I came to see Dr. Banik on the recommendation of a friend. I had been dealing with lower back and hip pain that had been worsening for years. I could never do Dr Banik justice, with my review but I will try. For nine years I've suffered with terrible tailbone pain, my primary care doctor reccomended osteopathic manipulation. I had already had x-rays and exams and no one could explain what was wrong. Within a few visits with Dr Banik my tailbone was not hurting !!! It has been 9 months and I am still pain free! As soon as I have anything I know I won't get an answer from my primary for I make an appointment with Dr. Banik. For instance I ran over my heel with a buggy and my whole foot was hurting. I never write reviews but wanted to encourage other moms looking for help to see Dr. Payel. I had been having hip pains at the end of my pregnancy that my OBGYN kept saying was normal, but 5 weeks post partum I still had them every day and was depriving me from doing simple things like going for a walk with my baby or doing groceries. I then went to see Dr. Payel and with one session made such an improvement. It was the difference of night and day. I went to Dr. Banik as soon as I found out that her therapy was another option for my son who at the moment was 2 years of age. My son needed help with his head, his pediatrician saw some abnormalities on his head. That included mainly the shape of it, the doctor was recommending for my son to start wearing a helmet that helps reshape heads. I am so thankful to have found Dr. Banik's office. As a new mom with a baby suffering from torticollis and plagiocephaly I was clueless as to how to address this issue. I was told by my pediatrician that the only way to address the flat head problem was getting him fitted for an uncomfortable and expensive helmet that he would have to wear 23 hours a day for many months. For some reason that just didn't sit well with me and I kept looking for better alternatives. After some research online I came across Dr. Banik who offered a solution with no helmet needed. Her assistant that answered the phone was very helpful and gave me so much information when I called the office the first time. Just after one visit my little boy was able to roll over on to his back and stomach for the first time at 7 months old. That's because Dr. Banik didn't just focus on the flat head issue but also addressed his hips, back and neck to make sure everything was working together as it should. It was amazing to see the improvement in my baby's head shape, too, just after a few visits. Dr. Banik is phenomenal. I first found her by searching for infant providers who could help with projectile vomiting for my newborn. He was gaining weight fine with breastfeeding but kept projectile vomiting. No ties and referred away from the pedi dentist and IBCLC. He never vomited again after her treatment and vomited multiple times per day before seeing her. I mentioned my SI joint pain while postpartum and how I was in PT that was unsuccessful. Two visits with her and my tearful pain was gone! The next year I was in a car accident, hit head on. I had a whiplashed shoulder and she worked the pain out within two visits. Last summer I sprained my neck and just went straight to her on day 2. I couldn’t move before seeing her. I left pain-free. She also helped a crick in my knee. Today I saw her again after 6 failed trips to a podiatrist for Plantar Fasciitis. I’ve done all of the typical things with no relief outside of the few days of oral steroids. I left her office there without pain or discomfort for the first time in nearly a year! I do expect to need a couple of more visits but she linked it to my older sciatic/lower back injury (which has been in remission a couple of years) and worked my foot up through the hip. Her magic hands are evidence-based and use real science as compared to bandaid chiropractors. There’s no back cracking here! It is pricey for her treatment but you can put it towards your insurance deductible. I’ve already spent nearly the same out of pocket with the podiatrist after insurance as I just paid her for today for actual relief. She is most certainly NOT a scam. My wife is 33 and she had muscle and joint pains as well as headaches. We went to several different doctors and nothing helped. And one day somebody told us to see an osteopath. There are only 2-3 of them in the entire Houston. We saw Dr. Banik's reviews and jumped at their office. They told us we will stop looking for other doctors, since she will cure all her pains. I paid $400 for the 1st visit, $300 for the next 2 visits for my wife's treatment. Nothing changed, only temporary relief. $1,000 wasted. They don't even accept any insurance! Then, we went to an acupuncture for $70 and a chiropractor for $187 for 9 visits. She now feels so much better! And for only about one fourth of the cost of this clinic. I have suffered from sciatica pain for almost 7 years. After