The scheduling assistant convinced me to have a service call instead of trying to install parts myself. She was polite, not pushy and attentive to my scheduling needs. Tech called that afternoon and wanted to come the same day to assess. I declined due to scheduling. 2 days later he had parts and I could meet him. He was running late and kindly let me know. Very commendable. The front panel and control panel have been off for a week. He determined the part I suggested was not the problem. I'd also asked for a general maintenance belt change. He said there was no point because it was the transmission. He then said the transmission is discontinued. I was distraught but tried very hard not to show it. He asked if he could help as I began disassembly. I then asked for help removing the tub. He declined. I thanked him for his time and asked him to put the old belt back on. He told me he cut it. He had the new one, but it would be $49 plus the service fee. I declined. I wanted to pay in cash and avoid the 4% card fee. He had no change and kindly accepted $80. He left but didn't leave a receipt. I stopped by the shop today and spoke with the scheduling assistant, belt in hand. I wanted to pay the remaining $5. She politely declined. She took a picture and some notes and said she'd pass it on to the owner. She was very pleasant. Mr. Boone and I connected this evening. Admirably, Mr. Boone defended the actions of his tech but he could not seem to understand the machine is in worse condition than it was before the service call. I spent a good amount of time last night removing the agitator and not really having the strength to do it myself, my back is very sore and I have a nasty scrape down the back of my arm. Mr. Boone told me he was offended by this review. It originally stated when I went to their website after the service call, it said they sell refurbished appliances. Each time Mr. Boone asked me a question as I was answering, he spoke over me. He questioned my faith based on my voicemail. He offered to sell me a refurbished machine at a discount and alternatively offered that his tech wanted to pay for a new belt himself. Offers contingent on me removing review and reinstalling the agitator myself first. He then explained that his tech is well trained and knows if the transmission is bad and no longer available or if it would be cost prohibitive to pay for a part plus labor, then the tech will decline further service. Explains why the tech didn't want to assist me in removing the tub. Mr. Boone suggested that I was trying to get free labor from his tech and perhaps my intent was to have the machine taken apart so I could then call another service to make the repair. My review in its original form suggested that the new service of selling refurbished appliances seemed suspicious. In my distress last night, I guess I imagined the tech may have offered to dispose of this one for me. And then actually seeing refurbished appliances sales on the website had me thinking situations like this might be where Mr. Boone obtains appliances to refurbish. I am not a tech. I am piecing together how to follow the schematics and consult the Internet for better visual instruction. If I can determine that a washing machine with a dead transmission WILL still spin, I will swiftly remove this review and write an apology both in place of the review and with a hand written letter. Mr. Boone did not allow me to ask that question. My children who are away calIed three times while I was speaking to Mr. Boone. He seemed irritated that I didn't immediately agree to his terms. I told him I'd pray about it. I abruptly ended the call when my kids called a forth time. Bottom line: Boone Appliance has very polite employees but, my machine is in worse condition than before the service call. I ran the spin cycle yesterday morning. I can't do that now. Less

Each time we have needed repair services, Boone's staff has responded promptly and they are well trained to identify and fix the issue. Recently Ryan had our 16 year old refrigerator working smoothly again. We were ready to give up on it, but now it is working great. We cannot recommend them highly enough.

After further research we learned the new replacement downdraft GE cooktop being sold had been discontinued by GE and even replacement parts for it were no longer available. Over the years we have had a number of appliances serviced by Boone Appliance and decided it was worth a shot to take the Cooktop Module to Boone Appliance to see if it could possibly be repaired. Emailed Boone Appliance about a new bake element for my obscure 50 yr old Kenmore range. They not only had a compatible part in stock but also had a tech out here the next day. Relative had them come out to work on a refrigerator issue. Resolved one small quick fix issue but was not knowledgeable enough to repair main issue which is a well known occurrence with the specific make and model but charged a lot of $ for work done… I would suggest Dickso Appliance in Anderson they have been around for years and can repair it ALL.

Set up an appointment over a week in advance. Repairman (Troy I assume) showed up over an hour late. He looked at our washer and said "This is going to take a lot of time to figure out. I'm not interested!" I was flabbergasted. He took his tools and left. In 50 years of adult life, I've never had a service person walk out and show zero concern for me as a customer.
