My grandchildren have been tremendously blessed to have the opportunity to attend the jujutsu classes at Alamo Heights Combat Club. This amazing program has provided them with invaluable lessons that extend far beyond just the physical practice of martial arts. When my grandson first started attending several years ago, he was a shy and introverted child who struggled with confidence and focus. However, through the patience and guidance of the sensei and senior students, he slowly came out of his shell. The structure and discipline required in jujutsu helped him build self-control, determination, and respect for others. The dojo feels like a second home, with a warm sense of community among the students and families. The sensei takes a holistic approach, reinforcing important values like humility, integrity, and perseverance along with the technical jujutsu instruction. My grandson learned so much about having a growth mindset and never giving up, even when faced with difficulties. Now it’s my granddaughters turn.
