Air Secretary fits my needs perfectly as a sole practitioner (combined with sessional room rental). Technology has now matured to a level where payments/referrals/results/queries/ prescriptions etc. are all able to be conducted remotely (I use Xestro which I also recommend). Air Secretary also provides sick leave / holiday cover for essential functions (eg. answering the phone / taking payments) which allows my practice to function even when my receptionist is away. This was made possible by cross training with other staff within the office (in the most recent instance, the office supervisor steppted in). This is incredibly useful, as it means I do not need to employ extra staff to cover contingencies. The process of recruitment was seamless. I joined a Zoom call where 6 candidates were interviewed (with my having being provided with their CV's prior). All candidates were of excellent quality, all being degree qualified and proficient in English. (I understand Air Secretary's are paid above market rate to make working for Air Secretary quite desireable and improve staff retention). After recruitment, my receptionist underwent 1 month of structured training including medical terminology/ practice management / customer service management, after which she really hit the ground running. I did take extra time for specific instruction in how I like to do things, especially in the first month, but in general the process was very easy, even for someone like me without managerial experience.
