My husband was a member of NBD and upon joining was told that he would be able to use the monthly credits toward any class on the schedule, including small group trainings. This really worked for our schedules, since he is often out of town for a week or two during the month, so being able to use the extra credits on a smaller class would have been great - HOWEVER - when he tried to do so, the app wouldn't let him book it and the person at the desk said that wasn't how his membership worked, even though he was initially told by a staff member that he would be able to use them that way. He has recently cancelled his membership, since we'll never be able to use the full credits, and was told in person that he wouldn't be charged the cancellation fee of the next month's membership and that someone from the gym would call and confirm that he wouldn't be charged. He never got a phone call and was charged the full month fee AFTER cancelling his membership. He's tried to call the gym and leave messages to have someone call and refund the fee, but no one has ever answered or called back. Really dissatisfied with our experience with NBD. Less

Instructions said to arrive 15mins prior and I did, however doors didn’t open until precisely 6am so I stood in the cold and rain for an unnecessarily long time. I drove a long way for this for this class and was really excited to check out this black owned and LGBTQ friendly facility, as promoted on class pass, but honestly don’t bother. Been a member of NBD for 5+ years. NBD is a great gym with a great atmosphere. Been fortunate to work with some top class trainers during my time but Coach Row stands out. He is a great trainer always looking to push me harder and genuinely takes a personal interest in my fitness goals.

My experience in this place is really good, and I really like to train with Row. I have learned a lot of skills from him, in addition to helping me accomplish my fitness goals. He has been very good at motivating me. More importantly, he takes the time to explain how to execute each exercise to me. Best classes I have taken in the Morristown area. Row is a great instructor who always challenges you and pushes you to ways you wouldn’t on your own. He always makes sure that you are challenging yourself and gets to know each client. Highly recommend for a rewarding workout.

They swindled me out of over a thousand dollars by falsely claiming initially that my membership was a three-month commitment when it was actually a recurring membership. Despite reaching out to the gym about this situation, I received nothing but excuses and explanations that did not address the problem. They presented me with a lot of pertinent information that I was never told at the start and claimed that the trainers provided this information, but I was not even informed about the cancellation process, or that one even existed, until a couple of weeks before my membership was supposed to end. Based on conversations with previous employees and members, NBD has a history of using deceptive sales tactics and preying on unsuspecting customers. Such practices are not only unethical, but they are borderline illegal and a disgraceful way to run a business. I strongly advise anyone considering NBD Training Zone to avoid them at all costs and not to give them any money. If you do choose to walk through their doors, make sure you have the opportunity to read any contract carefully and consider having a lawyer present. During my initial consultation, I was explicitly told that all memberships are three months long but can be canceled early if given thirty days’ notice. This implied that a 30-day notice would only apply before the end of a three-month membership. Additionally, I was told that the contract would continue beyond 3 months only if I explicitly expressed my desire to continue. However, with a little over two weeks left on my initial three-month contract, my trainer informed me that I had to fill out a cancellation request to avoid further charges, which had never been disclosed before. My cancellation was denied because it did not meet the 30-day window, which I had been misled into believing only applied to the early termination of a 3-month commitment. Consequently, I was forced to complete a fourth month of personal training sessions that I had never intended to take when signing my initial 3-month contract. The misrepresentation of the membership terms by your staff, the lack of transparency regarding the actual terms, and the failure to disclose the recurring nature of the membership are quite concerning. As a customer, it is reasonable to expect the gym to provide clear and upfront verbal communication of all terms and conditions. A reputable business should not require its clients to fact-check their information. NBD charges $1,080 per month for 12 personal training sessions on a 3-month contract. A company at this price point should not force clients into paying for an extra month when they specifically signed a contract that they were told was intended to run for 3 months. While I understand that businesses often have strict protocols for staff members, it is evident that these protocols are not consistently followed, particularly when owners and supervisors are not present. If NBD Training Zone genuinely values transparency, it is crucial that every employee accurately communicates the membership terms to customers, without omitting vital information or using ambiguous language. I joined NBD in February of 2021 and have enjoyed every workout! The trainers are great the workouts never get stale or boring. If you are looking to achieve your fitness goals, look no further then NBD.

Joined here about 2 months ago and love the facilities, Pilates, and large group classes. Coach Row is great, always pushing you to pick up heavier weights and encouraging you to keep going.

