Before I start, let me announce that I generally give good reviews for businesses unless I had an extremely bad experience. My experience here was not great. Let me explain; I booked an appointment with the owner for some braids on a Friday. After taking 2 buses to get there, I met another lady and she told me she couldn't braid my hair and that it was too late, it was 5pm which was my appointment time as agreed upon....there was some miscommunication about my appointment apparently. That should have probably been a warning sign for me. I didn't fret. I asked when I could come back to braid my hair and she(the lady I met, not the owner) told me to come back on Sunday at 10am. On Sunday, I got there at 9.30 am to meet the store closed....so maybe I came too early🤷‍♀️(eventhough their times show they open before 9am). I sat outside waiting....and waiting....and waiting...and waiting. I waited till 10:30am and called to find out what was going on....I called 3 times, tried leaving voicemails but their voicemail was full....the owner finally picked up on my third try around 10:45am. She apologized(fair enough) and told me she'll come by to braid my hair....I continued waiting and waiting and waiting till 11:30am. That's 2 hours of waiting to get box braids🤦🏾‍♀️. She then mentioned she'd give me a discount for the wait. Great. After getting the braids which she finished around 5pm( because she stopped mine to do someone else's hair a few minutes of starting mine) I asked the price expecting my discount and let me tell you...there was no discount 🙃 It was even more expensive than what I paid for at a different place for the same length and style of braids I got. Also their website prices Do NOT correlate with the price she quoted. I was asked by 4 different people at my workplace who wanted to go there-that's 4 potential customers and I narrated my ordeal and explained it's not worth it. I also mentioned the price I was charged and they all said it was too expensive (eventhough the lady said she "Gave" me a discount). People need to know that such businesses thrives on referrals...treat your customers well, please. Less

I tried to explain what I wanted, like avoiding big boxy areas in the front, but it seemed like she didn't listen. Even though I asked for the same style, color, and length I had before, my concerns were brushed off. To make matters worse, she was on the phone yelling the whole time, and in the rare moments I got a chance to talk, she didn't take my comments or listen to what I had to say. It made me wonder if both braiders treated me this way because I'm not part of the community or something! Despite trusting her skills at first, I was let down by the final result. There is no issues in my braids itself, but I had some personal preferences which none of them were met. The braids ended up way shorter than I wanted, and the style and color weren't what I asked for. The tiny braids on the big boxy areas didn't look good on me at all. Plus, I paid a lot for this service. While the braids themselves were done neatly, I left feeling really unhappy.
