For anyone who is considering signing up for dog training or is unsure, please do it! I have tried multiple trainers and animal behaviorists (about 7 total) to help with my husky/shepherd mix. I had extreme difficulty even getting my dog interested in food (let alone treats) or playing with his humans. This anxiety and lack of confidence has caused some resource guarding behavior of the things my dog does value. After only a couple of weeks I am already seeing an improvement. My doggo is starting to eat on his own (no hand feeding!!) and played an excellent game of chase the treats this morning. Also, when out on a potty walk yesterday he actually rolled a ball back to a doodle that had dropped it. His methods not only work, they are actually fun! Joel is honest and will break things down so you get it. He will give examples. He will answer your questions. He will not hang up at "times up" until he has addressed everything. Not all dogs are the same, not all training methods are the way to go. Our dog needs her specific needs and level of sensitivity to be addressed in a manner that we were not meeting before. Joel's way is different than the rest. I can say this with confidence! We are few videos in and are enjoying each step with our girl. I'm sure she'd tell you she is enjoying it too! These are not corrections and harsh methods that focus on dominating your dog. Your dog is going to think you are the best person ever and thank you. Joel is THE dog person. He will hear you out, then provide the encouragement and steps you need to form the best relationship with your dog. You will be happy, your dogs will be happy. We have been training with joel for awhile now and he really has been a blessing shown us some really good tools and skills to make our and our pups lives easier. A really great dog trainer who cares and is great at answering all of our questions!

Joel is the best dog trainer I've ever worked with. His methods are easily understood and work. Some seem to be the opposite of what I've learned from other trainers, but his actually WORK! He's also extremely patient with both me and my pup.

So thankful for such an informative session with Joel today! My German Shepherd 8 month old pup is super nervous around new people and he was great with her and I am really excited to watch her grow into a confident dog through play and positive reinforcement!

I met Joel a week after adopting a 6mo pit puppy; just needed general training, socialization and support. What I didn't know is how important he would become for us. Joel boarded Devi in his home twice, allowing me a great peace of mind while away. He accepted a late night emotional call when he surely didn't have too...behavior issues are hard yall! Joel works tirelessly on his own continued education so that hes armed with the right tools for you and your animal. As Devi matured we encountered behavioral issues that started to result in broken trust. Let me tell you, when you don't trust your 90# pitty, that's a big, big issue. Joel approached it from a viewpoint of what will best suit Devi and our home, not black and white obedience. He wants your dog to achieve their true 100% potential through work, structured play, reward markers, communication, appropriate emotional responses, relationship building and breed specific needs. He roots for the underdog but is honest and realistic with his expectations, of you as well; he wants you to succeed without shame or fear of the issues you're encountering.
