The Pyramid Roofing team came and installed a new roof on our home in June of 2023. The installers arrived early and got right to work. After stripping off the old roof the foreman came to me and told me that a few pieces of plywood sheathing had been identified as needing replacement and made sure to show me pictures of the issue to make sure that I understood why they were being replaced. The new roof was then installed with the whole process taking approximately 7-8 hours from start to finish. We only wound up paying a few hundred dollars over the initial estimated price due to the cost of replacing the 2-3 plywood sheets and re-nailing the existing sheets. I can't speak to the longevity of the roof as it's only a month old at the time of writing, but it's held up against the rain pretty well so far. Overall the Pyramid Roofing team did good quality work for a reasonable price. You can rest assured that they will install and/or fix your roof the right way. Less

What and awesome job! Shawn and the Pyramid crew did a superb job replacing a 33 year old fairly complex roof. I chose Pyramid after several proposals. Pyramid was not only the most competitive, but included GAF system products that are best in industry. For example, shingles with a "Infinite" wind rating and a lifetime warrantee (I didn't know that even existed). The roof was sealed and completely covered, valleys and ridges with a barrier, then 3 strips of ice shield, halfway up the roof, then another GAF cloth barrier up to the peaks. They re-flashed the chimney with lead flashing, better job than original. The crew worked together like a well oiled machine. Also polite and easy to communicate with. Everything was done in a day, including thorough cleanup. Only issue was a skylight got slightly dislodged, I assume during shingle removal. A small area of drywall cracked next to a corner of the skylight. I called Shawn and he had that taken care of within days by a professional drywall company. The guy who came out to do the inspection and measurements was super friendly and provided me with a whole pile of brochures and other materials, such as samples etc. No pressure, no hassle; just efficient and friendly. Other contractors provided brochures too, but no one else bothered to take as much care in doing so. The packet of information that I received from Pyramid looked like it had been prepared by a high end marketing firm. It immediately separated Pyramid from the rest. It included scores of reviews and even videos made by an independent company awarding Shawn with an award (more than once!) for Best Roofing Contractor! It was very impressive. But it was after I hired Pyamid where Shawn demonstrated a level of decency and professionalism that I had never experienced before in all of my interactions with other contractors. We all know that the worst part about having to hire someone to do expensive work on our homes is somehow trying to figure out whether we can trust them not to just rip us off. Believe me, you can trust Shawn to be a man of his word! He inadvertently made a mistake in the estimate he provided, in my favor, not his. We all make mistakes, right? But not many of us would do this: Shawn still honored his estimate! He told me, "It was my mistake. You shouldn't have to be affected by it." I was so impressed! Then one of his crews showed up (not hired temps but a crew who are all employees of Shawn's) and finished the job superbly in one day. It looks phenomenal! And then incredibly Shawn impressed me even more so. I climbed up on my lower deck roof one day to clean leaves out of the gutters. I happened to come upon a very slightly damaged shingle. It had a small piece torn off but it would never have been a problem. Had it been on the main roof, I never would have even seen it; no one would have, that's how insignificant it was. But to me it was like finding a scratch on a brand new car! So I emailed Shawn a photo and asked if it could be fixed. Afterwards I kind of felt foolish about it, since it was such an insignificant tear. But Shawn's reaction was, "No problem. I'll send someone right out." I felt like an idiot watching his guy repair it, but man was I ever impressed with Shawn and Pyramid Roofing afterwards! Because it mattered to Shawn. From beginning to end, the big stuff and the small stuff . . . it all mattered to Shawn. Now in my experience that's not something you commonly get from most other contractors. The quality of the new roof is top-notch too and the price was comparable to others. I had my roof replaced the week before Memorial Day 2022. Shawn had an opening and we had an event planned at our house for the long weekend so I thought it would be something to talk about with friends, of which a couple were considering getting their roofs done. The dumpster company Shawn used did not have any drivers available to pick the dumpster up at the end of the week, as I was told by the driver the next week most all of the employees takeoff for the Memorial Day weekend, every year. So, we had a dumpster sitting diagonally across our driver for an extra week after the roof was completed. If I had known this would have occurred I would have waited until after the long weekend. Two cars were damaged by scraping against the dumpster trying to maneuver, a dozen plus, vehicles around by guests during our event. This did not sit well with me or my guests whose cars were damaged. My issue with the work was the nail cleanup. After the dumpster was picked up it appeared as if the dumpster had a whole in it because my driveway had nails scattered from the garage to the street. The tire protection coverage on my wife's car repaired the flat tire she received from roofing nails (yes plural) in the tire. That repair only required my time. The roofing nail that punctured a new (less than 25 miles on the tire) $300+ motorcycle tire required my time to replace the tire and another $300+ for the new tire. Throughout the summer I made it a weekly event walking around the house and picking up nails against the house. Every time it rained I could walk to the gutter downspouts and pick up a bunch of roofing nails (old and new nails). I'm not sure if they just left all the nails that didn't fall to the ground in the gutters or what. Our deck sits about 4 feet off the ground, they never checked under the deck or on the deck because I've pulled a lot of nails from between the boards. I purchased a magnet to drag under the deck to try and pick up as many nails under and limit the chance of our dog stepping on a nail. Last weekend I was walking around the house again (19 Nov), 6 months after and picked up another 7 nails. At least I think the rain has finally washed all the nails out of the gutters because I have not found any at the downspouts after the last rainfall. Would I use them again. I do not know. The roof work was done really well. I would not schedule the work near a holiday. I'm not sure I want to deal with all the nails again. Once you add all the time I've spent dealing with nails and the cost of my motorcycle tire, I just do not know if it was worth it. Shawn, I said the roofing job was good my issue is with all the nails. If I had written this at the beginning of June all you would have got from me was negative comments. I know I did not contact you because the nails continued to upset me every time I pick some up. I never blamed you for the damage to the cars, that was my spouse and guests trying to move vehicles around the dumpster and not wanting to bother others during the party. If you think the damaged cars are an exaggeration, you are more than welcome to stop by the house to view one of the damaged vehicles, it is still not repaired, sitting in my garage. As a business owner you should be open to constructive feedback without getting defensive. I hope you continue to do well in your business. Less

