Wow, what a great trip! The "Blue House" was all we were hoping for and more. The location was perfect - so close to the beach. The house, which felt more like a home, was very well provisioned, with a special gift basket for us on arrival. Lots of room to spread out, and lots of deck time in the sun. Ellen was very responsive to a minor glitch with the BBQ. It was fixed very quickly, allowing us to have a great meal. Everyone including all-around good guy neighbor Tim was genuinely concerned with making sure we were having a good time (we were!) Thanks so much Tim and Ellen for making our 50th wedding anniversary family vacation one to remember!!

We spent two weeks at this fabulous location. The house is great, kitchen has every appliance or gadget you would want, best stocked kitchen we've ever had, won't have to bring as much stuff next year. The patio looks right over the beach, they had a great concert while we were there. We walked every morning down to Swami Beach then back through town. We've been coming to Encinitas for over 40 years and just love it. So happy we found this wonderful house and fantastic hosts. We've already booked for next year!

Great place if you enjoy dirty floors, lumpy beds, and pretending the view makes up for everything else. Perfect spot — just wish the house matched the location.

The location near Moonlight Beach is great, but the home fell short in several key areas. Cleanliness was lacking, the spa wasn’t functional during our stay, and the furniture felt dated and uncomfortable. For the premium price, we expected much higher standards. Disappointing overall.

We spent an amazing Easter weekend here! The house is big, clean, with comfortable beds and spectacular views! The location is great, right at Moonlight beach and a very short walk to downtown Encinitas. We definitely hope to stay again!

Awesome time. Hosts are so thoughtful. Beach toys, boards, volleyballs, lots of beach chairs, all the towels, etc. thought of it all. Great hang and vista all week with family.

Our family of 4 spent a week at Ocean Blue in Encinitas. So happy to be back in Encinitas after an 8 year hiatus, we forgot how much we love the town & especially Moonlight Beach. The home we used to rent was sold so it was our first time using VRBO and finding (and taking a chance on) Ocean Blue. The house was absolutely fantastic. With multiple terraces overlooking Moonlight Beach and the Pacific Ocean, the house is large enough for 8 people, very clean and very well stocked both with all the house wear, bedding and towels, etc. you’d expect, but also beach accessories (chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, games etc). The house is perfectly situated literally about a 2 minute walk (if not less) until your feet are touching the sand of Moonlight Beach. The hosts of the home are delightful and were both very accessible for questions, as well as very welcoming with coffee and snacks (even a lovely bottle of Prosecco), a handwritten welcome note, all of which was very delightful and welcoming. The house was very clean and very well taken care of …. It is truly a “beach house”. It’s also in a perfect neighbourhood, very quiet and respectful and while close to the beach provides lots of solitude when you want it. Walks north through the gorgeous neighbourhood of Neptune Street and surrounding areas to Leucadia are beautiful and walks south take you along the ocean. So perfectly situated. Easy walk into town to great coffee shops, diners and restaurants. Highly recommend Ocean Blue for a beach holiday … the best of chill SoCal!!! And again thank you to the owner/host and the property management team for being so accessible and welcoming. We hope to return soon.

My friends and I stayed at this beautiful vacation home and had a wonderful time. Barefoot walking distance to a very nice public beach, and in a great area - quiet, but still with walkable food options. The house itself is spacious and comfortable, with 2 large master bedrooms, great views, a hot tub, and multiple decks with views of beach volleyball and the ocean.

ONE OF THE FINEST BEACH VIEWS AVAILABLE. Great place for multifamily vacation. Roof deck! Chaise lounge deck! Huge gathering room! Private bedrooms and cozy conversation nooks. Great location for walks on the beach, the myriad restaurants and shopping of Encinitas, and an hour from all the classic Southern California attractions.

Our stay at Ocean Blue Surf Sanctuary was even better than I imagined! 🌊🌴 The house is on Moonlight Beach which is the best beach for families in San Diego. The neighborhood is beautiful, and you can walk about 2 blocks through a neat little park or by Dave's Rock Garden to get to the "Encinitas 101" for shopping and dining. There are the best little local ice cream places, top restaurants, surf shops, local breweries, and of course good old taco shops too. It’s still the classic So Cal authentic experience. The beach house has privacy and beautiful ever-changing views from all directions. It’s the perfect place to just hangout, watch the beach, and feel like you're in a postcard. There are comfy lounge chairs on the outdoor decks. We took a ton of photos, made videos, and got some unbelievable pics of family together at sunset. Ocean Blue has so much room for everyone to have their space, but the well-equipped kitchen and dining area brought us all together for memorable family times. The furniture is classic family vacation home and has items that have been in the family for years. There are some old classic board games so you can show your kids what people did for fun before the internet. The spacious living room was perfect for hanging out and catching up, and the new saltwater hot tub was soooo nice, especially after a day at the beach. The best part of all was being able to watch family on the beach right from the decks, living room, kitchens, BBQ area. We had slightly elevated front-row seats to all the action – surfing, volleyball, sunset, and even dolphins! Ocean Blue Surf Sanctuary is a hidden gem that is unmatched on all fronts – location, space, privacy, and those incredible Moonlight Beach views. If you're looking for the ultimate family beach getaway, this is the place to be. Five stars aren't enough – it's a perfect 10! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Location, location, location!! Our trip could not have been better. Ellen is a terrific host and gave our family a ton of wonderful ideas and activities to do while in Encinitas. The house was perfect; stocked with lots of beach toys, sand chairs and even a wagon to haul gear to the beach. My sons surfed and boogie boarded all day and we played pool every night. The view from the decks was priceless. The house has so much character, we loved the different levels. Amazing beach views from every room. We can not wait to return next summer. Our only complaint, is the time went to fast. Thank you for making this one of our best trips ever!!! Don’t second guess yourself - rent this amazing beach house!! Best regards, The Z bunch
