Omnia

If you want to send your kids to Nationals or Pan Ams, Omnia is the place for your kids to be.I was one of the older adult weightlifters here. I'm getting pretty close to being a Masters weightlifter and only have a couple of years left in Seniors class, but my experience with Paul Behar was genuinely positive.Throughout my time at Omnia, Paul was supportive, took my lifting seriously, and worked hard to help me develop my technique, strength, and confidence as an athlete, despite being bad at it in all technical aspects at the time.I even felt supported despite being well outside the age group that seems to make up a large part of the team.My criticism is much more about the adult social culture. I found some of the adult lifters pretty cliquey and difficult to connect with. I came into weightlifting looking not only to improve, but also to be part of a community where athletes encouraged and helped one another, and I didn't consistently get that feeling from the other adults here. The youth side of the gym is a completely different story. Watching those kids develop is impressive. They improve incredibly quickly, and you can tell that Paul puts serious effort into building them technically, physically, and mentally. Some of them progress to the point where they're challenging or surpassing experienced adult lifters in a surprisingly short amount of time. It's almost embarrassing, but entertaining, and ultimately, good.So my experience was mixed socially, but I have very little negative to say about Paul as a coach. He supported me during my time there, and I respect the work he puts into developing his athletes.I would recommend Omnia to adult lifters who are primarily looking for serious coaching and development, and I would especially recommend it to parents looking for a weightlifting program for their kids. Just have travel plans ready.