acupuncture, physical therapy and cortisone shots, I finally gave up and had back surgery. That fixed the intense pain in my right hip and leg. Three years later the pain returned, but this time on my left side. Again I tried alternate therapies, but ended up again having the same surgery. This time the pain returned on my right side in a shorter amount of time. I could not imagine going through back surgery again. I did 13 sessions with a chiropractor (the Cox method) without relief. I found Dr. Banik by searching for prolotherapy on the net. After the first visit I decided to try enhanced platelet injections. It has been three weeks and I have gotten 75% relief. I wish I had better things to say, but I absolutely can not recommend OHH. I had my doubts going into the session but we were parents desperate for relief for our baby. We paid an outrageous amount of money for our first visit and were told we’d need several more sessions. The paperwork asks things like “how committed are you to healing your baby” or something to that end. It just all felt very icky and guilt trippy. The office staff did get sessions approved by our insurance, but they wouldn’t cost us any less, a portion of it would just go to a deductible we’d never meet anyway. So, when I called to cancel our sessions (after being referred to an Osteopath that charged 1/8 the amount OHH charged), I thanked her for her efforts with our insurance and she said something to the effect of “no problem, I did spend a lot of time doing it for your baby, but oh well”. Our baby did sleep well after our session, but the other Osteopath we found completed treatment in 4 sessions (so our total for her was the same as the one appointment we had at OHH 🤦‍♀️), and the improvements were drastic, so we didn’t sacrifice quality of care, we just saved a ton of money and time. There are so many babies who could benefit from Osteopathic care, but sadly OHH makes it out of reach for many. Less

Dr. Banik was amazing! My infant daughter had moderate positional plagiocephaly with torticollis which was refractory to repositioning techniques recommended by physical therapy. She was recommended for a helmet. As a pediatrician myself, I did not want to go this route – it’s expensive, cumbersome, and the evidence for use in non-severe cases was not convincing. Many fellow physician moms suggested I find a DO who specialized in therapy for this specific issue. We could not have been happier with Dr. Banik. My daughter’s torticollis quickly resolved and her head shape has normalized after a few months. Dr. Banik explained everything as she was doing it, and I was never worried that any treatment would be dangerous or uncomfortable for my baby. She was a pleasure to visit each week, and my daughter seemed to enjoy it and would usually take a great nap after treatments. Our baby was diagnosed with torticollis, shoulder dystocia, colic and GERD when she was a newborn. She screamed to the point of choking when I would put her in a car seat (and would continue screaming the entire ride). She would cry for 6+ hours during the day due to reflux. When I came to Dr. Banik last year, I was struggling with pain and tension in my shoulders that had become so bad I was losing sleep and getting distracted by it at work. I had tried several massages, but they hadn't put a dent in the tension. Finally one of the massage therapists mentioned that one of my vertebrae was out of alignment, and recommended a chiropractor. I knew I wanted somebody with more medical background than a chiropractor, and I had heard about Osteopaths, even though I'd never been to one. So, I got a reference from a friend and made an appt. Many people have already commented on how kind, open, and helpful Dr. Banik is, and I cannot agree more, but what really blew me was the depth of her knowledge, the thoroughness of her adjustment, and the EFFECTIVENESS of her treatment. I can't remember the last time I went to ANY doctor and had my issue completely solved in 2 short sessions. My experiences with modern medicine had not prepared me to believe that a gentle, non-invasive adjustment could have this effect. Not only were the pain and tension GONE after two sessions, but my misaligned vertebrae in my neck - which I could easily feel was out of alignment - moved back into place. Dr. Banik informed me that the pain and tension I was feeling were caused by some of my ribs which had been pushed up out of their place, likely as a result of very intense coughing fits caused by a cold I had a month or two earlier. I can't help but wonder how long I would have lived with the pain and attributed it to "stress" if I hadn't seen her. Unlike many chiropractors, Dr. Banik won't try to see you every month or tell you you need maintenance adjustments. Still, now I find myself wondering how many other ailments might respond to this type of treatment, and why Osteopathic adjustments aren't more common here! My son had an