I'm primarily disappointed in the quality of craftmanship, timeliness in completing the projects, and follow through on the warranty.The Good: Mehmet and Adam have a nice showroom. They showed willingness to work with us on some items but overall we don't feel like NewLine justified their price tag quality and service wise.The Bad: The contractors who they hire to complete the work do not always specialize in the field they are completing a job in. You get a lot of day laborers who are installing custom flooring or air vents for example. This has been especially problematic in that some of our flooring months past completion date has no grout at all and we have custom AC vents installed by New Line in our cabinetry that a general laborer has attempted to repair multiple times with no actual expertise in how to fix the vent. We also paid for custom picture frame molding in our powder room that has already split in the corners as they had painters fitting in as carpenters upon their carpenter departing. We would also have contractors coming multiple times per week not knowing what they were doing that day and asking us if I knew what they were doing. It just felt very clumsy for the cost we were paying. When you are paying over $105,000 for a kitchen and powder room you would expect a quality contractor force but the contractor quality was all over the place.The second primary issue was the timeliness on completing both projects. We had both projects run months longer due to A) an inability of NewLine to work with our village and B) NewLine's plumber leaving for vacation for two months with no one to back him up. The inability to work with our village was a major problem as even the simplest permits were problematic for NewLine to deliver upon. We had to waste substantial time ourselves having to fix many of NewLine's permit issues with our village. As to the plumber issue- we were forced to wait for the plumber to come back delaying our project indefinitely. It caused substantial issues with our working relationship as NewLine did not provide a solution of a new plumber to complete the project (they did help with a maintenance issue). This lack of partnership caused a lot of unnecessary issues in delaying the project due to unnecessary rigidity.Finally the warranty seems to be problematic. We reached out as a custom air vent that New Line installed into the new cabinetry we purchased (also through NewLine) had broken off. It had fallen many times prior in our crawl space and NewLine just sent day laborers with no expertise to fix it even though we paid extra as a documented change order to do this work from NewLine. To add more complication- this design was NewLine's idea to move a floor vent into the cabinetry making this even more frustrating that they will not assist on a simple service call. The broken off vent has caused our pantry to heat up to 98 degrees and spoiled much of our food. We are not able to use it until it is fixed in what is otherwise a brand new kitchen. We had reached out to NewLine regarding this on 12/26/24 and received a message that Mehmet would discuss with Adam. It has now been over two months with no response. We had follow ups built into this discussion so it's disappointing to never hear back (after spending $105,000).Pictures: Flooring that is missing grout, the custom vent that NewLine installed, and picture molding that is already splitting that NewLine installed that they will not service. We had to go down to the studs on several walls and ceiling and completely rebuild, and we are so happy with the results. We love the quality of our kitchen, and Mehmet was a great partner in the design. The whole staff from project manager, Adam, to Master Carpenter/ project manager, Meris, to the build & finish details done by Bernardo and their teams to the lovely cleaning crew… all were wonderful to work with, trustworthy to have in our home and had strong attention to detail on our kitchen build.My only constructive feedback was that the end of the project/ punch list took longer than ideal once we had an operational kitchen in place. I think this is mainly due to keeping a relatively small crew they completely trust and limiting the use of subcontractors. When we started the project, Mehmet and I had several meetings to design and plan the renovation. He guided me around industry best practices, color, material compliances, and quality concerns.Project management has at least three crucial pillars: Scope, Schedule, and Cost management. In terms of Scope management, it is fair to expect some scope adjustment or change. As this was my first project and I was unfamiliar with all terminology and item names, I may have needed more than just reading the contract to envision what would be done within the project.Regarding the Schedule management, Mehmet and the Project Manager, Adam, worked so hard to coordinate all the team and stakeholders to catch the deadline, even though it took more than expected to receive the permits, which may have delayed the whole project.Regarding Cost Management, Mehmet tried his best to keep the cost the same as we had agreed, even though we had a scope change. What followed was a constant stream of professionals, from contractors to plumbers, to tile layers, electricians, painters, and everyone to complete the job. Obviously, some things were delayed due to supply chain issues (not in anyone’s control) and unforeseen issues with our bathrooms (eg. electrical issues). But it all worked out so well in the end. A leak we had suspected was discovered to be much worse. So not only did they fix the leak, they also repaired the ceiling in our kitchen. With one bathroom done, they moved on to the next. It was done much faster than the first. Mehmet did a great job giving us advice and explaining the process. Eva Oyku Akay (Lead Designer) was fantastic at helping us choose items and helping us with the online app. Adam was great in keeping us informed of the daily schedules and what we could expect next. And Bernardo? Honestly, I think Benardo can pretty much do every job here. They had been storing materials in our garage, and they left it CLEANER than before they started. Everyone was great, friendly, and super-professional. The work is top-notch and looks fantastic. We are so happy with the results. Within days of them starting the work, we knew we would consider them for our kitchen remodeling (which we are still thinking over). Newline Kitchen and Bath is the best. I highly recommend them.
