When I first met Dr. Sweeney, my mouth was incapable of opening wide enough to accommodate a grape. Every morning, I awoke with severe jaw pain and most mornings, that pain was accompanied by an inability to initially open my mouth. I had battled jaw pain since my 20s as well as intense left eye pain that ultimately led to a “glaucoma suspect” diagnosis in my 40s. My second visit with Dr. Sweeney included a CBCT scan to evaluate the TMJs, which revealed a jaw injury caused by an auto accident when I was 18 (then 33 years ago). Dr. Sweeney changed my life. At 16 years old I was experiencing chronic back and neck pain along with debilitating migraines 2-3 times a week.
