I scheduled my Free No Sweat Intro with Mike and I really wasn’t sold on this whole CrossFit thing. I had told him I was working out at another gym and I was still stuck in a contract for another 2-3 months. He gave me a tour of the gym and answered all my questions that I had. I gave him all of the rejections I could think of, the price is too high, I was stuck in a contract and that I would be traveling for work over the next couple months. He then asked me a final question, asking “what’s the cost of not starting now and risking waiting until later?” I couldn’t answer that question, he caught me off guard because he wasn’t selling a membership or trying to get one more person to join the gym. Mike actually cared about my health and my fitness. He cared about my goals and what my life would be like in 10, 20, and 30 years down the road. He gave me a week to try out the gym for Free, and told me that if it wasn’t for me, no big deal, at least I gave it a try! After my first workout, I was hooked! I loved it! Then…..my second workout, I was throwing up outside, second guessing why the heck am I doing this, when out comes Mike to check on me, giving me a Gatorade and cold rag to cool down! I have never experienced this kind of care and commitment from another gym. That second day was where it finally hit me, this gym truly cared about its members, and doesn’t sell you on a membership in hopes that you don’t come so they can make more money. I think it was at the end of the week after my trial week that I told Mike that I wanted to sign up! Over the last 10 months of being at CrossFit OYL, I have learned so much about the gym and myself! About the gym: - The coaches really care about your development, your health and your progress. - The coaches will check in on you if you haven’t been to the gym in some time making sure everything is good! - It is not a boot camp style workout! There are 3 levels of workouts (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced) tailored to each person’s fitness level. - They don’t sell memberships, they offer an environment where you can become healthy and achieve your goals! - The community is the best part about the gym! Everyone greets you by name, cheers you on during the workouts and gets excited for you when you hit a new PR!! - The gym has events every couple months to grow as a community! About myself: - Over the last several months, I have hit so many new PRs and doing new movements I could never have done before - I have lost a total of 82 lbs and have gained a ton of muscle! - That if I show up 4-5 times per week, I am going to hit my goals and keep gaining progress! Community: Can't say enough good things. Welcoming, supportive, friendly, and competitive. Lacking in pettiness and majoring on cheering each other on. Overall: 10/10. This is the 4th box I've been a part of. I have nothing negative to say about any other experience, but this one...there is something special at this little box in Haslet. I could go to several other boxes that are 5-10 minutes away, but I prefer to drive the extra few minutes. Again, if price and distance are your primary concerns, certainly stick with your local box, or your big box fitness machine. But if you want a community, and a staff, that cares, and will invest in you as an athlete, a client, and a person, this is the place for you. I've completed 60+ classes, and waited because I wanted to write an honest, knowledgeable review. I'm approaching the 6 month mark with OYL. I knew this gym was going to change my life the second i stepped into it. On day one, i was very nervous because i had no idea what to expect. I'm a quiet, shy (awkward? 🤷‍♀️) person that didn't really talk to anyone, so to say i was scared was an understatement. But after that day, i was hooked. The environment was super positive. People who didn't even know me greeted me and cheered me on when i was struggling or getting tired. That alone made me feel SO welcomed and accepted. Coming from a mindset where i would always be working out by myself, not really talking to anyone, and kind of just sticking to myself, being in this friendly atmosphere changed everything for the better. It took a while for me to feel comfortable being around everyone and talking to people. I was still super shy for weeks. But now, i absolutely love it. The community makes the gym 100 times better. When they tell you it feels as if you are just hanging out with family and friends, they mean it. Before OYL, i was struggling bad with depression, isolating myself, sleep apnea, lack of confidence, and just the overwhelming feeling of being lost in a weightloss journey. Now, almost 6 months later, i feel supported. i feel like i have many friends who care for my well being, i have coaches that want nothing but the best for me, and i have lost enough inches where all my clothes are baggy. My depression is more manageable because i am always surrounded by these amazing and inspiring people. My sleep apnea is better and i am getting a better night's sleep. My quality of life has become a bazillion times better because i am taking control of my health and wellness and learning new things as i continue to go to the gym. I have dropped into this box a number of times now and each time has been an excellent experience. The coaches are knowledgeable, the athletes friendly. Every warm-up is actually geared to the WOD so you never have to worry about going into the cold. I would highly recommend OYL!!

Community: Can't say enough good things. Welcoming, supportive, friendly, and competitive. Lacking in pettiness and majoring on cheering each other on. Overall: 10/10. This is the 4th box I've been a part of. I have nothing negative to say about any other experience, but this one...there is something special at this little box in Haslet. I could go to several other boxes that are 5-10 minutes away, but I prefer to drive the extra few minutes. Again, if price and distance are your primary concerns, certainly stick with your local box, or your big box fitness machine. But if you want a community, and a staff, that cares, and will invest in you as an athlete, a client, and a person, this is the place for you. I've completed 31 classes, and waited because I wanted to write an honest, knowledgeable review. Nice coaches and great workouts

The community support here is top notch! I was incredibly welcomed the second I set foot in there. Everyone was so nice and kind. This is for everyone at every fitness level. Everything is modified for each persons needs. If you want fun and friends while you work out and reaching your goals… this is the place! I cant recommend them enough.

