AMAZING community, culture, and workouts!! From the moment I stepped into this gym, I felt welcomed not only by the coaches, but the members too! When you are in a transitory job, finding a gym with a sense of community is so appreciated and this gym did just that!! The workouts were also great, I especially appreciated the transparency on what each month’s focus would be on (generally a few specific lifts and CF skills) and the “why” behind these focuses. Finally, I think it is telling when coaches will also do the programmed workouts-which is what I saw here! Overall I noticed my CF skills developing (was stringing together band assisted BMUs!) and strength improving! Jim and Amy (the owners) have created an awesome environment here and I would encourage anyone trying to find their CF home to give this gym a try!!

We dropped in a couple times while visiting the DMV area. Amy was a fantastic coach and helped to modify the workout for me since I wasn’t familiar with all the techniques. She’s an amazing coach and very thorough with the warmup, explanations and motivation throughout the workout.Happy to have found it. The box is also a very large and great space. Thank you!

I cannot say enough good things about CrossFit Adaptation. I have been a member at multiple CrossFit gyms over the years and CrossFit Adaptation has been far and away the best member experience. The coaching and programming are top notch and the community is very welcoming of all athletes, regardless of skill level. The owners, Amy and Jim, are awesome. Whether you are looking for a home gym in the Arlington area or just dropping in from out of town, I highly recommend CrossFit Adaptation!

I love this place! I was very intimidated to start CrossFit as a total beginner. The Elements (intro) class was sooo helpful. They really take care to teach you the foundational movements and make sure you feel comfortable before jumping in. I’ve felt so welcome and supported by the community, coaches and members alike, and the owners are such wonderful people! Every day feels like pushing myself in a very good way and I’m so glad I took this leap here at CFA!!

The gym changed ownership last year, and it's clear the new owners really care about the member experience. Adaptions is one of the best CrossFit gyms I have ever been too. The space is great and has the best layout out of all the gyms in the area. Additionally the workouts are great and the dynamic warm-up and stretching is by far leaps and bounds ahead of any other gym. When I travel and do drop in WODs I am always shocked at how little stretching they do. I've been doing CrossFit for about 16 years now and I find with Jim and Amy's programming along with their dynamic warm-up focuses a lot on long term fitness. This has led to a significant decrease in the injuries I've experienced. Now in my 40s I seem to be less injury prone than in my 30s thanks to their programming, but in the same shape (still can get a little over 2 minute Grace). The community is also excellent and there are always events going on here such as ski trips, happy hour, pickleball, but also other fitness related events like nutrition coaching, Olympic lifting sessions, etc. If you are looking to join a gym I could not recommend a better one. If your goal is to up your CrossFit game they will help you do it, or, if you are beginner and are just looking to move they will welcome you with open arms. Adaptations will help elevate your fitness game without having the elitist mentality that other gyms have. If you can't tell, I highly recommend.

We are a family that moves every few years so I have been a member of many CrossFit gyms around the country and overseas. Since moving here I have checked out a few different gyms in the area and Adaptation has won me over! The first day the owner, Amy, greeted me and showed me around. One of the coaches, Ryan, who was doing his own workout stopped what he was doing to introduced himself and make me feel welcomed. All the members I’ve chatted with have been super friendly and supportive. I was even told that my kids are welcomed as long as they don’t distract the class. The gym itself is pretty clean and organized for a CrossFit box and there is plenty of free parking ;)I already feel at home at CrossFit Adaptation and I’m looking forward to getting to know the community better!

I go to CrossFit teens at this gym. The environment is very welcoming and the community it’s so friendly. I would recommend signing you or your kid up for classes, kid classes, or teen classes.

I came to this gym ~November 2024. I was feeling down from losing my previous gym community, but CrossFit Adaptation welcomed me as one of their own as soon as I walked in the doors. I had Omar as my coach for a Saturday morning class and the way he hyped me up made me feel like a CrossFit Games athlete! Jim, one of the owners, always is available and present when you have questions on movement standards and how to get better at something. He truly wants you to become a better individual all around. The community at CFA is so incredibly special and has become near and dear to my heart. CFA recently won Best CrossFit Gym in NOVA for 2025 and if you come on in, you'll instantly realize why!

We joined in January 2024 and absolutely love this gym and the community. It's a large space with great coaches and friendly people. While we sadly had to leave this gym due to moving, we still love to come back every now and again to work out. Under new ownership, there have only been improvements to the programming and the gym as a whole.The community here is unparallel to anywhere I have been before and I would highly recommend joining or dropping in here.

We shot a commercial here today and we had a great time. This gym is for the true lifter. It is equipped several pairs of Olympic rings, climbing ropes, medicine balls, foam rollers, kettle bells, free weights, row machines, weighted swinging bats, huge tires for flipping and Olympic bars for Olympic lifts. The cast and crew were a great team to work with and the icing on the cake was this location.
