Contractor Staffing Source

As the owner of a construction company, I signed up with Contractor Staffing Source after a Zoom meeting with Paul where the program was explained in detail. The service sounded very promising, and I was expecting help finding qualified applicants for a sales position we were hiring for. As a business owner, hiring the right people is critical, so I was willing to invest in a recruiting service that specializes in the construction industry. The onboarding process was smooth, and we provided all requested information, including linking our website, Indeed, and LinkedIn as instructed. I was told their system would help generate qualified applicants and reduce the amount of time we spend filtering through candidates. In practice, that was not my experience.During the first week, only a few applicants came through, and none were qualified for the position. Because of this, I decided to run a sponsored listing directly through Indeed myself, which immediately started producing stronger candidates. From that point forward, I found myself reviewing resumes, filtering applicants, scheduling calls, and directing candidates through our hiring process on my own, which was the same process I was using before signing up for the service.Communication was limited, and when emails did come through, they were mostly lists of applicants that still required us to do the screening ourselves. I did not feel there was much actual recruiting support beyond the initial setup. After about three months and roughly $4,500 spent, I did not feel the service provided the level of value that was presented during the initial call. As a business owner, every dollar matters, and when the results don’t match the expectations, it becomes difficult to maintain the same level of trust moving forward. To be fair, everyone I spoke with was polite and professional, but based on my experience, the service did not significantly improve our hiring process compared to what we were already doing on our own.I would recommend that other business owners clearly understand what level of recruiting support is included before committing.
