This was my first visit to Dolan Dental and may have been my last. I got home and discovered that the front desk clerk who checked me out had done precisely the opposite of what I requested. I explained to her several times (because she didn't seem to understand) that I did not want to assign benefits to the dentist, please not to put even a period on the assignment line, that I always pay my bill in full and prefer to be reimbursed by insurance. I have been doing this for years with my previous dentist and it works perfectly. I should not have assumed she finally understood. Or maybe she just ignored me w/o telling me she couldn't meet my request. I also had trouble making them understand I wanted a copy of the insurance claim which they were filing electronically. When she told me my "payment today" was over $200 I should have questioned it but didn't since I had emphatically told her I wanted to pay the bill in full. I took the paper work w/o looking at it. My mistake, but I doubt they would have corrected it anyway.Sure enough, when I did look at the claim (nearly $500), she had typed in "Signature on File" on the assignment line, which I know from experience will automatically mean payment to the doctor. If it is this hard to explain this simple process to the front desk, expect them to follow it or tell me they can't, then I'm not sure I can use this dental group again. It was like pulling teeth to communicate with them (the pun is apropos) and even though I was quite clear, I got the opposite of what I asked and a sarcastic "You have a wonderful rest of your day" as I left. All in all, not the professionalism one would expect from a dental group.
