Joining BBB Waterloo has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Just completed the first 12 weeks and have lost 5kg and 5% body fat. Ben has been an awesome (and very patient) PT. The programed classes are always interesting and fun and I'm enjoying working out for the first time in a long time. Great gym, great community, and lots of fun :)... More

Body by Brando is the real deal! I walked in feeling pretty average, but the coaches gave me the confidence to feel like a superhero. I’ve become a lean, mean lifting machine (okay, not mean, but definitely less potato-y). The workouts are challenging, but all the coaches are incredibly supportive and motivating, and the community is friendly as. I never thought I'd enjoy learning compound lifts and doing burpees, but this place has converted me. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to feel strong, confident, and ready to be at their best no matter their starting point. Special shout out to Isaac who has been the bee’s knees. His knowledge, energy, and ability to make complex movements easy to do has been my ticket to success in reaching my fitness goals. She has an organised log of my progress and checks in with me often, showing she has genuine concern that I reach my goals! She even goes above and beyond by giving me quick EMOM workouts to keep me active on days I am on vacation. With group classes, the coaches would always give scaling options for everyone so I still always felt included even if I'm just starting out. The workouts themselves are challenging, and the whole experience of booking them is very easy with the app provided! On top of the in-person sessions at the gym, BBB also has a ton of reliable fitness / nutrition resources for reference! Appreciate the emails with fitness tidbits once in a while. Keeps me on my toes and keeps my goals top-of-mind! BBB is such a supportive and knowledgeable community to be around in my fitness journey! My favourite home away from home. Extremely high level of education and clever programming from a bunch of friendly and welcoming trainers. I love spending time at BBB before and after class as there's such a strong community vibe. Also there is no pretentiousness, everyone there is supportive and willing to help you succeed in your goals. A key shoutout to Jen who is one of the best trainers I have ever worked with. In only three short months she has worked miracles. She has taken a holistic approach to my sessions understanding the need for good physical and mental health. She quickly built up a strong rapport with me keeping me accountable while at the same time being supportive and understanding. Her workouts are fun and brutal, two words that shouldn’t go together but somehow it works. She’s a pocket rocket who brings it every time to motivate you, be it in a class or one on one session, and help you to keep challenging yourself and improving. With a heart of gold this ‘snatch queen’ is helping me turn my life around for the better and I couldn’t be more thankful. If you are even considering it slightly, just do it, you’ll have no regrets. Aspects such as mobility have never been a great focus of mine, but I feel I have a greater understanding of the importance and a new found interest in improving it along with other key fundamentals. The trainers are all very knowledgeable, and really want to see you improve. They genuinely see your success as their success. Prior to joining, I was intimidated by some of the skills. However, the trainers are well versed at scaling to ensure you still have a stimulating workout while progressing towards mastering the skill. During lockdown I had the pleasure of PT with Ash and it was really a leap forward for me in developing some skills I was struggling to nail. Ash is great at pushing you to reach your full potential while also correcting any mistakes she sees in form by explaining it in easy to understand ways. Overall, I’m glad I’ve joined BBB and glad to be a part of a great community. I feel like I’ve come a long way since joining and honestly I just enjoy the process. Dan at Waterloo took me through an introductory program to learn all the lifts, techniques and exercises that they write into WOD sessions. This was fantastic, as it really set the foundations for me to start my first class the following week. On top of all this, Dan asked me about my goals and assigned a calorie plan to support me achieving my targets. I've been fairly consistent with daily calorie target, and in week 6, I'm officially at my exact weight target.It's fair to say, they really know what they're doing! It's clear that the whole process has been really well thought out, as it supports people like me, who've never trained cross fit style before, to excel quickly. Thanks to the coaches and 'gym goers alike' at Waterloo for making the sessions fun, interactive and challenging. It is no small thing to develop complex skills at a relatively rapid pace (particularly as a *slightly more mature* person) but the structure of the training, and professionalism of people like Brady, make incredible things happen before you even notice and more than you thought you ever could. Most remarkably I’ve been able to get to be the fittest and strongest I’ve ever been without injury - which no gym experience has ever managed before. The scaling options mean you can go at your own pace but the challenging nature of the classes, and supervision of the Coaches, will inevitably get you to push yourself to get stronger and better. The best thing I’ve done for both my physical and mental health! Over the past 6 months, Brando and team have completely changed my perspective and approach to exercise and fitness. Now I can’t wait to get up every morning so that I can go to class. I feel stronger, fitter, more flexible and more confident than ever before. I genuinely never thought I had the body type to be lifting more than my body weight! All this while having a laugh with my new mates. I was a bit nervous about going to a gym that does focus a lot on weightlifting but this place is the complete opposite to the stereotype. I did have one primary issue with Ignite. They need to clarify their "Free Trial" on the website. My wife and I signed up for the trial online, but when we arrived, we were told that the trial was only for those with the intent of signing up for a long-term membership. **It says nothing of the sort on the website** and the coach there agreed. No comp pass, no offer whatsoever to make this right, however, despite the oversight. The head coach said he tried to reach out, but couldn't bc I have a US mobile number. Last O checked, you can call/text US numbers from here. We also provided email addresses so there's that. My wife and I traveled quite a way to get there in the rain, so that was disappointing. Related, they should be clearer about what you're signing up for in the free trial. They have pre-determined slots for trial folks, which is fine. I get it. Problem is that the slot we went to was an open gym; and we preferred an actual group class. Another nit - We were told that their head coach would contact us after we signed up online. Nada. So all in all, an ok box. Definitely not the best in Sydney IMHO. However, if you're more into individual programs, this might be a good fit for you. Less

