FIVE STARS is not enough to rate the place that saved our daughter’s life. Baja Rehab (BR) was our last hope as it seemed we were certain to lose our girl, in truth BR was a miracle. For a large amount of time she was missing and not present for holidays, weddings, birthdays etc.; many sleepless nights were spent in prayer and so many waking hours spent searching for her. When she turned up, the person before us was unrecognizable, terribly broken down, and it seemed impossible she was our daughter. It was beyond reason that she was alive. She was addicted to all of the drugs, she would take anything to numb herself from pain. She desperately wanted to be well and to be free from the curse of the drugs that were destroying her, but she couldn’t do it on her own. She was in and out of rehabs; there was no possible way she could stay of her own free will. The willpower of the drugs always won her best efforts and she would relapse.Baja Rehab generously opened its doors to our girl. They told us they handled the most difficult addictions and no matter what she does, she won’t be kicked out. Our girl proved to be one of their most challenging cases, but in the end turned out to be someone they are all incredibly proud of. Located in sunny Rosarito, BR was a beautiful place for treatment and healing. BR’s exit plan for her made sense. She is transitioning well and enjoying the freedoms of being drug-free.We cannot thank BR enough for the mercy, generosity, breadth of spirit, sacrifice and care they showed our daughter and our family. The treatment and communication from the first call to admissions through my son’s stay and ultimate departure from Baja Rehab was excellent. We had been through 5 high end rehabs and this was by far the best care and communication. Absadi, Adam, Shallom, Dr Juarez, Estaban were all wonderful. However EVERYONE was excellent. They understand their patients and truly care about their recovery. I highly recommend Baja Rehab. I know it’s a difficult step but if you are reading this then you are at “that point” and waiting is running the risk we all fear.My only regret is we didn’t call sooner.

First of all, I don’t know why places like this don’t exist in the United States. My 28-year-old sister, never thinks she has a problem. She has been to at least 10 treatment centers in the last five years, she hasn’t seen her daughter in two years and was living with her boyfriend. This is the only place that would take her and keep her long enough to actually change.My mom and I came for a tour. It was recommended that we come visit first to make sure that we are comfortable and that we’ve seen how everything goes. We got to see all of the sleeping areas, the chef’s cooking, and all of the other residence. The staff is amazing. It’s almost like they are all friends. My sister overdosed for the second time five months ago and my mom and I literally brought her down and dropped her off. She thought she was going to a doctors appointment to get more drugs. It’s the only way we could get her to go anywhere. She’s literally five months sober now and she looks like a completely different human being. We come down to visit every other Friday. We even brought her daughter down to visit and it was so cool to see them together.I’m writing this review because we were nervous about Mexico and we were nervous if she would get upset because we tricked her but actually it’s the opposite. She was so grateful and still is. She was upset at first, but she is very grateful now. I just wanted to write this to say thank you to Baja rehab and also help anyone who is in this position that my family was in.

I don’t usually leave a review, but this place saved my sister‘s life. She was diagnosed by bipolar about five years ago and had been very stable with her medication. She’s not a drug addict, but started smoking THC vapes and decided she did not need medication anymore. She started having very manic episodes and going into psychosis. She was saying the strangest things. She would not take meds and she would not admit that there was anything wrong. She also would not go anywhere for help. My mom goes to Al-Anon and was referred to Baja rehab. She realized she was going to have to trick my sister into thinking she was going on a retreat, but honestly, it was life and death. My sister was upset for the first few weeks, but very quickly became stable and slowly started analyzing what happened from a sober point of mind, with the help of her psychologist and counselor. My sister spent six months there and we visited almost every Friday. The transition was night and day. My sister just celebrated a year away from THC and That’s what prompted me to write this review. The kind of boy who could turn a simple conversation about dinner into a psychological chess match. The kind of boy who didn’t just smoke weed — he made weed his entire personality. Wake and bake philosopher. Couch-based strategist. Self-appointed expert on everyone else’s flaws.Jose didn’t just get high — he would get high and then gaslight the whole family and everyone around him. He’d look you dead in the eye and say things like, “Have you ever considered that your reaction is the real problem?”My son was in his early 40’s still living at MY house—I shouldn’t have to worry about anything except that he keep things clean….seriously—I would tell him, “please take out the trash and stay out of the local bars!” He wouldn’t stop, he just wouldn’t. He would also get let go from every single job for dirty drug tests and being stoned! I was so fed up with the Cheech and Chong smoke all over the house…coming from underneath the bedroom door, stinking up the entire place and the gummies all over the countertops everywhere—my mother, Jose’s grandmother ate 2 of them thinking they were melatonin— it put her in a Mental spiral and left her in a state of psychosis for two full days.We didn’t realize how bad it had gotten until every family gathering felt like a social experiment. One of my closest friends was struggling with a severe meth addiction and truly didn’t see a way out. He was genuinely happy and deeply grateful to be given this gift of sobriety, and he accepted the help willingly and with an open heart.As his conservator, I’ve been closely involved in his recovery and have stayed in regular communication with his psychologist. I’ve been able to see his progress firsthand, and every visit reminds me how far he’s come. His physical health has improved, but even more meaningful is the clarity, stability, and sense of self that’s slowly coming back.I also want to share that I have a close friendship with one of the owners, Jessica. It’s honestly such a proud moment for our family to see Alberto reach his one-year sobriety milestone a couple days ago. If you knew his history, you’d know just how much this means, he had actually been through 17 different programs across both the U.S. and Mexico before this, and unfortunately, he always seemed to relapse pretty quickly after each one.​Everything really changed during the three months he spent at Baja Rehab. We are especially grateful to his counselor, Youssef, who really connected with him and helped him find his footing. While we know that staying sober was ultimately Alberto’s own choice and came down to his hard work, this facility was definitely the catalyst that made it all click. It gave him the safe environment he needed to finally make it stick. If you feel like you’ve exhausted all your options elsewhere, I really can't recommend this team enough.