appendectomy after his appendix burst. I called Payel to see if she might have some help to offer. She was able to treat my son who, up until that point, couldn't be released from the hospital because his system was running in reverse/stomach cramps/uncontrollable pain/bile issues, inability to void, etc... She treated him ONCE - just once and during treatment, he fell asleep for the first time in 24 hours because his pain level dropped so much. An hour later, he voided. A couple weeks ago I was in Houston to have a release done on my tongue tie. I've been having many health complications in the last few years and I was hoping having this done would help give me some answers. While in Houston, my therapist recommended I find someone for body work as well, before and after the procedure. I'm so lucky that I found Dr. Banik, as she went way beyond what I expected for a visit like this. First of all, David and Payel have to be two of the nicest and friendliest people I have ever met. Something I could tell instantly is that they have a heart for people, and people being helped and healed as quickly as possible. This was definitely a contrast compared to some other Doctors I had been to previously and it felt like a breath of fresh air. So for years my body has been way underachieving, even with my greatest efforts to eat healthy, take care of myself, and exercise when my body will allow me. I've suffered from back and neck pain since middle school, which has greatly effected the strength in my arms and legs, making tasks like carrying groceries often too much to handle. My breathing has always been restricted, only allowing me shallow breaths and always feeling out of breath. My circulation has been very poor, as even in the summer, my hands and feet are exceptionally cold. To top this all off, a very poor digestive system that moves at a snails pace. While I have sought out help for many years now from specialists, I was always met with the answer of taking drugs, going for a massage, physio therapy, and going to chiropractors which I had never seen results in any of them. My visit to Dr. Banik's office was very different. She plenty of time to allow for a very in depth history of my health, as well to listen to any and every concern I had about my body, and every little detail about the way it functioned. Within the first visit I knew she was the most knowledgeable doctor I had ever seen. She quickly went to work making adjustments on many areas of my body, and fully explained everything that she was doing as she went. I've seen people adjust joints before, so that wasn't new to me, but Dr. Banik was also able to correct my breathing and digestive system through simple corrections with her hands. This was unlike anything I had experienced before, and the thing is, it actually worked. I took a bath later that evening, and actually felt buoyant in the tub do to the amount of air I was now able to take in! My legs and arms are a lot stronger now, and even my neck and back are responding to treatment, although it might take a little bit longer there to see the full results I would like. Overall I have more energy, can breathe deeper, have a better night sleep, improved circulation that is noticeable, walk straighter, can last on my feet for a lot longer, a lot less indigestion, and after only two appointments. While I was only in the area long enough for two treatments, I am very excited about results and breakthrough that I have seen in my health, and look forward to continuing treatment with an Osteopathic Doctor in my area. My 2-year old had been suffering from chronic ear infections and chronic constipation. For the ear infections, the traditional (allopathic) ENT specialist recommended ear tubes AND removing her adenoids. Even though these surgeries are routine these days, I wanted to explore non-surgical options for my daughter's health problems - I just felt that 2-years old was really young to start poking holes and removing things from her body. That's when I found Dr. Banik. I had read online that chronic ear infections respond well to osteopathic manipulation. Rather than having the ear tubes drain the fluid, Dr. Banik realigns the body and opens up the body's natural drainage points to allow the body to drain the fluid on its own. Last year I had severe sciatic nerve pain all the way down my right leg to the point that three of my toes and the outside half of my foot were completely numb. I could barely stand because it felt like my calf muscle was just going to snap and walking, or should I say shuffling, brought me to tears. I was in excruciating pain and I was pregnant. I tried two chiropractors and a neurologist before seeing Dr. Banik. The chiropractor would give me a bit of relief for a very short amount of time but never enough to walk upright for more than an hour. I was amazed at this ladies healing touch and her ability to completely effect positive change, naturally!
