Called late on a Saturday afternoon/early evening for a leaking main shutoff valve. They answered promptly, took our info, and then had someone to our house all in less than 30 minutes. As a comparison, it took over 24 hours for another "emergency plumber", who we called first, to even call us back. Our problem turned out to be a very easy repair that I should have known how to do myself, but that's my fault not theirs. Also can't fault them for the repair cost because they told us upfront what the after-hours/weekend emergency "show up" rate was. They've come to my house several times to do upgrades and repairs, but there are two instances worth mentioning: When I moved to a new house with a sump pump, they took the time to come over and explain how it worked and what I needed to keep an eye on. I had my main water pipe break over the weekend. Hicks Plumbing responded within a half hour of my request for service. They helped me secure the main water valve and research what needed to be done to repair the break. They showed up the next morning and began work right away. There were able to replace the entire main pipe from the cut off valve all the way to my basement and into my home quickly and with minimal additional damage to my home. There fast response definitely minimized my basement damage. There were able to pull the permit from the county, get it repaired, and inspected all within 24 hours, especially over a weekend. I am very happy with Hick's Plumbing Services. The owner came on time and unclogged a main sewer clog that was more than 100 ft from the house drain. A bit pricey but it's worth every penny as it's a tough job my regular plumber, who was unavailable for medical reasons, wouldn't be able to do as he doesn't the long snake camera that actually pushed the clog thru that was about 125ft from house drain.
