Please just take a moment to read this... I was in a bad accident 5 years ago and was told that I needed neck surgery. I was in a lot of pain and was pretty upset and freaked out about the whole thing. I spoke with some physicians that I work with, and they suggested I reach out to Dr. Blom before having anything done. Thankfully I did! Within a couple of treatments, I was back to baseline and after a couple of additional treatments I was feeling better than I did before my accident. Let me just say "NO surgery for me"!!! I can't even remember when my neck felt this good. It's been 5 years now and my neck still feels great. I still go in every once and a while just to keep myself healthy and on track. My treatments have taken care of any problem I've ever had with my spine, and I couldn't be more thankful. I have recommended him to many others and always get a BIG thank you. I was so excited to finally find a practice that I thought may be able to help with my vertigo symptoms caused by Chiari Malformation. However, when I went to schedule an appointment, I spent much time going back and forth in a text thread with someone who knew I work full time and could only schedule an in-person visit after 4pm (keep in mind, the website states that the facility is open until 6pm many days). I finally settled for what I thought was a phone consultation at 2 pm on a break I have in my work day (I am an elementary school teacher), only to find out that they assumed I was coming IN at 2 pm. Once I restated that I work until 3:30 each day, they said "Dr. Blom's availability does not aligh with your current schedule needs".WHAT? SO, I called. And, sure enough, the ONLY appointments for new patients from today until eternity are at 11 and 2. That's IT.So, if you work an actual job and hold specific hours, no luck getting in here.

Not all chiropractors are equal! A few things worth noting. 90% of people do not have a mirror image spine. Most imbalances in the body musculature is because of the neck. Any chiropractor that is not taking X-rays and then analyzing them before adjusting you, aka you go in take X-rays and come back another day for your first adjustment, is not doing a personalized adjustment. My entire family, when we go out of adjustment, goes out to the side and corkscrews slightly. We all get migraines or very bad headaches from this- including my cousin that lives in another country. Only a chiropractor that takes x-rays from all angles including from the top of the head and from up under would be able to see the corkscrew. So basically almost no other chiropractor would be able to help me or the other members of my family. What he does they do not teach in the USA in chiropractic schools anymore because it’s hard to learn. (ridiculous- but it is what it is) Dr. Blom and any chiropractor like him in order to learn these skills had to study under older chiropractors that have these skills. He has gone above and beyond to learn these techniques which benefits his patients. When we decided to move here I was really worried about finding an upper cervical chiropractor that would know how to adjust me. God provided!

If you’re unsure about pursuing Upper Cervical care, I promise you won’t regret it!I had been to several specialists and optometrists who could never do anything but explain my symptoms, offer rx or coping mechanisms. One unhelpful diagnosis I received was fibromyalgia. My migraines and strange vision issues worsened so much that I became uncomfortable driving at age 35. I would see tiny white flashing lights and had imprints in my vision. The optometrist had no clue. Out of sheer desperation, I turned to google. “Fibromyalgia Vision Problems.” This led me down a rabbit hole of upper cervical chiropractic care, which I had never heard of. The articles I read boasted tremendous results. “100% of fibromyalgia patients had relief of symptoms through upper cervical chiropractic!”My past experience with chiropractic was brutally painful and often made my symptoms worse. I hated having my neck “cracked.”I researched upper cervical chiro and I found Dr. Blöm was located about 4 hours from me. I called and, unlike all other healthcare providers, they scheduled me right away.I’ve been to some chiropractors who did some strange things. No weird mystical stuff; Dr. Blöm took xrays. My husband works in radiology and said he was impressed with the x-ray machine Dr. Blöm uses. It’s much more advanced than what hospitals topically use.Dr. Blöm knew immediately that I was having ocular migraines— something no other specialist was able to pinpoint! The xrays revealed my neck curved the wrong way, and secondly I had a rotation that shouldn’t have been there. (I had a surfing accident as a teen.) Dr. Blöm said, “This is a tricky case, but I think I can help you.” Those words still ring in my ears. No doctor has ever said that to me before!I received my first adjustment— which didn’t hurt. In March of 2025, I searched for an upper cervical chiropractor in Boise. I found Dr. Blöm on Google and after seeing the reviews and researching his techniques, I decided to give him a try. I appreciate that he has studied various types of chiropractic care and has combined different techniques and recommends exercises to assist in the healing and longevity of holding adjustments. He is extremely knowledgeable in nutrition as well.In Boise, I had previously seen two other chiropractors, one functional medicine doctor, and a regular MD all to no avail for my vertigo, headaches, brain fog, neck tension, back pain (physical therapy for one year), and fatigue.It has been roughly four months, and my symptoms continue to improve to the point that I can enjoy physical activities several times a week as opposed to one day a week. Now I'm not from Boise, however, I needed an opinion from someone who was high up in their field and Dr. Blom came across my desk during my research. I asked his office for some help and they absolutely delivered in spades. UPDATE: I’ve been working with Dr. Blom at Upper Cervical Health Centers of Boise for several years and continue to appreciate his in-depth understanding and application of the chiropractic sciences. I am so grateful for Dr. Blom! I suffered several injuries from cheerleading and gymnastics at a young age. I was seen by many different chiropractors and doctors throughout my life yet I never seemed to be getting out of pain. I even had a herniated disc in my neck 10 years ago and it caused me to have to quit my job as a dental hygienist. It wasn't until I met Dr. Blom that I felt I got my life back. I can now enjoy my hobbies pain free, and fortunately I can continue to work my job as a hygienist without pain. His approach is very different from any chiropractor I have ever seen before. He doesn't do the typical popping and cracking up and down the spine. It is a very gentle “nudge” at the top of the neck. He is very meticulous, precise and detailed with his measurements in order to get the adjustment correct. Dr Blom is incredibly knowledgeable and well read. I would easily refer him to any family member or friend, and I do!

