I have been a member for over 4 years on and off now. The gym is very well equipped and the staff is friendly and helpful. I also recommend the gym for CrossFitters as there is a rack area with pull-up bars, etc. and a sledge push-pull area.

Nicely equipped gym. Lovely staff and instructors. Never really felt intimidated by my ability of only lifting 15kg when everyone else around you is lifting 100… always super friendly and nice.

Firstly I'd like to say the staff and the equipment are top level. By far the best gym in Edinburgh. However, half of the times I arrive the male toilets are left in a disgusting state and half of the ""powerlifters"" don't bother to wash their hands.

I’ve been a member here for 2.5+ years, and I’ve never had a negative experience to report. They have a great set of equipment, the space has a fantastic atmosphere, and the staff + members have always been welcoming and supportive. I will continue to recommend Lift to any and all friends in the area. The only notable problem (if you could class it as a problem) is the lack of specified parking. I spent a few months living on the other side of town so couldn’t walk as normal. This is unfortunately out of their control. This gym offers a wide variety of equipment and weights. The staff is very friendly and incredibly helpful, as are the fellow members. It's clean and provides plenty of space for diverse workouts.

Cheap no name brand machines and cable machines that don’t work half of the time. Poorly maintained and the staff doesn’t even know the starting resistance of the machines. Overrated gym and overpriced (£50) in my opinion. Good if you need 50 racks though

A very well equipped gym. However, parts of the ceiling downstairs are covered in MOULD. One or two squirts of Cilit bang and the problem would be solved! 5 stars once that is dealt with.

This is a very lovely gym. The staff are very friendly, there are always at least 2 of them around. It has two floors with plenty of machines and weights. It has an area for yoga style excercises. It has respectful, local and friendly atmosphere. It's not as big as some chain gyms, but the care I get and the feeling of "this is my gym" makes it superior.

Easily The Best Gym In Edinburgh.

As the name suggests their is focus is on lifting. Extremely well equipped in this regard. Handful of Wattbikes and C2 rowers.

Highly recommended for students to enroll into LIFT gym as you can book unlimited amount of sessions. The gym is nicely renovated with a lot of gym equipments and there is an app online which makes it so much easier to access into your bookings. Not to mention the staffs there are super nice and helpful. Absolutely perfect!

Amazing gym suitable for crossfit, powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting as well as general fitness. In particular they have dedicated Olympic lifting platforms with Zhangkong bumper plates, and both IWF certified training and competition bars. Nice and quiet so plenty of equipment available

This gym is the best spot for powerlifting and generally for those who aren't much interested in cardio. Plenty of free weights and racks make it the powerlifting mecca of Edinburgh. Unfortunately, this doesn't justify the rise in prices. Also, customers would expect a bit more engagement and assistance, having the gym experienced staff on shift (who sadly seems disinterested).

Well equipped powerlifting focused gym

Best place for some serious strength training. Plenty of racks which means you're rarely waiting in line and very friendly staff. Great price with a decent selection of classes for both strength and HIIT as well. Very good covid measures in place as well. Not recommended for the casual or beginner but a great facility for those looking to up their game.

Am going to this gym for last 3 days. They are following all covid 19 protection standards, each and every members should clean the machines and things after the use for that gym is providing a cloth and sanitizing agent.

It’s a very well run gym that’s always looking at what they can do for the members which can’t always be said about gyms, so it’s refreshing. The staff offer some brilliant advice if you ask, since I’ve been a member my training has massively benefited from this, from small things like tweaks on my form to exercises to improve mobility after an injury. I'm really glad I chose this gym. Thought it would be a bit too hard-core for me but was quite the opposite in that it is really welcoming and a friendly place to be with no pressure. Great local business and happy its around.

Loads of lifting equipment, enough cardio equipment, staff are really nice. They've also done really well in terms of COVID safety.

Very well set up gym. Clean, tidy and brilliantly equipped. Post COVID-19 booking a time slot has been easy enough and everyone screws the nut with cleaning up after themselves. Excellent place, staff and people!

This is by far one of the best gyms I have ever been in and a great addition to Edinburgh. The fact that you can train in a facility that is kitted out for athletes and feel extremely welcome is amazing. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking a friendly gym to check it out.

Had a great session with Clayton Sports Therapy to help with recovery from a rugby injury. Rachael was very knowledgeable and professional, took time to understand the injury before she started the session and even gave me a rough estimate for returning to play. Highly recommended!

This is THE best gym I have EVER been to. It is massive! Over 2 floors with LOADS of equipment, racks as far as the eye can see, so many weights and different types of bars/gym toys etc. Lots of mirror, good classes, small area to get pre prepared food or they can make you a shake. Friendly and welcoming staff. So impressed, it’s such a delight to train here.

Gym itself is absolutely fantastic. Amazing equipment, most of the staff are very helpful and friendly. Had a bad experience with one of the personal trainers, hence the 4 stars. Other than that, brilliant gym!

By far the best gym in Edinburgh. The staff are all superb and never mind helping you out if you need it. The atmosphere is great and every member is respectful of other members. It’s nice to find a gym where people go to train hard rather than scroll hard. 10/10

Came for the 12 days of Christmas deal, which was good. Could do with more space and random bits of equipment which would be decent

Excellent lifting gym. Friendly staff and high quality equipment. A lot of squat racks (upstairs and in the basement) meaning you shouldn't struggle to get on to do your routine. Also encouraging to see quite a high proportion of women lifting in this gym. Temperature regulation in the showers would be good but doesn't take anything away from how good this place is.

It's not the usual gym,the focus is on powerlifting,with a bit of strongmen training (yoke and farmers walk). But it has a decent Bodybuilding department in the "vault" (my description 😉) with a lot of equipment including dumbbells up to 100 kg !!!! Unfortunately i don't live in Edinburgh,otherwise i would become a member instantly 👍💪😃

LIFT is definitely something special. After watching it grow you can really appreciate the work that has been put in as soon as you step through the door. Attending their seminar today was excellent. Great content and delivery from all the coaches. The next seminar is in January, don’t miss out on a fantastic opportunity to experience what LIFT gym is all about.

LIFT is the best gym in Edinburgh by a long way, in my opinion. The quality and quantity of the strength equipment in particular is world class and the attention to detail is superb. I think the best thing, though, is the staff, who are knowledgeable, passionate and friendly and go out of their way to look after all members.
