Uptown Assisted Living is a Gem! They are a small home environment with exceptional care. The residents have committed and kind care from each support staff member. They truly love our mom and do what they can every day to bring light into her life. They treat her as a part of their family. Each resident has a unique set of challenges related to their care. We see the lengths they go to so that each persons care is tailored. With a core care team the staff really know each residents needs and personality. My mother needed a safe place to recover from a serious surgery so I set out to find an assisted living facility that accepted respite care patients. I visited many facilities in Virginia and Maryland and Uptown was by far the best. The facility is clean and still feels like a home. The ladies on the staff took great care of my mother and made us all feel like family. My mother was able to recover with way better results that anyone expected and I am so thankful for the staff at Uptown for helping her get there. Less

Everything, literally everything about Uptown felt like a dream come true for our family when our mom became a resident. The decorating is lovely, tasteful, bright, homey, and clean. We loved visiting her there. Each meal prepared for her was delicious. There is a small number of residents so the caregivers can give more one-on-one attention, and we got to know all the staff and other residents like they were part of our family. Our mom never complained or expressed negativity. The professional caregivers were knowledgable and experienced, and best of all, kind and gentle and loving. The rotating staff of 6-7 primary caregivers all genuinely cared for our mom. The staff communication with us was exceptional, they were there whenever the family needed to talk. We truly felt like Uptown was a gift to us and our mom at one of the most difficult times of our lives. We will be forever grateful to them. Less

Hello, I am happy to write a review of Uptown Assisted Living. It is a lovely, warm and inviting home for the clients who live there. It is open spaced with plenty of room for the "family" members who live there to get around. There are home cooked meals which are enjoyed by the clients who live there, and family members can join in as well. There are lots of celebrations! Whenever it is someone's birthday, they have fun, food, and a very festive environment. The staff is warm and loving, funny and very nurturing. Maribel Alvarez has provided a wonderful alternative for families who are unable to care for the aging loved ones. Uptown Assisted Living is a loving and family environment. The home is clean and beautiful inside and outside. When I met with the owner regarding my dad residing at Uptown he had a very large and deep heal wound. It was at the point of him losing his foot. Maribel the owner and the nurse Jacinta unselfishly accepted my dad knowing the challenges they had ahead of them. From day one and to date, the attention to my dad's wound is 100%. My dad's wound has improved tremendously and the worry of him losing his foot is gone. We are so thankful for the care my dad is receiving from Uptown . My dad tells me often how happy he is and loves his new home. The entire staff are very attentive to the residents and treats them like family. We have no complaints and wouldn't change a thing.