Migraines,Vertigo, Sinus Headaches, neck and jaw pain, hip pain plagued me for years.Numerous therapies, medications and treatment had failed to give relief. Working with Dr. Blom gave me back my life… I waited to get started with him when it was almost too late. I’m 71. When I was 27 I was in a car accident bad enough to give me a concussion, lifelong neck pain and years of severe migraines. I worked with regular chiropractors for over 40 years. My most previous regular chiropractor urged me to see an upper cervical chiropractor and recommended Dr. Blom. I resisted because treatment requires x-rays. Then one morning I leaned my head back to add eye drops to my dry eyes and I was suddenly in severe vertigo, which went on for five hours. The world was spinning, I was throwing up, experiencing hot flashes, chills, and diarrhea. Initial suspicion was BPPV, but tests were negative. I made an appt the same day with Dr. Blom. He took X-rays, noted data, and studied my neck vertebra over the weekend. On Monday I came in for my first adjustment. I initially worked with Dr. Blom twice a week. I could not drive because vertigo was random. After three months I was able to go two weeks between adjustments. Within four months I was able to hold an adjustment for 4 to 5 weeks. We were able to return to our retirement plans of traveling in remote backcountry desert for months at a time. We would return to Boise once a month for an adjustment when the vertigo returned. I haven’t experienced severe vertigo for 6 months now. These days the indicators are neck or shoulder pain, and mild dizziness. Last spring my husband and I went to New Zealand for 2.5 months. I did need an adjustment 5 weeks in and Dr. Blom helped me find an upper cervical chiropractor while we were traveling (Dr. Karyn Brent near Christchurch). Early this summer I fell and jammed my neck, the last time I experienced severe vertigo, and had to find an upper cervical chiropractor in Portland, Oregon. That did not go well and we had to return to Boise to be adjusted by Dr. Blom. It made me realize how very, very lucky I was to have found him!To anyone pondering whether or not to start this kind of chiropractic work, I urge you not to hesitate any longer. If I had started years ago when I was first referred my neck would never have gotten to the unstable condition that it did. I feel very fortunate to have a life to live again, because it sure didn’t seem like it 1.5 years ago. This type of chiropractic is extremely gentle. There’s no “cracking” happening. It’s literally like the touch of a feather and at first I was skeptical that something that gentle could work. Not anymore… I have a life again.

I have suffered from vertigo for over 12 years. It started out with mild bouts once in a while but progressed to full-blown debilitating attacks several times a year where I would vomit and couldn't walk, even with help. I woke up nauseous every day and it would take hours of moving around before it subsided. I tried physical therapy, motion-sickness drugs, and positioning maneuvers. Chiropractic care helped a bit temporarily but nothing resolved the issue. After doing some research, I read about upper cervical care and this led me to Dr. Blom. He explained the reasons for the vertigo and the treatment method he uses. I will admit that I was very skeptical at first. I've been seeing him for several months now and I can't believe the difference! I no longer wake up nauseous and I have not had a single full-blown vertigo attack since my first visit.
