that being able to resume my favorite activities was just as important as treating my back pain. He conducted a thorough evaluation and determine that poor ankle mobility was the root cause of my pain. Cameron used various treatment (cupping, manipulation, dry needling) to address my back pain and prescribed rehab exercises that could easily be incorporated to my current workouts. They say 3 times a charm- this is now the 3rd time I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot. It feels like someone is jamming a hot poker in your heel and it sucks. Normally, the podiatrists I’ve seen had me get orthotics in my shoes, prescription of steroids and then the quick fix of a cortisone shot in my heel to make the pain go away. She told me its important to figure out why this is happening- instead of giving me a quick fix. I can't say enough good things about Michelle and Continuous Motion PT. I've worked with Michelle for the last two years. I first sought her out because of nagging lower back and hip pain that just wouldn't go away. I saw my general practitioner, 2 separate chiropractors, an acupuncturist, and a massage therapist - they couldn't find an issue in scans, and no treatment seemed to help for more than a day or so. Michelle's blend of strength and mobility exercises, dry needling, spinal manipulation, and soft tissue work *finally* led to improvements - and I was able to compete in my sport of triathlon that summer. She saved my season. Michelle worked her magic again after I injured my achilles and shoulder this season. This time, I went immediately to Michelle, and, yet again, she saved my triathlon season for the second year in a row. I went from barely being able to walk to running again within 3 weeks. There are a lot of things that Michelle and Cam do differently that make them so special and good at what they do.
