Jim was a great host!

Elkwood was the perfect place for an intimate wedding. Our guests all stayed at the manor or across the street at an Airbnb. The location was magical and the food was amazing! We loved working with the owners and staff. Everyone was incredible. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting. We highly recommend this venue to anyone wanting the perfect mountain wedding!

They have a room full of decorations and linens to pick from, all the tables, chairs, dinnerware, the wait staff, and bartender! All of that saved me from having to find rentals, hire people, and bring more stuff with us from Texas. Odilia also orchestrated our rehearsal, so add coordinator onto the list of everything they provide! Plus, they recorded our ceremony so we will have that to cherish forever. In August of 2024 my husband and I stayed at Elkwood Manor Bed & Breakfast for our 45th anniversary. It was the perfect place for us to be. It was a quiet and peaceful setting. The charming manor is tucked away in some trees. It has large windows and decks that look out over the most beautiful scenery of meadows and mountains. We spent a good amount of time soaking up the view and watching the many dozens of hummingbirds buzzing around the porch feeders. Pagosa Springs is just a few minutes north with lots of things for us to do and places to eat. There are also many outdoor activities in the area. We particularly enjoyed driving through the mountains and stopped for a short hike up to Treasure Falls. The weather while we were there was fantastic. The pine scented air was cool and refreshing to our souls. Inside the well-kept manor we enjoyed the great room which is where we experienced delicious gourmet meals as well as late afternoon drinks and appetizers. The five large bedroom suites are wonderfully decorated complete with a small refrigerator, coffee maker and fresh purified water. We stayed in the elegant Shogun Suite. Everything was clean and fresh. The hosts, Jim and Odilia were awesome. They are warm, welcoming and fun to be with. They are the most relaxed hosts we’ve ever come across. They also have loads of recommendations of where to eat and activities to take part in. We had such a splendid time visiting with them. Jim and Odilia were very attentive to making our visit pleasant, comfortable and enjoyable. I was here for a luncheon so can't speak on the rooms, but the location is divine and the ambiance was wonderful. We were treated to a fabulous lunch spread, and their chef did a amazing job. I would highly recommend (and will be booking a room soon, to enjoy!)

My family had a spectacular time here. The hosts are gracious, kind and detail oriented. The home cooked breakfast was extraordinary as are the rooms. The evening cocktails were an unexpected surprise.

My husband and I visited the lodge last week for a much needed vacation. The view from our bedroom porch and from the porch off of the main room were breathtaking. I enjoyed a morning two mile walk up the road adjacent to the lodge while again enjoying the breathtaking views. The breakfasts were delicious- with a bit of Brazilian flair. Hospitality unmatched! We are leaving with so much more than a wonderful lodging experience. But let’s start there. It began with efficient online booking. Our room is just as described with details about amenities presented clearly and accurately. A brief phone call was all it took to have one or two questions pleasantly answered. We were kindly greeted on arrival; checkin went smoothly; and we were quickly shown to our room. The “Wilderness Loft” suite has so many special features. From a private balcony that affords morning mountain vistas and evening star-gazing, to a separate sitting area that allowed one of us to turn in and the other to read in a cozy chair, to a well-stocked bathroom with a fantastice shower, to a comfortable king canopy bed. With the mini fridge and coffee maker in the room, we could’ve stayed put, but we’re glad we didn’t. Instead, we enjoyed the beautiful bright Great Room where coffee, tea, and mimosas accompanied delicious breakfasts. Cocktails were served along with delightful happy hour appetizers. You can even order a fabulous dinner for a very reasonable additional price. We did, and you really should. Elkwood Manor’s accommodations and spectacular views are not to be missed, BUT what took this from seriously excellent lodging to a truly special experience was the fact that we made some amazing friends who we’ll surely visit again and again. Jim and Odilia embody true hospitality. Their care and attention to detail is delivered with genuine warmth and friendliness. We enjoyed many conversations. They offered suggestions for fun excursions nearby that did not disappoint. But really, just spending evenings on the deck chatting, sipping, and giving sweet Kate the cat an occasional scratch behind the ears was perfect. These are incredibly special people who sincerely understand that a job worth doing is worth doing well. We look forward to returning to Elkwood Manor. Less

A beautiful log cabin in an incredible setting with full view of the Rocky Mountains. Jim and Odilia were fantastic hosts -- very welcoming and accommodating to our needs. Thanks for a wonderful vacation last week. The breakfasts were amazing. We loved spending time just watching the humming birds. The location is very convenient to get into Pagosa when needed. Wonderful location with breathtaking view. Odilia's breakfast creations were the perfect start to our mornings. Room was perfect bed was excellent; jacuzzi tub and shower in the bath with a double sink vanity. Highest marks all around.

