My dad and I were nine days into a 16-day motorcycle tour across the country when he had a heart attack. We spent the next several days at the University of Connecticut Medical Center. It was clear we wouldn't be able to finish the tour. The priority was getting my dad safely back home. I now also had two motorcycles almost 3000 miles from Utah where we live. I had spent an entire day trying to track down, purchase, or rent a motorcycle trailer for two bikes and something to pull it with. However, in rural Connecticut, my options were limited. I was eventually referred by Danbury Harley Davidson to Judy at Federal Motorcycle Transport. Judy patiently listened as I shared my situation with her. She demonstrated empathy and kindness when the stress of the situation caused me to get emotional during the call, and when she asked if she and her colleague could pray for my dad... her prayers were felt. I spent hours searching for a solution, and then I found Judy. Judy took care of everything. I had made arrangements to leave our bikes at Danbury Harley Davidson so I could fly back to Utah with my dad once he was released from the hospital. Judy took over from there. She made sure the bikes were picked up and kept me posted with daily updates, letting me know where our bikes were at the end of each day until they were safely returned to us. Stranded on the East Coast, running out of options, and concerned for my dad in the hospital - Judy's kindness that day left a lasting impression on me. Shipped 2 bikes from Phoenix AZ. Paid in full. At destination in Richmond VA., had to pay another $120.00 for flat bed tow truck as this facility had no way to lower the bikes to the ground from the warehouse. Staff there was not overly friendly. Service was great! They got my Harley from Central California to Southern Maine in 8 days, safe and sound! Be aware that pickup may only be 1 day of the week, and that you'll have to set aside 2 days (for example: I had to agree to set aside 2 consecutive Thursdays, and they ended up coming on the second one). Basically, plan this ahead, and know that pickup may not be on the day you want. Other than that, follow the instructions, and they'll do all the loading and unloading. Highly recommended! Less

I had the bike shipped to a transfer depot in Nashville. It was very inexpensive. Bike was loaded and strapped securely to a pallet. Delivery paperwork was very thorough. Everything was smooth. Super easy to deal with. Drop off of bikes at secure terminal was a breeze. They allowed for drop off ahead of payment which was nice since I wasn't able to get into my bank account at drop off time! They kept to delivery timelines as promised and tracking my bike was all in real time, providing ease of mind. I had initially scheduled for a terminal to door delivery but decided to pick my bike up at the terminal. Tessa made the process super easy so the guys at the warehouse were ready for me when I got there to grab my bike. Tessa also made sure that I got the refund for picking the bike up instead of shipping to my home address, which honestly I wasn't even expecting! They are all super helpful and friendly and don't hound you about selecting them as a shipper the way soooo many other companies do.... I have never transported a motorcycle before and Tessa was amazing in helping me through the process. The informative emails about what to do before hand, tracking information, calls from the drivers and updates where the bike was at was amazing. The bike arrived just how I left it, and I could tell it was well taken care of during transport and tied down very securely. Also seeing the other expensive bikes in the warehouse let me know I went with a trusted company. Making a payment was easy and the guys who helped at the warehouse were awesome. Now, I'm not sure if the front office of the Atlanta warehouse is affiliated with the company but the amazing communication I had experienced completely disappeared. I was never notified the bike arrived, I discovered that by checking the tracking. Every day for a week I tried calling both numbers provided on the quote and never reached anyone. I had left multiple voicemails and never received a call back. I tried emailing and did receive one email back that was not helpful in the least. A week after the bike arrived, I was livid at this point, and decided to show up at the warehouse because I was not able to reach anyone to set up an appointment. I want to reiterate that 95% percent of the experience was top tier, and that's why the company deserves a 4. If I was to rate the other 5 percent it would, without a doubt, be a 0. Less

I had an excellent experience with Federal. They apparently only pick up on certain days where my seller was located which made his scheduling a day off to have them load the bike very easy. Other haulers give you a 2-3 day window which is tough if you don't have a flexible schedule. The trip from CA to IN took only a week. Maybe I got lucky but maybe not. Their tracking shows progress between their hubs. It is not GPS precise but you do know how it is progressing fairly often. Scheduling the delivery was also great. I got a call with two day's notice when it would be in town. Then I got a call from the driver that morning with an approximate time and we coordinated the exact drop off point. And the driver was fantastic. He knew bikes, and had a lot of experience hauling them so he knew exactly what he was doing. The bike was strapped to a fabricated skid with good hard points. The straps were properly located and didn't scratch anything. I was really pleased to see this. I paid a little bit more for Federal but because of the structure of how they pick up and deliver, I was happy to pay more. I got excellent communication, predictability, reliability, and great service for those few extra dollars. I would not hesitate to recommend Federal to anyone. Less

I had the opportunity to use Federal Transport recently when moving a scooter from Florida to New York. I originally started looking for transport a couple of years ago and spoke with Mary W. at Federal for a quote. She was through, professional and very helpful in understanding what the move would involve. The quote provided was competitive but still the least expensive of the four that I gathered. The move didn't happen at that time but I was finally ready this month to ship the scooter. When I called back I was delighted to find Mary there and helpful as ever. She even had my quote still on file so all the information was ready to go. After discussing the new details of the locations for pickup and drop off I was delighted to find the price was less than the previous quote. (I checked back with the other companies I had called and they were all much more expensive.) At the time of pickup I received a call an hour in advance and they movers arrived exactly on time. I didn't have to worry about staying around all day waiting. Pickup was efficient and courteous with the movers documenting any damage so I had a thorough record. All through the transport process I received updates as to where the scooter was actually located so I felt comfortable that Federal was totally on top of things. For arrival - they again gave an advance call and arrived on time. Offloading was handled very well. This was a great experience and I highly recommend Federal Motorcycle Transport.
