NoCo Doula Collective

When my wife suggested hiring a doula for our child, I was supportive but did not grasp the value of a doula. We proceeded to hire Piage for our daughter's birth. Now that we are through it, I look at myself as incredibly naive to even question going without a doula for my wife's support. Furthermore, we were incredibly lucky to have found Paige. If you told me Paige moonlights as a master class doula to the world's elite, being flown around on private jets, and that we were a charity-type case for her, I could believe it. Paige's qualities are not limited to, but include, the following:A mother's best advocate and empowerment. I won't go into detail, but basically nothing about our daughter's birth went according to plan (our daughter was happy and healthy in the end). Paige always embraced and ensured that, at every crossroads, my wife knew she was in full control, informed, and had absolutely no shame or guilt for what she chose. And Paige instilled priceless confidence in my wife at every crossroads, and I will always be grateful for it.Endurance of an Olympian. Her proactive, energetic, nurturing spirit was constant, uplifting, and contagious throughout the entire 20-hour birthing event. Her positivity is infectious. I believe I only saw her sitting once throughout the 20ish-hour process (not that standing was expected, I know I couldn't go that long).More than just birthing support. The months leading up to and after, Paige was incredibly available for continued care and proactive support. Once we were home from the hospital and more detours were needed, Paige was our first and preferred go-to for guidance. I genuinely hope our contact with her never fades.I am obviously biased and infatuated with Paige, and in a honeymoon-type space with my newborn daughter, so allow me to end with another professional's endorsement. The Banner birthing ward has a great crew of nurses. One of our nurses, Molly, who was with us for about the first 11 hours, was no exception. Towards the end of her shift, while I was tending to my wife, Molly turned to Paige and said, "...of the doulas that come through here, you are one of the best [if not the best]." She went on to imply that if Paige ever wanted a job at Banner, she would absolutely be welcomed. If only they were so lucky to have her talent on staff. They could never pay her what she is worth. When it's all said and done, Paige's fee will feel like an absolute non-negotiable bargain.
