The Home Team Roofing

I was working in my yard one day when two members of The Home Team Roofing came up to introduce themselves. Chris and RC told me they were finishing up a roof in the neighborhood and asked if I wanted them to check my roof for weather damage. I normally don’t engage in this manner, but something about their professionalism and appearance caused me to say “ok”. While I had no leaks, I knew the roof had seen numerous storms, including in the past few months. But I also knew that most insurance companies are not fun to deal with. Chris and RC assured me that there was significant damage from a recent storm, and that they would work with insurance on my behalf. The contract they presented was well written and surprisingly balanced for both parties. It took numerous weeks to present my claim to insurance, through several phases, but as promised, The Home Team prevailed and insurance agreed that I had a valid claim. At this point, my entire involvement was almost negligible. They handled everything!I didn’t think it could get any better…but it did. I’ve lived through three different roof replacements at houses I’ve owned over the years. My current one-story home has by far the largest and steepest roof I’ve ever lived under. Based on my past experiences, I figured we’d be lucky to have the job finished in under three days. When Chris said it would be done in a day, I thought “impossible”! Sure enough, very early on the morning of planned work, I heard voices in the back yard. It was still pitch black outside, but “the crew” had arrived…all fourteen of them! They were already spreading tarps and moving patio furniture out of the way, while wearing headlamps! It was late June, in southeast Texas…that means humidity is fighting the heat to see who is more brutal. I have never seen a crew as organized, hard working, respectful of my property, and cooperative in my life; and I’ve run construction crews many times in my life. You could tell they liked being part of The Home Team. They removed over 81 squares of steep roof by 10AM, took a company mandated rest and rehydration break, and then began to build the new roof. By 4PM the roof was done and they began cleaning up tarps, etc. By 6PM Chris and RC were doing last inspections and making sure all was done to my satisfaction. Every time my wife and I drive up our driveway now my wife says “that roof has totally transformed the house”. And I agree. It could not have been a better experience…from start to finish they were professional, friendly, courteous and incredibly skilled. Our roof is beautiful and I recommend The Home Team with highest possible praise.
