Firstly they asked if I wanted them to wear a mask, so very sensitive to the world we are still living in. Brett and Richard took measurements to see where all the drains would be draining from (We have 2 tubs and a toilet all close to each other in our house). Once they had a plan they shared it with me and started the job. While Brett and Richard were there they were a plethora of information, sharing with me what I could do to on my own to look after our preventative maintenance. Once they had fixed our leak I asked them if I could add on a couple other services, you know since they were there. They were more than happy to do the additional items and even asked if there was anything else they could do while they were there. At no time did I feel they were rushing out to get to the next job. I could not have asked for a more professional company to be in my home, my personal space. I struggle with strangers in my home and at no time did I ever feel that they were strangers. I contacted this business after they were recommended by another plumber who was booked up for days. My hot water tank was/is not working and I spoke to someone who identified himself as Richard, and an assistant to the plumber I was trying to reach; I needed someone out quickly because my hot water tank will not come on, and i have over 100 animals to care for on my farm/ranch (which I explained). Richard asked me to text him some photos of the hot water heater, and photos of a spare electric one I had in the basement. He said that his one tech just had a cancellation so I might be in luck. He then indicated he was going to try to contact his tech, that the spare hot water heater might work as a temporary one; and that he make some calls and get me in touch with his tech; hours later he had not called me back so I contacted him again - it was close to 5 pm; he then said he needed another photo of the spare water heater to see what it was hooked up to - i said that it was hooked up to nothing (which I had indicated and was was clear in the first pic I had sent). Since their system keeps asking for a review, here it is. Kingstree was recommended to me by my go-to HVAC company. From a delayed response from Kingstree, to initial quote by phone (the plumber wouldn’t honour it without being in writing, even though Kingstree didn’t offer me an email/written quote), to booking administrator that didn’t pass all the info/photos I supplied on to the plumber, to the plumber that showed up over an hour early with no notice, to the plumber who quoted 25% higher, to the invoice that was 77% higher than the initial quote (because the callout fee was not included in the work, it was extra (unlike other plumbers, electricians, HVAC companies; and after both the administrator and plumber had told me “the price is the price, there are no other fees” numerous times - I'm glad I was home when he showed up so early!). The plumber also told me they were one of the cheapest in town, yet they ended up being 15% more expensive. I asked for the owner to call me or to at least get me his contact info, and I never got a response. As the Kingstree plumber said to me, "we have a 5-star rating, I guess we have to get a bad one some time". 2-stars since the work hasn’t leaked, but the pricing methods seems like a scam. Well, they showed up Wednesday with a new water heater and had it installed in about an hour and a half. They were both really nice guys, they cleaned up and gave a fair price for their work. I am so disappointed that I have to edit my review to reflect the service received. When they installed my bathtub they didn't hook up the overflow drain. This lead to water going through where the overflow should have been and pouring into the ceiling below. This warped the frame of a side door right under the bathroom, bent the door from the pressure of the frame and left a big water stain on the drywall. The water even went all the way down the wall into the basement. Darren said he was going to have trades come to give opinions on how to fix the damage and get it fixed. This never happened. There has been multiple follow ups and still is not fixed. There were a number of other leaks and problems as well. The kitchen sink drain leaked and it took about 4 times of them coming back to fix it. Eventually I had to find the leak for them and then it got fixed. My laundry room sink was also leaking into the cabinet. My outdoor tap sprays water out of the turn handle itself and has never been corrected. As a single parent it is hard enough to go through renovations, but then add on having all this extra work plus then not getting damages repaired and it has turned into a nightmare and is a constant stress. I wish this could have been resolved long ago. I have given Darren almost 2 years to fix the bath tub leak and since no resolution. Less
