Great little place to stay. The room was pretty small—there was a collapsible luggage rack but it didn't actually fit anywhere in the room!—but it was comfortable and the beds were nice. I had a pleasant stay at this bed and breakfast. The staff were very polite and friendly, the location was excellent, and the atmosphere was both clean and welcoming. I also felt safe throughout my stay, which is always important.However, I did have a few disappointments. Booking in was quick and efficient. If you are lucky enough to get a private parking space it is much cheaper than the ridiculous fees York council are charging for car parks. However our room in the back extension was newly refurbished on a contemporary theme. Maid service very basic but it is only classified a b&b. The breakfast was freshly cooked and good quality. Details said there was a residents bar but this was not well stocked either in soft or alcoholic drinks and doubled as the breakfast room. The Georgian is perfectly situated to enjoy York, we had the top floor road facing room which has been criticised on other reviews we’ve seen, particularly for road noise and poor bathroom. Well the road noise pretty much disappeared when the secondary glazing was closed and the bathroom was well set out, clean and in very good repair, no complaints here! Whatever you can say about Giorgione House, we we had nothing but good things, the outstanding feature is the hospitality. Nothing too much trouble, happy to store our cases before and after our stay.(later train). Really exceptional friendly service. We’d both happily stay again and have no hesitation recommending it. We stayed for one night on a bed only basis.... staff were friendly, bed comfortable, room clean with a small bottle of prosecco plus tea/coffee/biscuits. Just a short walk into the city. Could ask for no more. 👍... More

Brilliant location, friendly helpful staff. Clean quiet room and a beautiful breakfast. Faultless. We have visited York numerous times and accommodation can be a nightmare, but this will be our first choice from now on.
