I moved to South Carolina in Spring 2016, not knowing another person, other than my Team Leader, Realtor, and Director of First Impressions, each of whom I had met once. At my end of year one review with Spencer Combs, we discussed both successes and failures, as there were both. In 10 minutes, Spencer drilled down that we needed to set aside the "cast a wide net approach" I had been using, and concentrate on my 2-3 local neighborhoods intensively, and begin building both presence and brand. In less than 90 days I had my first $1M+ listing, under contract in 4 days, and suddenly people wanted to talk to me about their real estate questions. One outcome I wasn't expecting, I then began to get referrals from people in those neighborhoods for listings in the broader area. Genius!