I have been at OYL for 2 months and love it! The coaches are excellent and walk you through each movement step by step before applying a movement in a workout. So far, my metabolism has sped up, my chronic sciatic pain has diminished, gerd is almost gone, and I FEEL so much better! I feel strong! I love being part of the encouraging and uplifting community at OYL. I’m so thankful for this gym!

From day 1 EVERYONE (coaches, owners, athletes) has been incredibly friendly and welcoming, and it hasn’t stopped. OYL is just different, the welcome feeling leaves me wanting to go back. The workouts are challenging, regardless at what stage in your health journey you’re at, but not intimidating.

I absolutely love this gym. They take care of beginners as well as seasoned athletes. Everyone goes at their own pace, and the amount of support and community is amazing. I live in Justin and it is a short drive down 114. Definitely worth the price to change your fitness and the way you look at health.

I’ve only been able to go a couple of times but the coaches and community have been extremely friendly and encouraging. As a beginner to this space, I was a bit nervous but they modify the workout as needed and help step by step to make sure I am doing it correctly. In a gym it’s easy to get lost but they have really cultivated a culture of community and accountability here.

Very professional gym with owners and coaches who meet you at your level of fitness and go from there. I’m not going to be a CrossFit Games athlete and they don’t try to make me one. This review is very much overdue. I've been part of the CrossFit OYL community for over a year now and I am nothing but happy with the experience I've had so far. I have also participated in almost all of their learning programs, from their Olympic Weightlifting classes coached by Brit to a Pull up Clinic classes coached by Chelsea which were amazing and taught me so much.

CrossFit OYL is the best gym I have ever been to. Everyone (coaches and fellow gym members) are incredibly kind, encouraging and welcoming. I attend the 5 a.m. class M-F and coach Britt does a great job making everyone feel comfortable and empowered. Never thought I would WANT to willingly get up and work out 5 days a week at 5A.M. Now I couldn’t imagine not doing it.🤪

I struggled staying consistent in the gym and decided to join CrossFit. I’m so glad I landed here. Everyone is so nice and so helpful. OYL continues to be the best decision I’ve made for my physical and mental well-being. OYL fitness is the best gym in the Haslet/Rhome area! The coaches know how to help and modify any type of workout to fit your fitness level. They do a fantastic job at making it a fun and competitive environment. The community is absolutely amazing. Everyone from the coaches to the members are warm and inviting. You can workout anywhere, but this place offers so much more than a workout. The one hour coach led group classes mean you just need to show up! Everything is planned out for you! I love not having to waste my time figuring out what to do for the week. They take care of it. And it's one of the cleanest gyms around! I had to leave before the end of the first month because I got a job offer in another state, so I am out of TX for training and will move out so have a real cause for that, but I have been charged additional $210 anyway, for a service I will never be able to get. Sorry to put it down that way but it feels like a robbery, no matter what the business reasons are… it’s not a courtesy to the customer. 31 day cancellation policy means that once you sign you are actually bound to pay 2 months in advance, wich is okay if you can plan things, or you are not going because of lack of motivation, but if the reason for canceling is not depending on that, you shouldn’t be paying for something you can’t access. I have been going here for about a month now. So far, I am super impressed with the facility, coaches, and others in the classes. When I first join CrossFit OYL I was afraid it would be too difficult. The trainers really understand how to work with limitations and help you progress quickly and safely through your exercise routine. You get quick results when a good trainer knows what their doing.

I have had multiple surgeries in the past few years. Never did CrossFit and had gotten super out of shape and just generally felt weak. I joined this gym just a couple of months ago and I already love it! It is a true gym but has a family and team atmosphere. CrossFit ETA is a great place to work out and spend time with others who share similar fitness goals. The workout programming is constantly varied and never gets boring. The coaches are really good a ensuring everyone gets a great workout regardless of their fitness level. The two coaches, Jonathan and Mike, took me through the foundations and some personal training then I started group class. Everyone at the gym welcomed me with happiness and encouragement! Never once have I felt like I was looked down on because I couldn’t perform at a specific level. In fact, the workouts were modified and tailored to fit my level! I’ve been with CrossFit Eta for nearly a year and a half now and can attest to the commitment the staff and membership give to each and every person regardless of where they are in their fitness journey! I have been a member at CrossFit Eta for 2 1/2 years.... They have been absolutely wonderful to work with me and my capabilities while pushing me to improve myself! The facility is very clean and the coaches are fantastic! The Crossfit family I have gained through this journey are irreplaceable!!!!!

I came in for a couple of visits when I was visiting family in the area and really enjoyed my time. They had great equipment, very clean facility, and both coaches were extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend checking it out.
