Our GE Downdraft Cooktop Module, both elements just quite working, both at the same time. After contacting numerous appliance parts businesses, it was learned given the age of the GE Cooktop all parts were discontinued and no longer available. We priced a new GE downdraft cooktop at a number of appliance stores and a replacement was going to cost $2554.00 plus tax. After further research we learned the new replacement downdraft GE cooktop being sold had been discontinued by GE and even replacement parts for it were no longer available. Over the years we have had a number of appliances serviced by Boone Appliance and decided it was worth a shot to take the Cooktop Module to Boone Appliance to see if it could possibly be repaired. Emailed Boone Appliance about a new bake element for my obscure 50 yr old Kenmore range. They not only had a compatible part in stock but also had a tech out here the next day. Relative had them come out to work on a refrigerator issue. Resolved one small quick fix issue but was not knowledgeable enough to repair main issue which is a well known occurrence with the specific make and model but charged a lot of $ for work done… I would suggest Dickso Appliance in Anderson they have been around for years and can repair it ALL.

The technician came, unscrewed the back panel, and made a call to someone, trying to make precise evaluation this time of what could be the reason. He finally figured out and offered to order the part and install it, which would cost me almost $400! Screw that... I checked the part online and found it twice cheaper.. I finally called Boone and was greeted by a very nice, helpful lady. i gave her the part number and her computer said they did not have it, however she offered to go look manually! i was shocked that she took the extra time to really help me! she came back on the phone and said she had one! i paid for the part right then and picked it up that afternoon. my washer was fixed that evening and it was all due to this lady doing more than she was required to! i highly reccommend this company! Set up an appointment over a week in advance. Repairman (Troy I assume) showed up over an hour late. He looked at our washer and said "This is going to take a lot of time to figure out. I'm not interested!" I was flabbergasted. He took his tools and left. In 50 years of adult life, I've never had a service person walk out and show zero concern for me as a customer.