After 5 months of quarantine, and spending the past 6+ years being insecure about my body and never quite hitting my fitness goals (or making some progress on my own, and consistently losing it) I decided it was time to find a trainer and start taking exercise more seriously. Being somebody who is afraid of gyms and has spent all my previous gym experiences hiding in a corner on an elliptical at planet fitness, I was a little nervous walking into NBD for the first time for my consultation but very quickly that changed. I met with Brandon and knew by the end of the session that I wanted to sign up and make a commitment there. The staff in general is so warm and welcoming, but Brandon is proof that their trainers care so much about their clients and helping you achieve your goals and making real results and lifestyle changes happen. In the past 6 months I have lost 14.8 pounds, I have lost 7% of my body fat, and 5 inches around my waist. There have been more results too, however those are the most significant to me! I am so happy with my progress and so thankful for Brandon. Everything I have invested at NBD I’ve gotten back tenfold. Hi, I really enjoyed the class, and the trainer was so nice and patient with me as a beginner. I really like the class, it was different and it worked every muscle in my body. gym is awesome. plenty of equipment and all weights look brand new. started doing 1 on 1s with Tyler and I am getting back to weight I was lifting in college and will pass those goals thanks to him. He knows his stuff and is awesome to work with. When the gym is fully open go check it out!

I started going to Nbd in October of 2019 and had an amazing experience with the spt classes. I’m someone who needs to be held accountable (hence why I’ve typically always had a personal trainer), but also needs someone who understands and works around my limitations (ie bad knees). Past trainers have assumed my knee pain is because “I’m overweight” or “lazy” or “just didn’t want to do lunges” or worse, they would just stop doing any exercises that required knee movement because they didn’t know what to do instead. After years of searching, I finally found that good gyms (and trainers) do exist when I relocated to Boston, MA. But when I had to move to NJ, the search began again. It took me another 2 years of gym bouncing before I found NBD…and nearly a year (and almost 50 lbs) later, I’m still here! I had gained a lot of weight from back to back pregnancies and was ready to make a change (both mentally & physically), so I started off at NBD doing personal training sessions 3/x week with Laura. She is amazing and honestly I can’t say enough about her. Laura figures out what gets her clients to “tick” (for me it’s anything with a kettlebell)…but also how to keep workouts engaging (so while you might be working the same muscle each time, you’re using a different tool & different technique to keep it exciting). And when I hurt my back, Laura was incredible in helping me with the recovery, but more importantly, giving me the tools & knowledge needed to prevent future injuries. I've never stuck with a gym workout routine as long as I have this. I work with Keith for personal training and take Gabriela's pilates classes. Everyone is very nice, the gym and locker rooms are clean and the clientele is a nice mix of Morristown demographic. Great facility with nice central location. They offer many 30 minute classes which are great for working clientele and have full showers, changing areas and a blow dryer. Will Rosario is an excellent trainer who is well-versed in biomechanics and anatomy. Every workout is different and customized to my goals. Highly recommend!

I bought a Groupon to this gym and didn't even use it up because I was so disappointed in the quality of the classes I took. I'm really surprised by the high reviews on here. One class was supposed to be 30 mins and the instructor ended the class about 25 mins in -- no stretching or anything. It also doesn't seem like they care enough to adjust your form. I'd go elsewhere in town for a workout

Love the programs, classes, and personal training. They keep all of the classes short and impacted with energy. All levels of skill are welcome. This is not a gym to grunt and find meatheads... friendly and skilled trainers, 30 minute workouts and over 90 classes available every month. A must see environment to really understand their program.

Great facility and trainers - Variety in the classes is excellent. Only downside is that open gym is limited during peak hours due to the focus on personal and small group training.

NBD Training Zone is an amazing place to hit your goals and help you reach the best version of yourself. If you are serious about changing not only your fitness goals but your whole life in general, than I highly suggest you walk through those doors and talk to a fitness professional.

They will rip you off. You have to sign for a year contract and you can't change anything. If you try to cancel then you pay a cancelation fee. I couldn't even get the trainer I wanted after I signed up because she quit. The place is nice, but if you can't commit for a year watch what you sign up. I even reached out to the BBB about how they don't disclose their contracts right.

Honesty love the classes so much here! Its a small group fitness class and the trainers make sure that you can get a full workout within just 30 mins ! They kicked my butt ! Recently joined after a few too many months of inactivity. Love the 30 minute small group classes and the low key atmosphere. Website makes signing up for classes easy and surprisingly parking is easier than expected. So far so good!

I joined NBD in the middle of January and it's the best way I could have started off the new year! The trainers are fantastic. They push you to your limits and motivate you along the way. They offer a great variety of classes, which is what I needed to break up my boring routine of weight lifting. I'm excited to see how my body transforms throughout the next couple of months!