I could never imagine we would be in such a sad situation. Our loved one had been in treatment for depression and addiction issues in the U.S. several times. Relapse after relapse. Close to over-dosing several times. Sober living. On and on. I felt hopeless and desperate. The rehab facility that was trying to help her felt she needed more than they could offer. They recommended Baja Rehab. We were afraid to contact them. We knew they were a lockdown facility in Mexico. Was it safe? (Yes). Did she really need a lockdown? (Absolutely). We finally got the courage to call them and we felt so much better after speaking with Shalom. He told us about their program and how it was different than programs in the states. He shared his past and his experiences there. Right then, he got things started. They helped with arrangements to get her there. She was detoxed and her medical needs met. She was assessed by a psychiatrist, physician, psychologists and counselors. They communicated regularly with us. They were always kind, professional and re-assuring. She stayed there for 9 months. We had weekly sessions and updates with her psychologist and any questions we had about her progress or anything -Shalom and Absadi were always available for us.The program works. Everyone speaks English. It is strict and very structured. She was very angry at first. But things started to change. She started working on herself. Seeing things differently. They were very careful to get her on correct psychiatric medications. They do not over medicate. The lockdown is necessary. She couldn’t leave when she got mad or frustrated or thought she was well and could “do it on her own.” Her brain had a chance to begin to heal from the trauma of alcohol and drugs. She got to know and learn from everyone there. Not just the professionals - the guards, the cooks, even the dog. She has started her next phase of IOP. We are very grateful to Baja Rehab.

There's so much to say---I'll just start by saying the Baja Rehab saved the life of our loved one. In doing so, they helped our family become whole again. They not only treated our loved one, but continuously stayed in touch with us to walk us through everything--before, during, and after admission. Absadi and Shalom were especially helpful, supportive, and caring. I'll never forget when Shalom told me "You're not alone." We felt so alone and helpless before we connected with Shalom and Baja Rehab. Absadi returned all our messages and calls, and reached out repeatedly to provide crucial updates about our loved one's progress--especially at the beginning when we were particularly vulnerable. Both Shalom and Absadi were very patient with us, explaining everything repeatedly and providing us with a lot of moral support. Above all, we are indebted to Joe (Jose), the therapist. He spent hours on the phone with us, even when not on duty. He even set aside time on days off to communicate with us. He cares about the people under his care, and cares about their families, knowing full well that the family is part of the healing process (and also need their own healing). I used drugs for the first time at age 15, started with marijuana turned to meth, heroin, fentanyl by the age of 19. I had no more hope for my life and no freedom to make my own decisions. I was glued to using drugs and finding means to get more. I was constantly in and out of jail, making alot of mistakes. I was stuck in the cycle of meth addiction doing the same thing everyday for 8 years never once had a detox or a day of sobriety let alone abstanance away from drugs. In may 2023 i arrived at baja rehab and they helped me get off of drugs, i went to classes, learned alot about my self and they brought light into my life taking the best care of me and always treating me with kindness and respect, and guiding me into the best direction possible. Hello, My name is Daniel I went to Baja Rehab from April to July 2025. I was expecting to be there for 1 month but I ended up staying the full 90 days. TBH the first month was rough for me. I was frustrated and wanted to leave but my family took my psychologists advice and decided I wouldn't be leaving at the 30 day mark. That was the best thing looking back at it because I was not ready yet and didn't have the clarity and understanding yet of how bad things truly got before going there. When I went in one of my rules I made was no sober living after the month lol. At about Day 60 sober living seemed like a positive not a negative. I needed to reset and reboot my thinking and have time to work things out with my family. I'm not where I want to be in life right now but im definitely not where I started which I am so grateful for. Looking back, it was difficult at times for sure but worth it. I'm in a sober living with a bunch of my friends who also went to BR which is nice because I don't feel alone in the next step of this Journey. Hope that helps anyone trying to make the hardest decision of there life. Making the decision is the hardest part. Know matter what route you go. This is what worked for me. Thanks
