Maddie Colton - massage therapy review. I had some minor lipoma surgery on my Left side during the winter and began experiencing arm and shoulder problems on my Right side shortly after. This continued on for months and it seemed my recovery was stalled. Seeing my chiropractor helped somewhat but I was beginning to resign myself to having a rough spring and summer with limited activity due to my right arm and shoulder issues. That was when Dr. Hunter, my chiropractor at the same clinic, suggested that I should see Maddie. During the first ½ hour visit she was able to diagnose what she thought was going on with my body largely due to the surgery. She did so in a way that made perfect sense to me and then showed and worked me through 3 exercises she thought would help. It took a while to work the exercises into a routine and I didn't see much improvement that first week. At the next visit Maddie did some body work on the surgery scar and showed me 2 more exercises which I added to my routine. I was more diligent with the exercises the second week and by the time I saw her for the third visit I was at 90% - my right arm and shoulder had improved dramatically and I felt I was getting my life back. What a relief. In the end it was not so much about what I consider to be traditional massage, although there was that as well, it was more about getting the muscles on both left and right sides working together in the right way. I've had severe migraine pain for almost two decades that was directly caused by muscle knotting due to poor sleeping posture, and was resigned to using Mar-Rizatriptin liberally to suppress the severity of the attacks otherwise I would be bedridden for hours at a time with a hypersensitivity to light, sound, heat and noise unless I dug an ice-pack into the back of my head with such severity for ... I had one session with Mitch Wegmann prior to him moving to this clinic in which he diagnosed my posture issues and conducted an initial acupuncture session. One of the needles placed in my ear felt hot and painful (and even left a blister) - not dissimilar to a repetitive wasp sting - which I later determined by examining acupuncture meridian charts that was connected to my occipital which was the overwhelming site of tightness and inflammation during the attacks. Since our session in April/March, I haven't had a single migraine attack which I know must be directly due to the release of such overwhelming tension built up over the years on top of having not done anything about my posture and knotting problems. I regret not returning to Dr. Wegmann at his new clinic due to my unaccommodating schedule as he recommended nucca therapy along with other measures needed to restore my posture and ensure this problem doesn't return to that same point.
