We've dined here a few times on two recent trips to Melbourne. We always enjoy the Happy Hour drinks and select a few small dishes to accompany them, rather than large mains. On our last visit the dips & bread, sweet potatoes and salt & pepper squid were delicious. The staff are always lovely & friendly from the moment we walk in.

This is hands down the best modern Australian casual dining experience I have had in a very long time, and I cannot believe how underrated this restaurant is. As someone who loves local Australian food, I was absolutely blown away by the incredible quality and flavor of every single dish we ordered. Every meal is cooked fresh to order, with high-quality local ingredients, balanced seasoning, and perfect cooking precision. The taste is clean, rich, and uniquely modern Australian — simple but extremely flavorful, far better than many more expensive restaurants in the area. What makes this place truly amazing is its outstanding value for money. With an affordable price range of only $20 to $40 per person, the portion sizes are generous and filling, and the food quality completely surpasses all expectations for this price tier. There is absolutely no compromise on taste, freshness, or presentation. Every plate looks neat, appetizing, and carefully prepared. The service here is quick, friendly, and professional. The staff members are polite, welcoming, and always attentive without being intrusive. Orders come out fast, even during busy hours, and the overall dining process is smooth and effortless. The restaurant has a clean, bright, and modern atmosphere with a relaxed casual vibe. It is cozy and comfortable, perfect for weekday dinners, casual lunch breaks, family meals, or hanging out with friends. The environment is tidy, quiet enough for conversation, and very welcoming.Overall, this is a true hidden gem for modern Australian food. The combination of amazing flavor, fresh ingredients, great portion sizes, friendly service, and affordable pricing makes it one of my top go-to spots in the city. I left extremely satisfied and will absolutely be returning regularly. Highly recommended to anyone looking for delicious, high-quality Australian casual dining at a reasonable price. Well-deserved 5 stars!

I’ve never had sex but I imagine it doesn’t feel nearly as good as the dining experience provided here. Wonderful staff, a diverse menu, and all at incredible value.

The service here is wonderfully nice. We had a great chat with our waiter, and when he learned I wanted to watch the Women Asia Cup Final to support the Matildas, he went out of his way to give us the table with the absolute best view. We did need to wait a little while for our food to arrive, but it was surely worth the wait. Every dish was incredibly tasty with very generous portions, and my whole family completely loved it. There happened to be a big group celebrating a birthday party at the same time, which made the overall atmosphere absolutely amazing. Highly recommend stopping by!

Happy hour is 5pm -7pm. Conveniently located in the Great Southern Hotel, friendly staff, warm greetings on arrival. Great bar, didn't eat on this occasion but the menu looks appetising and reasonably priced. Located in the heart of Melbourne CBD, not loud but lovely and quiet restaurant. Mimosa was refreshing and perfectly made.
