I’ve had a great experience at CrossFit Adaptation! As a beginner, I really appreciate how the coaches always find a way to scale the workouts to my level while still making them challenging. They’re constantly paying attention to your form, giving feedback, and making sure you’re doing the movements correctly. What I love most is how welcoming and inclusive the environment is. You never feel intimidated by people who have been doing CrossFit for years. Everyone is supportive, and the coaches make sure you feel comfortable and included regardless of your experience level. Such a great place to start. :)

AMAZING community, culture, and workouts!! From the moment I stepped into this gym, I felt welcomed not only by the coaches, but the members too! When you are in a transitory job, finding a gym with a sense of community is so appreciated and this gym did just that!! The workouts were also great, I especially appreciated the transparency on what each month’s focus would be on (generally a few specific lifts and CF skills) and the “why” behind these focuses. Finally, I think it is telling when coaches will also do the programmed workouts-which is what I saw here! Overall I noticed my CF skills developing (was stringing together band assisted BMUs!) and strength improving! Jim and Amy (the owners) have created an awesome environment here and I would encourage anyone trying to find their CF home to give this gym a try!!

We dropped in a couple times while visiting the DMV area. Amy was a fantastic coach and helped to modify the workout for me since I wasn’t familiar with all the techniques. She’s an amazing coach and very thorough with the warmup, explanations and motivation throughout the workout.Happy to have found it. The box is also a very large and great space. Thank you!

I cannot say enough good things about CrossFit Adaptation. I have been a member at multiple CrossFit gyms over the years and CrossFit Adaptation has been far and away the best member experience. The coaching and programming are top notch and the community is very welcoming of all athletes, regardless of skill level. The owners, Amy and Jim, are awesome. Whether you are looking for a home gym in the Arlington area or just dropping in from out of town, I highly recommend CrossFit Adaptation!

CrossFit Adaptation offers a welcoming, supportive environment for members of all fitness levels, and I mean all! I barely moved before attending Elements. We have had two coaches so far, Jim and Amy, and they have been wonderful. I highly recommend this gym.

CFA is a special place filled with extraordinary people. The coaches make a genuine effort to get to know every member, creating a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone feels seen, valued, and encouraged. The programming is targeted for elite athletes and includes thoughtful scaling options so that people of any age, experience level, or fitness background can participate with confidence. What draws me to CFA is its culture. I completed my Elements class in 2019 and I have always found the coaches and fellow athletes to be incredibly kind, encouraging, and enthusiastic.Jim and Amy have built a community where people celebrate one another's progress and genuinely want to see everyone succeed.Thank you, Amy and Jim, for creating such an outstanding gym and welcoming community for athletes at every stage of their fitness journey.

Such a great experience at CrossFit Adaptation. From day one, the coaches and members have made me feel like family. The programming is excellent, with workouts that are challenging, fun, and effective for all fitness levels. What really stands out is how encouraging and supportive everyone is — there’s always positive energy and motivation in every class. If you’re looking for a welcoming community and great coaching, I highly recommend checking them out!

I love this place! I was very intimidated to start CrossFit as a total beginner. The Elements (intro) class was sooo helpful. They really take care to teach you the foundational movements and make sure you feel comfortable before jumping in. I’ve felt so welcome and supported by the community, coaches and members alike, and the owners are such wonderful people! Every day feels like pushing myself in a very good way and I’m so glad I took this leap here at CFA!!

I've been a member of this gym for many years and I still really love the culture! The workouts are fun, the people are friendly, and the coaches are excellent. The gym changed ownership last year, and it's clear the new owners really care about the member experience. If you're looking for a gym where you can get stronger, stay healthy, and feel safe, give CrossFit Adaptation a try. 😊

Really great gym - Amay and Jim have instilled a positive culture at CrossFit Adaptation. All the coaches at CrossFit Adaptation are there to cheer you on through your best and worst. Their spirit infuses the gym with positivity and energy.

Adaptions is one of the best CrossFit gyms I have ever been too. The space is great and has the best layout out of all the gyms in the area. Additionally the workouts are great and the dynamic warm-up and stretching is by far leaps and bounds ahead of any other gym. When I travel and do drop in WODs I am always shocked at how little stretching they do. I've been doing CrossFit for about 16 years now and I find with Jim and Amy's programming along with their dynamic warm-up focuses a lot on long term fitness. This has led to a significant decrease in the injuries I've experienced. Now in my 40s I seem to be less injury prone than in my 30s thanks to their programming, but in the same shape (still can get a little over 2 minute Grace). The community is also excellent and there are always events going on here such as ski trips, happy hour, pickleball, but also other fitness related events like nutrition coaching, Olympic lifting sessions, etc. If you are looking to join a gym I could not recommend a better one. If your goal is to up your CrossFit game they will help you do it, or, if you are beginner and are just looking to move they will welcome you with open arms. Adaptations will help elevate your fitness game without having the elitist mentality that other gyms have. If you can't tell, I highly recommend.

Fantastic local gym. Great community and a really strong emphasis on mobility and injury prevention.

We are a family that moves every few years so I have been a member of many CrossFit gyms around the country and overseas. Since moving here I have checked out a few different gyms in the area and Adaptation has won me over! The first day the owner, Amy, greeted me and showed me around. One of the coaches, Ryan, who was doing his own workout stopped what he was doing to introduced himself and make me feel welcomed. All the members I’ve chatted with have been super friendly and supportive. I was even told that my kids are welcomed as long as they don’t distract the class. The gym itself is pretty clean and organized for a CrossFit box and there is plenty of free parking ;)I already feel at home at CrossFit Adaptation and I’m looking forward to getting to know the community better!

I go to CrossFit teens at this gym. The environment is very welcoming and the community it’s so friendly. I would recommend signing you or your kid up for classes, kid classes, or teen classes.

Member for 5 years — incredible owners, coaching, and community. Couldn’t ask for a better gym.

I came to this gym ~November 2024. I was feeling down from losing my previous gym community, but CrossFit Adaptation welcomed me as one of their own as soon as I walked in the doors. I had Omar as my coach for a Saturday morning class and the way he hyped me up made me feel like a CrossFit Games athlete! Jim, one of the owners, always is available and present when you have questions on movement standards and how to get better at something. He truly wants you to become a better individual all around. The community at CFA is so incredibly special and has become near and dear to my heart. CFA recently won Best CrossFit Gym in NOVA for 2025 and if you come on in, you'll instantly realize why!

We love this gym and this community. We live in SWDC and drive out the Arlington because we found this to be the best community in the area. Quality coaching, varied programming, and a solid vibe all around.

We joined in January 2024 and absolutely love this gym and the community. It's a large space with great coaches and friendly people. While we sadly had to leave this gym due to moving, we still love to come back every now and again to work out. Under new ownership, there have only been improvements to the programming and the gym as a whole. The community here is unparallel to anywhere I have been before and I would highly recommend joining or dropping in here.

I'm an out of towner and I found my gym away from home. This place is excellent with helpful coaches and fair drop in pricing. Great and helpful even for a relative beginner like me. Friendly athletes all around. Join the 530am crew!

A fun environment, amazing programming, and fun people and coaches. All the latest equipment and gear you need is there and ready to go for both classes and open workouts.

We shot a commercial here today and we had a great time. This gym is for the true lifter. It is equipped several pairs of Olympic rings, climbing ropes, medicine balls, foam rollers, kettle bells, free weights, row machines, weighted swinging bats, huge tires for flipping and Olympic bars for Olympic lifts. The cast and crew were a great team to work with and the icing on the cake was this location.