I am well advanced in years and have had many gym experiences over my lifetime. I can say categorically without hesitation CrossFit Ignite is the best gym I have ever belonged to. These are the reasons. 1. Professionalism - all the trainers I have observed have a sound knowledge and wide experience in health and fitness and the paths to achieving individual bests. 2. Commitment and individualised attention. This is a gym where the trainers work, in mean really work, to help you achieve and further develop your potential and to reach your goals - whatever they may be. Over these 8 years I have seen trainers come and go and some who have been here as long as I have. I can assure you that Darren, the owner, keeps a very close eye on his trainers and those that don't reach the standards he requires don't last too long. That is good news for the clients. 3. Inclusion. This is a gym for all regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, body type, or your personal goals. There are the elite athletes, there are the plodders, there are those that just want to maintain what they already have, there are those who want to bulk up, those that want to lose weight. All are welcome and the trainers will help you to achieve whatever it is you personally set as your goals. There are the fat and the thin, the muscles and not so muscles.... As someone advanced in years I have never felt any sidelining because of my age. People go to this gym not to show off or look at others (well sometimes!!!) and I've never felt judged by others. 4. Personal training. If you take out a membership you will be very well looked after by the floor trainers and there is an excellent staff to client ratio. If you want something more, or you think you need some individual attention or personal motivation then I can highly recommend investing in personal training which is one on one. For the last nearly eight years I have generally had three sessions a week each with a personal trainer. Without doubt, for me, I would not have seen the distance without the expertise, caring, and counselling of my trainer PJ. Last year I had a bit of a "gym crisis" and thought it was time to give up. Through PJ's skills and engagement he has re-motivated me and with my new program I really look forward to each and every PT with him. And I'm pleased to say I'm more than ever motivated to achieve the goals that he and I set together. I have only the deepest respect for the team at this gym. If you're thinking of a gym membership check this one out. A bit more expensive, yes, but believe me you get excellent value. Less

I've only been a member of CrossFit Ignite Sydney for a short time (approximately 2 months) but really feel like I've been training there for years. When you first sign up you are given a trial run where a trainer puts you through your paces, mainly to find out your flexibility, body mechanics and overall fitness level. You then have a sit down with a trainer who works with you to identify what your ultimate goal is; your reason for going to CrossFit Ignite. Without a goal you are rudderless and this is one aspect of Ignite that really sets itself apart from other so called gyms. Here client’s health and wellbeing is number one. After your consult you are setup with a folder containing your customised sessions, recording each weight and rep amount. I am certain that if CrossFit Ignite had a theme song it would be the Cheers theme song: 'Where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came'. The friendliness of the trainers is only out-weighed by their knowledge of all things fitness, be it the correct techniques right through to making sure you are eating properly and sleeping soundly. Every trainer I have trained with so far has been very personable and even if they are not directly watching me I know they are keeping an eye on me, making sure my intensity is at the level it should be. The overall cleanliness of the gym is excellent, something I'm sure the staff pride themselves on. On site there is a men and women's change room, complete with lockers and showers. Ignite also offer small sweat towels for when you're working out and large towels for after a shower, both washed by Ignite trainers. If CrossFit Ignite is within your workout radius I would certainly give it a look in. A highly recommended gym with an all-encompassing fitness regime. Less

Appearance of. - The personalised program: i've seen it compared to Personal Training on their website, but i wouldn't. i feel like there is a depth of knowledge & experience behind what i'm getting from Ignite.. that you wouldn't get from a PT alone. - I like the holistic view. Its not exercise, its an all encompassing healthy lifestyle . Being a 'better human' as they put it. - Most of all, I like the fact that i can feel & see changes in my body almost immediately. Bang. Poor Laura had to practically council me through joining. I disconnected Foxtel & sacrificed a few other things to afford it, but no looking back now. Foxtel can smoke me. These guys are way better. I became a member of Cross Fit Ignite in July 2012. At that time I had been a member of another gym for 23 consecutive years. It was a good gym that I would never leave and prior to joining it I had been a member of two other gyms but mistakenly believed as my long term membership demonstrates that I was at the best facility in Sydney. In November 2011 a friend located and joined Cross Fit Ignite and from her first visit she couldn't speak highly enough of the training methods she encountered and in particular she spoke of the professional way in which Ignite was run and the level of knowledge and motivation that