When I first called, they told me they’d pick up the rugs for free, and they’d charge $2 a square foot for an artificial material rug.When Isaac came to pick them up, we chatted for moment and ds he put foot on the rugs, he started up about a how the apartment smelled of mildew. Mind you, this was the day Chicago was infiltrated with smoke from the Canada wildfires and quite frankly that’s all you’d smell in the apartment. It hadn’t come to his attention when he first entered, it was once he felt they were damp with his feet that he started up. He didn’t disclose any additional fees or issues with them being as such.He took the rugs saying he would get back to be regarding them once he reached the warehouse with the numbers.Days went by and I didn’t hear back nor receive an invoice. I had to ask him for it multiple times. When I finally received it, I was shocked. The numbers were no where near what we’d discussed on the phone prior to pick up.First off, he had marked my polyester rugs as viscose and was charging $3.5 a square foot instead of the discussed $2. He argued that he’d been doing this for 13 years, was an expert and knew better than I did. I had looked at the labels prior to making calls for quotes, and checked that they were polyester. He was adamant, rude, and gaslit. He sent me screenshot after screenshot from the website contradicting what he’d told me over the phone prior to pick up. I told him if he could show me on the labels they were viscose I would drop the matter. He did not. Instead he switched to sending screenshots that offsite cleaning was $3.5 so it didn’t matter what material they were in the end. He hadn’t mentioned this standard $3.5 for offsite cleaning when I set up the pick up. He knowing that they were being picked up by he, himself, told me $2.Secondly, he’d added on a $200 for mildew cleaning. Now it made sense as to why he thought my apartment reeked of mildew. He’d essentially stepped on those rugs and saw dollar signs. I’d spoken to my insurance agent, as well as other cleaners and they all were in agreement that for the amount of water and the short window of time they’d spent damp, there would be no mildew smell.Out of fear he’d do something negligent to my rugs, I agreed to pay the additional $200, but needed the details corrected on the invoice. Suddenly he had no issue marking them as the polyester they were. (Nor did he bother apologizing for contesting they were viscose.) The rugs he had ready to drop off prior to me disputing the extra mildew fee now needed extra time to be cleaned.The rugs were dropped off a couple days later. I was beyond disappointed. These rugs had been in great condition - barely a year old with little to no traffic on them.They were returned with brown blotches on the under side. The fringe on them was brown and hard in places. The corners damaged. The one that sat mainly underneath my bed now had its pile matted down and was sticky! And then, the icing on the cake, THEY REEKED OF MILDEW! What did I spend that extra $200 for! Say even if they had smelled of mildew, I had apparently paid for that ‘expert’ cleaning to get rid of the smell? God knows what he did to them while they were in his possession.I would have been better off buying new rugs than paying this extortionate amount for such horrible ‘cleaning.’ Stay away from Isaac because he’s just out to scam you any way he can for however much he can. It would be one thing to disagree over an invoice, but the way he handled it was beyond unacceptable. He shouted, yelled, and talked down to me.Funny enough he sent plenty of screenshots from the website showing me all the different clauses that applied to my rugs increase in pricing, but the one about ‘satisfaction guaranteed or its free’ sent him running. Once he’d been paid and dropped the rugs, I couldn’t get ahold of anyone from this company. I called, texted, and emailed multiple times but never got a response from anyone.
