With zero prior CrossFit experience and having only ever heard about how challenging CrossFit is, I was hesitant to give NewDawn a try. It’s been a while since I was “in shape” and have some old injuries/physical limitations. I’m so glad I gave it a try and am now hooked!For starters, the owners are amazing people who truly care about the community. Then there are the awesome coaches who encourage you to push forward, but also work within your limitations while being your biggest cheerleaders and keeping you motivated. Finally, the members here are so encouraging; from the CrossFit vets to the newbies, the environment is so welcoming and positive.NewDawn CrossFit truly meets you where you are, works within your abilities and limitations, and is just an amazing addition to our community. If I can do it anyone can!

I walked in to checkout their open house before they opened and within a few minutes of talking to Jordan and Amy, I knew this was the gym for me.I’ve checked out a few CrossFit gyms in the area, with the intent to find a gym to be apart of as well as a gym that I could potentially coach at. Of course pending on if the ownership would want me to coach as well as if I could see myself enjoying working with the staff/ownership. And like I said, it didn’t take long to know that I would enjoy being a member and hopefully a future coach.The owners are great people with their intent being to truly help others in the surf city community live a healthier life and that is something I think everyone could get behind!If you’re in the area, you should definitely swing by! Cant recommend this place enough!

I was so excited to see this CrossFit space open in Surf City. Jordan, Amy and all of the coaches (several!) are so welcoming. Coaches are seasoned, some having years of experience and showing a definite love for CrossFit and the community it’s known for. This new gym is already building a great community and providing an awesome place to work out. Whether you’re new to CrossFit or seasoned, it’s a good fit. Very encouraging and not at all intimidating. The space & equipment are brand new and very clean and organized! I enjoy it and would recommend for regular classes or drop in visits.

I hadn’t exercised for four years, basically post children. And I mean, I hadn’t done anything. I joined NewDawn to get back my fitness and build muscle. They offer daycare three sessions a week. I have a very clingy two year old who does breath hold on occasions. I was apprehensive about leaving her at first, but Sandy, Amy & Jordan are great with the kids. They have a separate room that shuts the kids away from the gym. My daughter now trots in and has a great time with the other kids!The coaches and other members are so welcoming - I highly recommend joining.
