**Review: Hot Salsa & Chimichanga Envy** When in Austin, you have to try this spot. Why? Because the moment you sit down, they hit you with chips and salsa like they’re the Oprah of appetizers: *“You get chips! You get chips!”* And the salsa? It was hot enough to make me sweat, but delicious enough to make me keep eating it, even though my tongue begged me to stop. The service was fantastic—fast, friendly, and they didn’t give me side-eye when I asked for extra napkins because, yes, I *am* a mess. I ordered the barbacoa street tacos, which were good. Like, “Oh yeah, this is solid” good. But then my dad had to outshine me with his order: the chimichanga. One bite of his and I knew I’d messed up. His chimichanga was a deep-fried masterpiece, smothered in sauce, and possibly cooked by angels. In hindsight, I should have either stolen his plate or ordered two meals for myself. Lesson learned: when at this place, just go for the chimichanga. Or bring a dad who’s willing to share. Four stars for the food, five stars for the salsa sweat, and six stars for the chimichanga I’ll be dreaming about until my next visit. Less

Stopped at Javi’s because it was close to the airport. We were seated quickly and our server was friendly and quick to get our order as she knew we had a plane to catch. The food was exceptionally good and had no complaints whatsoever. Less

I chose Javi’s Best Tex-Mex because it is mid-point between me and my sons who live in Kyle and San Marcos. I am from Corpus Christi staying in Central Austin. Come to find out, they are regulars. I am thankful that Javi did not disappoint. I had flautas and they were fine. My wife had Chimichanga and she was satisfied. We all nine had an enjoyable dinner. The waitresses were fabulous.