And working with Shawn was easy and pleasant. In fact, we decided to add two solar tubes while replacing the roof. We had the dumpster and materials on site in about three weeks. And the crew showed up the following Monday. The had the roof completely stripped and the ice shield installed the first day. They finished the second day including installing both solar tubes. I was able to walk around the house with the foreman and talk about where the problems were with the previous roof and what was done to resolve it. The entire process happened in the fall and was completed before thanksgiving. The bottom line is that we got a quality roof installation at a good price by a competent and professional crew. Pyramid roofing was my 3rd estimate. Pyramids salesman "Chris" came to my house and inspected my roof and in a no pressure way told me what I needed and what I didn't need. He left me with a sales packet which contained all of Pyramids reference's. Note Pyramid has a AAA+ BBB rating which I checked out =true as well as his references again =true. In the packet was also the information on GAF's "Golden Pledge Warranty"which is one of the best if not the best warranties in the roofing industry and is also transferable and free. One day later I received a detailed estimate from the owner of Pyramid Mr. Shawn Schwotzer. I reviewed the estimate. There were a few issues that I emailed/ called Shawn about before finalizing. On each issue Shawn (the owner not anyone else) emailed and or called me back if not the same day the day after.For one of the few times in my life I didn't feel as if I was "annoying"a contractor.I and decided to go with Pyramid. He was competivly priced and again detailed. Shawn told gave me a start date and kept in contact as to when the dumpster and materials etc would arrive. The job took 3 days. Shawns crew was fast ,accurate, and detailed in clean up. In all a good overall experience. This past week, I had to call Pyramid because a leak appeared from a skylight that they did not install but was present when the roof was completed with GAF Roofing with a 50 year expected life. It was a minor leak due to a nail lifting over time. Shawn returned my call the same day. He sent someone out the following day who found and diagnosed the problem. Chris went above and beyond diagnosing and fixing the leak. He checked and cleared my gutters and removing some bird nests and adjusted the gutters. This is better than excellent service and beyond what I ever expected when I chose this professional organization to replace the roofing material on my home. I called Pyramid Roofing to get an estimate on replacing the shingles on my roof, and in about a day or so they had someone at my house with a ladder to take measurements for an estimate. A couple days after that Pyramid emailed me a very straight forward quote and called to go through it to make sure I understood everything including the parts for removing the unnecessary vent fans and cutting down the chimney to below the roof line. It took a couple of weeks to have the supplies delivered and a dumpster dropped off. After that they estimated it would take them 2 days to finish the job. It ended up taking 3 days of work to finish, but the extra day did not change the price and they picked a stopping point where they had finished half of the roof and not started the other half so none of the roof was left bare during the storm that hit the next day. They were back bright and early the day after the storm and finished the job. Once it was done they asked me to take a walk around to make sure I was pleased with their work. All in all they were great guys to work with, a very reasonable price and they did a great job on my roof. Less

Tuesday a crew of 5 showed up at 7:30AM and worked tirelessly in high heat and humidity. By the end of Tuesday, the old shingles were gone, and the new shingles, except for the roof vent and small roof area over my garage were complete. Wednesday morning the crew came at the same time and finished the job by the end of the day. On Thursday the dumpster was gone. The crew took pains to drape the house, so there was no damage to the siding or gardens, They moved all the furniture and plants on the deck, and when they left everything was returned to its original place, and the clean up was so thorough that you would never know they were there. The new roofing materials were installed with exceptional craftsmanship. They cut in and installed a new ridge vent along the entire peak as I requested. The team replaced cement siding shingles that I provided for those that were previously cracked, missing, or damaged during the roof replacement. I carefully inspected the yard and job thoroughly upon completion and I was very very pleased with the quality of the entire project. Pyramid Roofing’s estimate was well below the other estimates. The owner of Pyramid Roofing, Shawn, could not have been more professional. When Pyramid Roofing inspected the roof prior to the estimate, they discovered that the cast iron roof vent was damaged and that it would need to be fixed by a plumber. I knew that trying to coordinate the plumbing work with the roofing work might be difficult but I was pleasantly surprised.
