From start to finish, we had such a great experience with the team at Big Dog Painting. We purchased a new home and planned to paint the high-trafficked entry, kitchen and family room. Big Dog was recommended to me by a friend who used them to repaint her kitchen cabinetry. My initial plan was to repaint the bright white cabinets in a softer hue; but when Graeme came out for the initial walk-thru, he graciously told me the cabinets were in great shape and I’d be crazy to repaint them. He suggested we hold off on the time-consuming(and costly) cabinets and start first with only wall color to see how it might complement the cabinetry. He was right - it looks great and I really appreciate his candor and advice. From there, as anyone who has started a painting project knows, it snowballed. In the end we did 6 rooms, including entry and hallways, cabinetry in a bathroom and family room and also worked with a carpenter through Big Dog to redesign a fireplace surround in order to accommodate a TV above the mantel. The team was very flexible and was able to stick to the original timeline, despite me adding to the project-scope more than once. And on top of that, they were so thoughtful to plan their work around our moving schedule. Pedro came out to the house and I shared a few photos and a rough sketch of how I wanted to rebuild the mantel. While he did that in a single afternoon, Carlos and his team prepped the space. They did all of the initial prep and priming before the movers arrived; and then returned to complete the painting once all the large furniture was in place. They were at our house for days - always arriving early in the a.m. and even staying until after 6pm the night before Thanksgiving to finish painting the millwork, replacing cabinetry hardware and cleaning-up. They did such a nice job but more than that, they were really great to work with. Everyone in the office was responsive to emails, and I could text Carlos at any time of day to check-in and see how things were going. Big Dog Painting did our entire 2500 sq ft house in 7 days to ensure that the project was done before we moved in. They removed every single little thing that could get damaged by paint, painted flawlessly and then put everything back perfectly.
