The team has always exceeded my expectations and visiting the salon is like a mini vacation for me. During my last visit I saw Carsen (she has been my stylist for about a year now) and Amy (experienced stylist who recently joined team JSP) Together they expertly tackled my highlights then Amy gave me the most relaxing shampoo and scalp massage and Carsen trimmed up my overdue ends. I left feeling photoshoot ready (but instead went home to make dinner for my family…with excellent hair!) I’ve always been impressed with everything offered at JSP but I wanted to share a little love today! I highly recommend Carsen and Amy as well as the rest of the team at my favorite “me-time” escape. VERY disappointing and frustrating experience with this salon. Had gone in for a hair extension consultation 3 weeks back - that particular appointment went really well. We put in the order for the required extensions. Natasha at the front desk was very warm & welcoming. I never got any update from them throughout this week on whether the appointment is confirmed or not. I tried calling, leaving VMs but to no avail. I finally was able to get in touch with someone at the front desk via the phone & she told me she will call me back with the info - I explicitly told her to give me a call even if the extensions weren’t going to be delivered & a reschedule would likely be needed - she promised she would call back in either case and never did. I finally sent my husband to the salon on the day prior to my appointment (he works rt. across the salon) to see what was happening. Even then Natasha told him they haven’t received the extensions yet and that they would give me a call & let me know. The only message I received was at 7:30am ON THE DAY OF MY TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT from Natasha saying they still haven’t received my extensions and she will get me rescheduled. I said no worries, thank you for letting me know & to pls reschedule. It’s been a week since that communication- I have called a few times at different times of their business hours. NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE!!! I even left a VM today telling them how frustrating & disappointing this whole experience has been! & to PLEASE call me back with whatever update they may have. BUT AS EXPEXTED - NO CALL! This salon has absolutely no courtesy for their clients time or patience. This is definitely not professional! I wasted 3 weeks waiting for them to get in touch with me - gave them plenty of opportunity but nope! NEVER going there even if it’s the last place left open in Austin. This is just not acceptable behavior for a business. If I could give them 0 stars I would. They have tested my patience and wasted 3 weeks of my time! Would definitely not recommend! Less

While I was purchasing shampoo at this studio, there was a black man that decided to sit on the bench outside. I’m not sure if he was homeless or not. An employee had the audacity to call the police on him when he wasn’t doing anything. I had the Lasio smoothing treatment (I believe that’s what it’s called) done with Michelle a few weeks ago and it is AMAZING. Complete life changer. I have had other treatments done & none have been this good. My hair is extremely coarse & frizzy. After this, to “test it” I just used shampoo, no products & let it air dry & it looks better than I could ever get it after conditioner & styling it! And it feels much softer. And Michelle is amazing as well. Natasha at the front was very friendly and the salon had a great vibe & I had personally never seen the air vent system (not sure what it’s called exactly) that filters out all the fume of the treatments so there was not harsh smell & it didn’t burn my eyes like others have in the past (simply the chemicals in the air would make my eyes sting badly). I always get the Brow Trio (brow shaping, tint, and lash tint) and it makes a huge difference. I get so many compliments after a visit. They have also done my makeup for events and it's always flawless. She can even provide a tutorial for you if you need a little help in this department like I do! Last but not least, skincare is very important to me and I love the facials. They are the exclusive spot in town for Dermalinfusion and any facial services, their products that have saved my skin. You walk out looking fresh and the team is extremely knowledgeable about every type of skin and can provide expert advice on what you should add to your routine. Initially I had Hair below my waist and I asked this guy to keep below to my chest. But guess what he made a hair, which is slight below to my shoulder. I feel so lucky to have found the Janet St. Paul Studio for Hair! This salon is by far the best in Austin. After receiving a traumatic haircut from a top ranked salon in Austin, I found Janet St. Paul when I was simply looking for a blow out to hide my bad haircut. I walked into the salon to inquire about appointments and the stylist Ashley saw my hair and immediately took me under her wing. After seeing Ashley for the last 6 months, my hair has honestly never looked better. It is truly amazing what Ashley has done with my hair. She took an awful haircut and has made simple cuts every month over the last 6 months, so that my hair looks good and grows out properly while at the same time saving the hair length. Ashley also corrected my damaged hair color. At Janet St. Paul they use the Balayage technique (see examples on Pinterest) for highlights and I can’t believe how much better my hair color looks as compared to my color when I used foil highlights. With Balayage, my hair is still blonde but has more depth, and now my natural light brown hair is being used in place of the low lights that used to damage my hair. Ashley also got me on a Phyto hair treatment program which has made my hair the healthiest it has ever been, and she has spent a great deal of time teaching me blow dry styling techniques which has really improved my hair on day to day basis. Overall, this is the best salon I have ever been too, even compared to LA where there are tons of great stylists. Not only is Ashley amazing, but I see both Janet and Shannon (other stylists) do amazing hair each time I am at the salon. Everyone is so friendly at Janet St. Paul, and the salon is always very clean and relaxing. It really is tough to find a good stylist in Austin, and I can honestly say Janet St. Paul is a safe place to get one’s haircut/highlights, without fear of walking out with unwanted layers or 5 inches suddenly gone. I would never go anywhere else but here and I highly recommend Ashley and the Janet St. Paul hair salon to everyone I meet! Less
