The Forge

TL;DR - Great friendly atmosphere, incredibly attentive coaching staff, diverse programming, 1-1 sessions available for training and goal setting. InBody Scans to track your progress. Being able to see that the number on the scale isn't going down because I'm losing fat and building muscle is a great motivator. No hyperbole, The Forge has been a legitimate life changer for me. It started a couple years ago when I was interested in joining a CrossFit gym, I had a no sweat intro phone call with Chris. Let him know what my plans were and where I wanted to go fitness wise. I was ready to commit to a free workout, then a life event happened that took my attention away from my fitness goals.Like any good sales person, Chris reached out a couple of times to check in on my goals and most importantly following up after I let him know about my life event. Those check ins became more than a sales motion, it showed that Chris cares about helping people. Fast forward to February 2026 and I got a text message from the gym citing a free work out. On a Sunday. At like 7:30AM. I forced myself to go and I'm glad I did. The atmosphere was great, being thrown into a team workout with members and non-members was great. I signed up immediately.I am a former Crossfit Level 1 Certified Trainer Person, whatever they were calling it at the time but when I went through on ramp I decided to trust the process learn how the gym works and get slowly re introduced to fitness again, put the ego aside and just do the baseline work to join general classes. That learning process was great getting reintroduced to the 9 foundational movements etc, it was just great to be moving again.Included with my membership there is a monthly InBody scan, I cropped the latest results that I have for this review. I've been a member for less than 3 months and I've lost double digit pounds, I've lost fat and gained muscle. I couldn't be happier. One surprising thing, you have a coach that is assigned to you when you join. They are responsible for walking you through your goals. I thought it was a bit corny at first but I chose to embrace it. Having that extra accountability is motivating. Coach Vanessa checks in with me weekly, making sure I'm holding myself to the standard I've set in our goal setting session. One last thought, while they used to be a Crossfit affiliate they have since gone independent, having been a part of that system before, I think it's a great move. I learned that Barbell Snatches aren't part of the rotation but that's what open gym is for, and if you want some custom programming you can always ask. The methodology is largely the same, and if you live in the area and aren't utilizing this fantastic health and fitness resource you are missing out.
