Over the past few years my therapist Ellie has been unbelievably incredible through my journey of personal growth. Not only is she there for me at the drop of a hat, but I always feel like my time is valued and my thoughts are seen. Without Ellie I would still be stuck in a downward spiral of childhood trauma, and the upwards trajectory my life has taken throughout our time together would without a doubt be nowhere close to where I’m at now. Ellie is a warm-hearted, kind soul, who always comes up with creative ways to combat the problems I’m facing. She’s introduced me to art therapy, an amazing group therapy and strategies like doubling, which she always takes time out of her own schedule throughout the week to do with me. These tools have made an immense difference while working towards my goals. I’ve never met a person so dedicated to helping those of us that are lucky enough to get to work with her and I’m so beyond grateful to have met her in my time of need.

Normally I am not one to post reviews especially when they are negative, however I really feel this needs to be said and patients need to be aware. *THIS WAS NOT WITH DEREK* I was being seen here via video and at first everything was great! I was making progress and I really liked my therapist. Then she started canceling on me, saying her power was out or her internet was out and she would email me back to set up a new appt. I said no problem. Months went by and I heard nothing. I figured I just got lost in the shuffle so I emailed her saying I would still like to reschedule. She apologized and we had two more appointments. During the time between these appts I remembered some truama from my childhood that I was really struggling with. So I emailed her asking if she had anything sooner. I got no response. Then comes our next appointment and again, just minutes before our appointment she emails saying her internet went out. Again, I said no problem and asked what times she had available. A week goes by and no response. So I sent a follow up email asking to reschedule and now another week has gone by with no response. This is why I am writing this review. This is honestly incredibly unprofessional and quite frankly dangerous for patients. I understand Healthcare workers all have lives, I am also a Healthcare worker. But if you are a therapist, it is so important to be there for your patients. If I had been in active crisis, this could have ended very badly. I was having such a hard time and the one person who was supposed to be there for me, wasn't. It is very obvious I was dropped as a patient. But if your dropping a patient, you need to tell them that and tell them why. I am not sure if I said something that offended her or what, but it is incredibly unprofessional to just ignore a patient, instead of informing them, you are no longer going to be seeing them.

I worked with Derek for almost a year. I started at the age of 50 and ended before I turned 51. When we started I was a mess. I had no idea what boundaries meant or self-love. And a very short period of time I learned what both of those meant and how to live a healthy and happy life while also protecting myself. I learned to stop repeating old behaviors that kept getting me into the similar situations. He is absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend him to anyone. He knows what he's doing.

I was raised in extreme domestic violence that included a father addicted to drugs and alcohol. My pre dispositions to genetic mental illness was magnified by my childhood trauma, adolescent drug abuse, and the life that accompanies being a homeless at risk youth.I am blessed to have a intelligent strong women as a mother who brought me to my first therapist at age 7 to help me grow through what I continued to go through. With in my 35 years of therapy I grew into and out of multiple therapist. Some great, some not so great, then a few that are absolutely amazing.Derek Guerrette has been my longest standing therapist and has proven through successful results to be among the amazing. When I first seeked Derek’s assistance I needed a elevated level of therapy to help me understand how my brain works and how to navigate my life with it.When I first stepped into Derek’s virtual waiting room I felt crazy. Like my head was so damaged that it would do nothing but worsen as a barrier in life that negatively impacted my success and relationships. I was diagnosed early with co occurring mental health conditions. C-PTSD, Chronic Anxiety, ADD/ADHD, and then later mis diagnosed Bi Polar 2 to only then be re mis diagnosed Bi Polar 1 with delusional disorder.Derek helped me navigate my extreme and in depth self exploration. Through out my years of therapy with Derek he has given me the light and empowerment needed to understand my mind with such success that I was able to challenge my mis diagnosis with my medication management team and was taken off medications that negatively impacted my daily life and held me back from my maximum potential for success for over 12 years. Knowing is half the battle and I now know my true diagnosis and how my brain works.Derek has also helped with many aspects of my life as I needed guidance with advanced out of the box methods and philosophies that you don’t get with your average therapist. At the end of the day I will no longer need to search for a new therapist as Derek is a priceless piece of my life and my mental health journey whom I can lean on for support as life’s trials and tribulations fall in my path.