We felt like honored guests at Elkwood Manor. Jim and Odellia are the perfect B&B hosts. The views are amazing, the food was delicious, and Kate, the cat, welcomed us warmly. The bed and bath linens are luxurious, the decor country, without feeling crowded. We will definitely look forward to another visit.

Had a wonderful stay at Jim and Odilia's lovely B&B! They are great hosts, interesting and interested in us and ensuring we had a great stay. We arrived late so they extended the complimentary happy hour for us. The rooms were welcoming, bed and pillows very comfortable, and Odilia fixed a delicious breakfast making sure our eating preferences were met. Will definitely be back!

My wife and I started our 30th anniversary hiking trip through Colorado by staying with Jim and Odilia. The place itself is very conveniently located to anything in Pagosa and also to various hikes. The facility is visually appealing and the hosts are far and away the nicest, most accommodating people you could ever meet. Just so happened it is the beginning of the season and we were the only guests for two nights. We were downright spoiled with the attention we received. Took full advantage of the happy hour (two hours actually) which included some amazing appetizers and open bar. Our first night we decided to take advantage of the in house dinner menu and it was terrific as well. Tried the filet with mushroom risotto and also the beef stroganoff with rice. We both shared and enjoyed immensely. Dessert was vanilla ice cream with an amaretto/maple sauce. I would drink that with a straw by the way. I was even given seconds on dessert, thanks Jim. We had the loft room in the main house which has its own balcony, fireplace, bathroom, AC unit, sitting area, etc, etc, etc. They think of all the touches including drinking water, smart TV, a fridge, and even simple things like eyeglass cleaning wipes in the room. Very comfortable room, king bed, and overall feel. I should probably mention that each morning we had a custom gourmet type breakfast. Odilia likes to cook and she is good at it. Our last morning we even took our breakfast out on the main deck and enjoyed the breathtaking views. We went hiking that morning and they even let us check out a little late so we could shower up before moving on to our next city. Speaking of which, we were also able to request a to go lunch for our hiking days. Food was great and plentiful. Became lunch and snacks for the day. Big thanks to Jim and Odilia. Once you’re a part of this home, you are family. While I was there, each day they had someone who had stayed there before, just come by to say hi and have a drink. These were just regular people, that weren’t staying at the time but they were nearby and came to the manor to just check in and have breakfast, or have an appetizer because the atmosphere is second to none and it feels like Europe and at the same time you don’t want to leave. My husband and I stayed here for our elopement trip! If I could give them 10 stars, I would! We originally planned a big wedding with family and friends, but then decided that the stress and planning just wasn't what we had in mind for our big day. We found Jim and Odilia's B&B after looking at several different places, that just didn't have everything we needed. I reached out to them with questions, and I honestly expected to get another auto-generated email like I had from other elopement venues. Instead, I received a personalized email from Odilia herself. She answered every question I had, and then some. I knew right away this was the place we needed to have our elopement. After months of anticipation, and great communication with Odilia, we arrived at the most beautifully serene B&B I have ever seen! We were greeted with a hug from Odilia, who immediately felt like family! After getting settled in, we were then greeted downstairs by both Jim and Odilia for Happy Hour! We sat and talked details of the wedding, that was the next day, and ended up talking for a couple of hours with them. They had taken care of every single detail of our wedding. We didn't have to lift a finger the entire time we were there. Odilia had arranged my hair and makeup, ordered and picked up our cake and flowers, decorated the living room/dining space of the B&B beautifully to match our colors and decor. The ceremony was everything we could have dreamed of and more. Jim was the officiant, and he made the script and flow of the ceremony so perfect! He really got to know my husband and I in the short time we got to spend with them, and we felt like the script spoke so true to us as a couple. They were able to live stream the ceremony for us, as it was just the two of us with our families watching from our hometown. The photographer they had set up for us was also amazing!! He was very detailed, and really captured the day for us! Not only did they have everything set up magically, but Odilia prepared the most delicious meals for us for dinner!! It was everything we hoped for and more!! I would highly recommend them for hosting your wedding, or even just a fun getaway trip! The room we stayed in had everything we needed as well. You definitely won't go without here! They truly know what they are doing. I will forever be grateful we chose Elkwood Manor to get married! Amazing breakfast! I would highly recommend the dinner options as well especially if you are coming during a busy weekend or week where it might be hard to find tables in town without a long wait. This was our first time in Pagosa Springs. I booked a trip for my husband and I as a last minute Christmas getaway. We were unable to spend Christmas with any family due to the situation with COVID and decided if we were going to be "alone" for Christmas we might as well be snowboarding. After a bit of research I stumbled upon Elkwood Manor, it wasn't the least expensive place to stay but I estimated with breakfast included and a daily happy hour it would be similar to some of the cheap chain hotels nearby and the cost of going out to eat every meal. After nearly a week of staying at Elkwood Manor I can easily say we will never stay anywhere else in Pagosa Springs. It was more than worth it and we will be coming back (as soon as possible). Not only do I think we saved money by staying here the food was far better than anything in town with a spectacular view in a beautiful dining room. Did I already mention the food? Every meal was outstanding and prepared with what can only be described as a true passion for cooking. Our hosts are true foodies. The property was extremely clean, our hosts took proper COVID precautions and we felt extremely comfortable from the moment we arrived. We stayed in the San Juan suite which was spacious and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the hot tub was perfect after a long day on the slopes. Others have written it was like staying with friends. I'd say it was like staying with long lost family we didn't know we had. The food was amazing, the hospitality was unmatched, the conversation was lively and the atmosphere was a Christmas dream. We didn't spend Christmas alone after all! Less

