Sylvia was a fantastic guide. She was so knowledgeable and her stories were full of warmth and humour. The walk was about women in medicine who were trailblazers and in Sylvia's hands it was a fascinating journey through remarkable people who transformed healthcare in London and beyond. Another superb and interesting walk which I had been looking forward to for some time and it certainly didn’t disappoint. So much information was imparted which was so interesting, and I particularly liked stress the references to Dickens.. There wasn’t a great deal of walking makes it quite accessible for those who may have mobility issues. I thoroughly recommend it However, there is one point I would like to flag up on safety. I know we are all responsible for our own safety, but at one point the guide crossed a road diagonally and this was a very busy junction. The group was not together(I was at the back) and two girls in particular followed on and were almost knocked over being stranded in the middle of the road. Again, it is up to us to manage safety issues, but it would’ve been much safer had guide crossed one road with the lights and then the other Ultimately the group had to wait as we crossed two roads safely at the lights. The guide was made aware of this and I did comment to others who were less than impressed that this is what normally happens and every effort is made to keep the group together and choose the safest option whilst crossing busy roads as safety of participants is paramount.
