David is amazing at his job. He scheduled everything we were on time with the tours of the homes and we really enjoyed ourselfs as well being that it was our first time ever visiting Merida. In late 2023 our family began the process of looking for a home outside of Canada. We stumbled upon Merida and immediately knew it checked our boxes on paper and would need to see it in person. We initially met a different realtor online, however I felt a disconnect in what we were relaying to each other. My husband recalled seeing Megan & David’s you tube videos during our Merida research, so we reached out & set up a time to chat through their online booking platform. Without any knowledge of us, they were relating to us in so many ways that I KNEW they were the team for us. While it may not be common knowledge, in Merida you do not a license to practice real estate, which allows uneducated parties to act as agents and that leads to the many horror stories you read online. Megan & David have brought the professionalism you are accustomed to from abroad and have merged it into the real estate market in Merida. The mesh of their Mexician & North American knowledge can be felt throughout the whole process. Not only is David FULLY bilingual and originally from Merida, but he is also able to tell you what is and isn’t normal practice here – which believe me YOU WILL NEED BOTH. Megan, coming from my hometown in Calgary, AB alleviated so many concerns I had of uprooting our family to Mexico - which really can only be truly understood by someone who has done it themselves. She explained some cultural differences, huge misconceptions, and took extreme care checking in with me throughout the process. They showed us many homes via video conference which allowed us to narrow our search to specific gated Privada’s. Upon landing in Merida, we then toured our short list and while we knew WHERE we wanted to be, we couldn’t find the right house that specifically fit out family’s wants list. David then helped us facilitate a land purchase in the Privada we loved, and their team (shout out to Vanessa) found us a rental home to enjoy while we build our dream home. As this was my first time buying a place outside of the US obviously I was super nervous about how I would transact, understand the language, the process, and if this was a good/real property. All things you would typically be nervous about. I found David via his YouTube channel with Megan really helping explain everything and they just made everything much simpler with their videos. So when I contacted them I felt comfortable. They were so helpful and help me identify what and where and many other things I didn’t think about when looking for my property. In the end after months of working with them we narrowed it down for my visit there. All the research did they for me paid off.