We couldn't ask for a more beautiful place to be married. With no fewer than three rainbows and the mountains in the background we were lucky enough to get a ceremony that was simple and elegant. This was absolutely the perfect place for us to say our vows. You might not be sure for yourself, but I'll tell you now, you will not be disappointed. The only thing they can't wrangle is the weather, but they absolutely had everything else under control. Our final comment, the food was delicious. Everything Odilia made was amazing. Get the vatapa. My stay with Jim and Odilia exceeded my expectations. They were so very kind to me as I was feeling poorly. They went out of their way to nurture me. The food was delicious, much of it from their garden. If you want to get away, you can sit on the porch with one of the more spectacular views in the area and unwind.

Response to the owners reply—FYI, we have not used NOR we received any information about Apple TV, Netflix or Amazon prime that you were insisted that we are so happy about. The cable tv wasn’t out of service unexpectedly upon our arrival. You told us the following morning that you are having an on going issue with direct tv even thou your cable fee was already paid in full that month. I believe you were mistaken us for other guests. We did not leave unexpectedly before breakfast as a matter of fact we had left at exactly 11 am. You informed us the night we arrived that we can have breakfast anytime at our convenience. By the way I have stated in my review that the food was good. It supposed to be a 4 star B&B but you didn’t even have a complimentary facial tissues inside our room. You did have every opportunity to inform us about the situation when you’ve made a phone call to us an hour before our arrival. That is why it was extremely unacceptable. If we had known that evening when we arrived about the other option I would not have left a negative review. But, thank you for your “exemplary” service and effort. Less

Stayed here a few years ago with our exchange student. The service was fair but we felt a bit uncomfortable. The food was okay, the menu needed to be updated a bit. As we were leaving the owner thought I was taking one of the bed pillows, I was highly offended by this! At the time the Elkwood Manor Bed and Breakfast was for sale. Hopefully management has changed and the service has improved.

Outstanding first class Colorado Ranch bed and breakfast lodging. Million dollar View of a fantastic pasture and stunning mountain range in the near distance. Our hosts are a very gracious couple (manager/owners). Absolutely I must visit if you're within 100 miles.

By far the best reservation I ever booked !!!! We stayed 5 nights on June and was worth the $. Odilia and Erika are the sweetest, they met all our needs and the our room was so cozy. Off of the main house public area they have a lovely spacious deck that looks out into a grass filled meadow and onwards towards what I believe are the San Juan Mountains. The owners are very gracious and always willing to serve your needs. I had some very nice conversations with Jim and his wife Ofelia. You can tell they have a genuine passion for managing a bed-and-breakfast and enjoy servicing their guests. When we first arrived we were offered several different beverages. I was particularly impressed with the fact that they had micro brew beers on hand. Happy hour every evening was great. The breakfasts were very tasty and I always left with a satisfying feeling. I also enjoyed having 24-hour access to the hot tub which provides a similar view that you see from the main deck. I hope these folks continue this business so that I can come back again each year and enjoy their hospitality.
