I switched from Republic Services and was hoping for better service but did not get better service. I have had to call every week multiple times a week for the past couple of weeks because if I am not home to literally flag the driver down then there is a good chance they will miss my trash. I have put the pink sticker they sent on my trash can and verified that they have the location pin in the correct position so the driver knows where my trash is located but they still miss it. They are proving to not be any better than Republic Services. They charge more but we get the same results. One of the drivers that I flagged down even hit on me while the other guy with him loaded my trash and that was completely inappropriate. Do better.

Terrible service. They have missed multiple pick ups last couple years and their answer is we can’t keep employees. Yet they have increased prices every year and charged fuel fees. They just double up next week which means you pull trash out then back and animals usually get into it then they still charge you for the week of service they didn’t provide. Would switch but only company we have to choose. Hands down worst trash place and customer service won’t even answer emails to explain why they’re charging you for services they’re not doing. If you can’t pick up that day then sometime that same week you don’t get to charge for a whole month of service but come once a month.Just called to speak to them about missing pick ups multiple times while charging more. Rebecca was very rude. She’s the customer service manager. Wouldn’t let me speak to her boss. Multiple pick ups missed saying we only have to come once a month but only allow two stickers for cans. Trash builds up and I have to dispose of myself. Saying they will not refund even tho no service was provided! Yet bill increase regularly. Also tried to discuss all the reviews stating same problems and was rude about it. Terrible service!!!! Will be looking elsewhere for service. If you don’t service that week there shouldn’t be a charge. That means you saved on fuel and paying employees that week for not providing service so you pocket all of it especially when u implement a fuel charge! Yet your still charging whole price.It’s getting so much worse and yet prices have gone up. Picked up trash on a Thursday and then a Tuesday when supposed to be Monday. Called 4 times for a call back and no one ever called back. Worst business I’ve ever had to deal with. Now the answering machine can’t even accept messages so it’s full. Says same day call back but haven’t received one in days. Ridiculous

Mountain State Waste has become an absolute nightmare since they sold out. The service has gone completely downhill.Trash isn't picked up when it's supposed to be, and instead of taking responsibility, they give excuses that aren't even true. We've been told our trash couldn't be picked up because it was “blocked” when there was absolutely nothing blocking it.Then, when you call to find out what's going on, you're met with customer service representatives who are rude, snarky, and act like you're the problem for expecting the service you're paying for.Customers shouldn't have to chase down a trash company every week wondering whether their garbage is actually going to be picked up. We pay for a service—we expect that service to be provided.Mountain State Waste seriously needs to get it together. Their customers deserve better than excuses, missed pickups, and rude customer service.

This company never picks up trash on time. We live in an HOA & we have our trash out before 5am as requested by MSW & they almost never pick it up until 2 days later than our scheduled pick up. Customer service isn’t helpful either. They never seem to know where their guys are or maybe the guys just make their own schedules??

Drove here just to be told they don’t allow hand unloading of garbage at the transfer station. You would think they’d mention that on their website. I wasted my whole morning and had to go to westover to dump off.

Mountain State Waste does not deserve even a star, but have to provide a selection to post my feedback.I would not recommend MSW. They repeatedly failed to pick up my trash as scheduled while continuing to charge me for service I did not receive. Instead of providing clear explanations or solutions, they made vague, open-ended promises that were never followed through.Customer service was equally disappointing. When I called to ask about missed pickups, I was often met with "I don't know" responses instead of anyone taking responsibility or offering meaningful assistance. I have multiple recorded phone calls that document the lack of professionalism and the poor customer service I experienced.If a company expects customers to pay on time, it should also be expected to provide the service it promises. My experience with MSW has been unreliable, frustrating, and unprofessional.They are horrific.

Opened an account in June, bought a garbage can from them. After many calls and emails its the end of July and I closed my account. The garbage can was never delivered. I did ask, and suspect ill be getting, a refund. People on the phone were respectful and my account manager did return emails. So that side of customer service was kosher.

Horrible money hungry company. Every time a bill comes out the price has increased more and more. I just canceled because I was paying $120 for 3 months and switched to Republic to pay $73 for also 3 months. Half the time they don’t even pick up ur trash but charge you anyways expect during winter even if the roads are crystal clear they will not be coming but will say they did on the portal to charge you. They will say they are coming a day late because of the holidays and then come at the usual time so then if you didn’t have ur trash out you’re screwed. Canceled my service and had 1 service during the whole month so they wouldn’t refund me for the month because “if you have 1 pickup during the month we can’t refund you you have to pay the whole month” but they don’t tell you that when you cancel so beware. Taking ur money but not even picking up any trash. Canceled the service with 2 months left and they would only give me $36 dollars back even tho I payed $120 for 3 how does that make sense.

This use to be a good company. That has all changed! Scheduled services missed, make up days missed, 2nd make up day missed again. Zero communication from the company to their paying customers. I do feel bad for the office staff that have to field calls for incompetent and lazy collection drivers. Hoping to get my entire development to switch to another trash service company.If reliability is a requirement, this is not the company for you.

Honestly the worst trash company ive ever had they didn't take my trash two consecutive weeks and were very unprofessional over the phone I then asked to cancel my service then they talked over me and threatened to hang up so I said thank you have a nice day I was upset but mainly at the fact ive never missed a payment but they feel its ok to not perform the service they were hired for also its over 40 dollars per month and their policy is to charge three months ahead. I also rent their trash can which is another fee very displeased and will make sure ally friends and family will not do business with them I have heard from many people the trash pick up is not done at other locations either also you cannot go in person ensuring they can talk to you and treat you like you dont matter and they dont have to fix it

Worst garbage service I have had in 30 years!!! They won't pick up the garbage, i paid for my service for the year. The only explanation I get from the supervisor in Morgantown is "this is only a monthly service ". I thought I paid for weekly pick up!!! This is crazy with these storms & hot weather my trash is trifling on my curb. I just want the service I paid for.