all the instructors provided. On many occasions she encouraged me to visit Cross Fit Ignite and change gyms however after 23 years that wasn't likely. As time past by I noticed significant changes in my friend with weight loss, more defined muscle mass and most significantly a stronger and more positive mental attitude with a real " can do " approach not only to her training but life in general. I had reservations however she attributed these changes to Cross Fit Ignite and needless to say although I was more than sceptical I couldn't ignore the changes I had seen over an 8 month period and decided to take advantage of one of the free introductory sessions as she suggested. It took one visit only for me to identify first what I had been missing for so many years and secondly what a wealth of knowledge and experience Cross Fit Ignite could offer not only in a motivational way but in a way that demonstrated a genuine commitment to the self improvement of those that were fortunate enough to have become members. My first impression which of course was aided by the significant progress my friend had made lead me to abandon 5 remaining months of paid membership at my former gym and join Cross Fit Ignite. I can now speak first hand about the benefits of Cross Fit Ignite and have no hesitation in confirming as my friend told me that her wide ranging changes both in fitness and mental strength were attributable to Cross Fit Ignite and after being a member now for over a year I am still amazed at the consistent level of supportive and motivational guidance that all the instructors provide within what is a truly unique and special environment. At the conclusion of my first 12 months I forwarded a " thank you " email to the management and instructors and within it I stated that " I regarded Cross Fit Ignite as an Extraordinary place for Ordinary people. " On reflection I should also have said that many of the long term members who were no doubt " ordinary " when they joined can now properly be regarded as having reached an extraordinary level of fitness but this should not be interpreted to mean that Ignite does not cater for all levels of fitness. From my experience it is simply about helping and encouraging you to become the best you can become within sensible and safe boundaries. I should conclude by negating an unfortunate myth that seems to surround the cross fit method of training in that many people seem to believe that it's too demanding and reserved only for those that have the benefit of youth on their side. I will turn 70 on my next birthday and with some authority believe I can state that the myth is inconsistent with the facts at least at Cross Fit Ignite and whatever your age if you are serious about maintaining life long health, strength, fitness, mobility and an enhanced mental attitude you should now know where you should be. Without reservation, I can attest that CrossFit Ignite Sydney is the best gym I have ever attended. Why? It is the absolute professionalism and caring of the staff. Never once have I ever felt I was a cash cow and a number. Every member of the team has treated me as an individual with specific needs to further my goals. My trainer over this time has been PJ and we have formed an exceptional professional relationship. Every aspect of my training has been diligently attended to: the individualised programs, the counselling, the diet, the motivation, the enjoyment, and even the thrill of being able to achieve things that I thought were impossible at my age. I would say this gym is unique. There is a great mixture of age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity and so on, yet everyone gets on well and you can be as private or as social as you like provided you get on with your program. For those without a personal trainer I have noticed how diligent the floor trainers are in keeping an eye on everyone and correcting and fine tuning the work of those on the floor. For me personally, having a personal trainer for each session takes care of any reluctance to push myself to my best, and overcomes any excuses for not turning up if I'm feeling like a sleep in. All my sessions are scheduled months in advance. This suits me and keeps me on track. Apart from that I absolutely enjoy my sessions. I have absolutely no reservations in recommending this gym. I joined Crossfit Ignite on the recommendation of one of my friends who told me I would really like it...little did she know that I would LOVE IT. The variety in programming keeps me interested and has helped me achieve my fitness goals. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and always ready to help you with skill work or to give you the extra motivation you need to get through. Additionally, the individual programming helped me rehab through a serious back injury and has in turn, helped me become a well rounded athlete. I had never walked into a gym before I started at Crossfit Ignite, the thought of doing mind numbing exercises in a repetitive nature, incorrectly , whilst occasionally getting a glance from a trainer who knew less than me was not all inspiring. Ignite challenges you mentally and physically, every time you walk through those big roller doors, they just don’t tell you to do something BUT why you should be doing it. No two days are EVER the same , boredom and monotony are not words you will use at Ignite. Each session is meant to challenge , but also be fun. Ignite Games days , workshops, eating plans , Ignite cookbooks are all examples of how Ignite go that extra step to help clients achieve their goals and create a sense of community where people can discuss their frustrations and enjoy their successes. Ignite is results driven , not just to pick up heavy weights or to run faster , they REALLY do want to build better humans from the inside out , their satisfaction comes from the success of their clients I am stronger , fitter and mentally more capable than I have ever been and Ignite has been a big part of this. I will leave you with a little story. A few months I had the unfortunate luck to be on life support for 12 days with very little chance of making it, BUT I DID mainly thanks to my incredible family and friends and two other major factors, my health and diet. The Specialist had to come to me one day in Emergency when I came out of my coma and said “ whatever you have being doing with your fitness and diet , DON’T CHANGE it helped save your life , you have the fitness of a 20 year old” I am 44 this year.
