The location is central, and the staff is friendly. However, the floors are quite noisy in my room and from the neighboring rooms. I could hear people walking and using the bathrooms throughout the night, which made it difficult to sleep well. I also found the breakfast service inefficient, as I had to wait 20 minutes for breakfast. Finally, the stairs were very narrow and inconvenient when carrying luggage.

Went to a convention at York St John Uni, and it was in the perfect location for being closeby the uni, close to food shops, and closeby the train station. Nothing was very far! Only around 20 minutes maximum. Lots of nice sights around to wander too!Staff were friendly, kind and helpful.

We were able to spend three nights at the Georgian house. Near Bootham gate is our favorite place to stay when visiting York.LOCATION- Excellent. We walked from the train station and it only took about 10 minutes.ACCOMMODATIONS- Excellent. We got a small room but it had everything we needed. Clean. Decent bed. Great bathroom. Shower was strong and hot. We arrived with summer heat so it was a tad stuffy, but a fan was available in the room.SERVICE- Allen met us and it seemed like he was always there. Very kind and knowledgeable. So nice. We got the breakfast and it was very filling. The staff were very pleasant and they seemed like an upbeat family. Worked well together.Well done Georgian house!!

Really enjoyed our stay here in July my partner booked it, we stayed in the mews and couldn’t fault it at all - the room was large, clean and had everything we needed. All of the staff we interacted with were very friendly, pleasant and helpful. Breakfast daily was a treat with so many options. Walking distance to everything you could want to see in York, with the Minster only a few minutes away. Would 100% stay here again.

Attractive property let down by the fact they scattered ant powder all along the frontage. Ant powder generally contains talc which is often contaminated with asbestos. Not something you want when trying to enjoy a holiday break. Ants are much preferable to breathing in asbestos.

A wonderful place to stay in York. So close to York Minster and within walking distance to all the attractions in York. Excellent breakfast too. I can’t recommend the Georgian House and Mews highly enough. I am from Cape Town and this is my second time staying at this well-run hotel. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place, walking distance from major attractions, including the Minster. Had a room in the back - very quiet, very clean. Staff was very friendly and allowed me to check in a bit earlier and to leave my luggage after checkout next day. Highly recommend.

Great location - easy walk to all of the sights.Room was a little dated, but very clean and nice! It was also very quiet, which was appreciated. We also used the laundry service, which was great!

It was an absolute pleasure staying at the Georgian mews. From the time of check in Allen was wonderful and could not do enough for us. Everything went smooth, the rooms were remarkably clean and well equipped. The staff in the dining room were very organised and never to much trouble to swap and change if needed on the breakfast menu. It all met our expectations and more plus Allen did something g special for my husband. The guest house is a 2 minute walk from the main town and a 10 minute walk from the train station. We stayed for one night. The room was clean and very close to the city centre. They had also left wine, coffee and milk in the room for us, which was a lovely touch. The room was quiet and peaceful. There is a small car park, which we used for free. Thank you very much for everything.

Very nice place. It was clean, and complimentary drinks and toiletries were left for us. It is only a 5 minute walk to the Minster so ideally located. Would highly recommend.
