I contacted confident canines in hopes to train my aggressive 2 year old lab. I was very skeptical because she had not been socialized as a puppy and did not do well around others. Not only was Fabria the nicest individual ever she guaranteed that her trainers could help. I spoke to other dog trainers in the area and did not receive confident answers. When we first met my dog lunged, tried to nip, and was just her overall grumpy self. Aaron was not fazed, and was able to correct her immediately. Great experience! The very first day of training we had completely different dogs. They learned to walk behind us, sit when we stop walking, and today was the biggest win- a calm dog at the dog park! Our trainer Aaron was amazing! We were skeptical that our big, 1and a half year old rambunctious, rescue pup could be trained. He barked, jumped, and pulled on his leash. He didn’t behave without treats, and then rarely so. Aaron showed us how to make him a well behaved member of our family (without treats). He can now walk off-leash and doesn’t bark or jump anymore. I can’t say enough good things about Confident Canines and Aaron. I was in a desperate situation with 4 dogs and none trained and one being a bait dog and 10yrs old, I call and talked for an hour with them about my situation and discovered a lot of my stress and the stress of my older dog was coming from two untrained puppies in the home. We decided to work with Glory our Pit/Bully mix who had previously failed at training (I later learned they failed to train me so it wasn’t Glory’s failure). She was known as a bit of an puppy a**hole but loveable. When Aaron started with us, Glory could not even walk on a leash. I am proud to say, today, my little puppy a*hole graduated training and has proven to not only be smart BUT enjoys “working”. She LOVED when Aaron would come bc she knew she was getting full attention and loved to have structure. Today we found out she is a water dog too!!! We have a very smart but stubborn Australian Shepard mix named Ed. We RV a lot and Ed had become very leash aggressive. We contracted Confident Canine Training and they sent Aaron to work with us. We contacted Confident Canines when we had our Finley (cocker spaniel puppy) groomed by a mobile groomer and was told "he was horrible - get a trainer" -- Yikes!! Our large GSD became dog aggressive after complications from surgery put him in the veterinary hospital for a couple of days. After he recovered, we could no longer walk him without fear that he would charge another dog. It took everything we had to restrain him. A week or so later, our GSD broke his collar and got away from us when he lunged forward to charge a neighborhood dog. My husband had to physically tackle him to get him under control. We have never had a pet that required training before, so this was uncharted territory. After interviewing multiple companies, we decided on Kyle Weaver with Confident Canines. We did an 8 week training with him and I cannot believe how big the changes were!! Here is the rundown of our experience: 1.) He comes to your house!!!! 2.) He doesn’t do a “cookie cutter” training. He trains based off of our feedback and behaviors we wanted addressed and goals for things we would like to do with our dog 3.) Rocky was chained up for his whole life, so he had terrible dog manners, did not listen, food aggressive, and would basically choke himself out on a leash. 4.) After training, Rocky no longer jumps, nips, walks beautifully on leash, can now take walks OFF LEASH 😁, can trust him to just hang out with us in the front yard and not chase passerby’s, we have taken him to restaurant patios and stores with no pulling, and worked through food aggression. Plus with the structure, a lot of Rocky’s anxiety and issues naturally went away. 5.) On our last training, Kyle even brought 2 of his associates’s dogs to work through dog aggression issues that have recently arose. He showed us how to handle situations and how to stop aggressive behaviors. Rocky even got nipped at by another dog yesterday and he just backed away 😲🤯 I say all of this in this LONG post to bring home this point. Yes, good dog training is kinda expensive. We just completed an 8 week training program with Confident Canines. Kyle is very knowledgeable in understanding dog behaviors and how to work past issues. He started out working through basic commands that can be applied to daily life and grew from that with every session. Recently I got a rescue dog from a homeless shelter, her owner had passed away. She was very hyper and would run off all the time and was very skittish. She trusted no one an was always uneasy. Impressive is a good place to begin with regards to Confident Canines. Upon meeting owner and trainer, Kyle Weaver, I was immediately put at ease as we discussed my particular issue. I had a rescue dog that i had managed to bring along to a certain point, but i did not possess the skill set needed to deal with our other areas of concern. Just like most, i wanted to be able to take my dog out in a public setting and have her behave and mind my commands. However, she and i were not on the same path! I reached out to Confident Canines and was very impressed with our initial consultation. Kyle observed us and made some corrections and then we discussed what i saw as our problem areas: coming on command, walking on and off leash, and other commands. His standard training starts with a two board-and-train where i left her with him for 2 weeks. After that time we met at a park where he showed me what they had worked on and gave me my lessons as well. We had a few follow up sessions and continue to do so for those little corrections and to take us further in our training. Since this time, my dog obeys on command, has stopped running off, behaves on and off leash and is generally a very happy and content girl.
