We just finished out our fourth year with Kidwings for both of my boys. We love this school so so much and are so appreciative of everything that Sandra has created. Cannot recommend enough.

I wanted to take some time before leaving this review, to ensure it was thoughtful and informative. The majority of the teachers at KidWings are truly amazing. My son loved Ms. Adrianna and Ms. Mar especially and we were heartbroken to pull our child out abruptly. While the details of what happened will be kept confidential to protect the children involved, it is crucial for every parent to make an informed decision when choosing to enroll here. A child reported that sexual exploration happened at school that was far beyond what would be considered normal. As someone with 10+ years experience working with children, I have experienced situations similar enough to this to feel confident stating that. This happened more than once and with more than one child. This immediately raised concerns as to why there wasn’t better supervision. Additionally, why was this not communicated to all parents enrolled? Not only should the teachers be notified to keep an extra close eye, but the parents should have the opportunity to have important discussions with their children about bodily autonomy and what to do if they feel uncomfortable. How were children left alone long enough for something like this to happen? When this was brought to the Director’s attention, Sandra met the issue with denial and excuses. No CPS report was made by the mandated reporters, all parents were not notified and the main concern was protecting the brand. I then immediately began to share with Facebook groups and people that I knew who had their children enrolled as I know from experience that transparency in these situations is important for the safety of the children. Being open about what happened, who was affected, and what changes will be made to avoid this in the future only gives parents more comfort and opportunities to have important dialogues with their children and the people watching them for hours every week. It was only when she got wind of the posts that she decided to share with *some* of the parents. The lack of transparency and the defensiveness, ultimately lead us to feeling like this school was not safe for our son. I know certain things are completely out of the control of teachers, directors, and any child care providers. However, the communication provided to parents, who are trusting these providers with their entire world, is the most important thing. This is not the first instance I have learned of the Director keeping things from other parents and I caution anyone who is considering enrolling here.

We are very happy with this outdoor school and everything they do for our family. Our daughter is 5 and a half years old, and she truly loves being there. The environment is caring, supportive, and full of engaging activities that help her learn and grow. All of the teachers are wonderful—kind, attentive, and dedicated. A special thank you to Miss Emmy, who is our daughter’s favorite. She has made such a positive impact, and we really appreciate her warmth and enthusiasm. We are grateful to be part of such a great community and highly recommend this school to other families.

I could not recommend Kidwings any more to any parent that feels unsure of where to send your children. My son has his own challenges and the teachers give him the loving attention he needs without ever making it seem like a burden. Every morning they look genuinely happy to see the kids and give the same compassion you would want to give your own child. I am not exaggerating to say I’ve cried happy tears to know that he’s well taken care of here… i wish i got this experience as a child, and it just feels so right to be able to give him this experience. My previously shy kiddo has gained confidence, comfort in nature and his own skills, and the understanding that there are other loving and safe adults that will support him outside of his parents. I could never repay what kidwings has done for him, i’m just so happy i chose to send him here.

Kidwings Nature School is very easy to navigate and special. We have been going for about 4 years. My daughter and I have developed so many strong friendships within this wonderful community. The outdoor atmosphere has strengthened my daughter’s love for respecting our planet and nature. I enjoy every aspect of this Nature School and highly recommend enrolling your child.

There are not enough words to express how much our entire family loves KidWings. The teachers are absolutely incredible. The teachers’ kindness, wisdom, intention, and love that they share with our son has created in him a joyous understanding of school, community, and friendship. His days are full of adventures, stories, creations and learning. He brings home beautiful crafts made of natural materials that are forever keepsakes; he gains strength through his daily nature walks; he grows into responsibility by caring for and carrying his backpack; he learns how to adapt to weather, not avoid it; he collaborates with his classmates in play; he feels supported by his teachers; he feels at home. Our family enjoys the seasonal parties, the birthday celebrations, and the varied locations of his roomless class. Our son started at KidWings when he was three. Now that he is turning five we decided we can’t leave. KidWings is now a main support to his homeschool experience. Through experiential learning he is a master tree climber, an early reader, a Spanish speaking beginner, an innovator, a lover of nature, and a good friend. If you take a look at KidWings as an option for your child you will be amazed at what you find! A true gem in our city!

So glad I came across Kid Wings, this school was everything we hoped for, for our daughter's childhood. From summer camps, to the regular school year, having her learn through nature is a dream come true. The organization and the care from the teachers is top notch, and we also greatly appreciate being around like minded individuals. Thank you KidWings ❤️

I absolutely love working at Kidwings Nature School! We are creating a profound impact on the kids by enriching their minds, bodies, and souls through meaningful connections with nature. We get to explore many parks around San Diego, and it feels like an adventure every time! The kids play together, learn something new every day, and grow in so many ways. We even have a homeschool in nature program where the kids get to learn about different cultures at the International Houses in Balboa Park and do community service projects at senior centers, Feeding San Diego, and horse ranches. What makes Kidwings Nature School truly unique is that, in addition to our nature-based classes, we also offer empowerment classes on the weekends for both girls and boys. These classes cover a variety of topics designed to build confidence and foster a sense of connection--to themselves and to one another. On top of that, we create highly intentional mother daughter ceremonies and a "My First Moon" summer camp! I would highly recommend this Nature School and feel so grateful to be part of such an incredible community! It is truly a magical, life-changing, and joyful experience!
