Before seeing Dr Folkerts, I had spent 2+ years seeing a very competent and caring conventional Chiropractic Dr. only providing temporary relief to persistent mid back pain, mostly age related degeneration. After just 1 complimentary treatment, my pain was gone and didn’t start to appear again for about 4 weeks. I knew this was the answer. I signed up for the 16 treatment plan and now about halfway through, I can swing a golf club, work and play with my grandson. I’m a believer in Dr Folkerts and Laser Therapy. Although pricey and not covered by insurance, I asked myself, “what is it worth to live pain free and enjoy an active life again.” Answer….priceless, a big thank you to Dr Folkerts and his friendly, professional staff.

I wish I'd seen Dr. Folkerts before I had back surgery!! I had an L4-5 fusion in July of 2022. Physical therapy, exercises, yoga, lumbar epidural injection, nothing seemed to work to help relieve the sciatica and pain before and after surgery. Contacted Dr. Folkerts office in April of 2023. Was able to get right in and started laser therapy. After 18 treatments the results are nothing short of amazing! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Folkerts and his staff and how laser therapy has improved my quality of life! Highly, highly recommend seeing Dr. Folkerts before getting surgery!!

I had been suffering from arthritic pain in my foot for a year or more. I tried everything and the Orthopedic doc said there was nothing he could do but give me a script for pain meds. Not happening. For many years, I struggled with tailbone, lower back, and leg pain (probably sciatic related). I could not travel in a car for any amount of time without severe pain and pressure in my tailbone and lower back. My sleep was significantly impacted, which affected my overall health and well-being. I tried traditional chiropractic care that did provide some relief, but the symptoms persisted and increased in severity despite treatment. After many X-rays, CAT and MRI scans, weeks of physical therapy, and even one injection, I still suffered. Wanting to avoid invasive surgeries, I turned to Dr. Folkerts at Laser Pain Centers of Illinois - Sherman. Dr. Folkerts conducted an assessment and developed a plan that he believed would provide healing and curb my pain. After just a few months of laser and decompression treatments, I no longer suffered from pain in my tailbone. The pressure I would experience after sitting in a vehicle was gone; no matter how long or short the trip. After months of treatment, the pain in my lower back can now be rated at a 1 or 2, and that’s not even all the time. I now sleep through the night and feel better overall. Outside of regular exercise, receiving treatment by the Laser Pain Center has been the best decision and investment I have ever made for my physical health.

A year and a half ago I began having extreme lower back pain that prevented from me from doing just about everything. I couldn’t stand or sit for too long or find a comfortable position while sleeping. An X-ray and multiple MRIs determined I had spinal stenosis, or degenerative disc disease. After two months of physical therapy and multiple different medications, nothing worked and the pain was actually getting worse. At the recommendation of a friend, I went to see Dr. Folkerts. The staff was extremely friendly and Dr. Folkerts listened closely to everything as I explained the pain I was having and what had been tried up to that point. He recommended laser treatments and adjustments for my back and after just the third treatment, I felt 100% better. After finishing the full course of treatment, I was pain free and able to get back to living a normal life. I still go back every couple of months for routine maintenance and I recommend them to everyone I talk with. Thank you all so much!
