I’ve been dealing with right knee and left hip pain for years (knee surgery in 2013, hip surgery in 2016). Even with my background in athletic training, it’s totally different when you’re the patient. I kept pushing through my lifts and workouts, getting stronger, but my pain was getting worse, not better.Like a lot of people, I’d tried everything: massage, acupuncture, multiple chiropractors, different PTs, personal training sessions. Things would feel better for a bit, but the pain always came back. A friend of mine told me about iMovie. I was very skeptical and didn’t really want to even try. I had tried everything to help the pain in my knees: Injections, physical therapy, strength building, orthoscopic surgery. I was to the point that I thought the only way to get rid of the pain I was going through, was to get a knee replacement. I am an IronMan Triathlete - 14 full Ironman and 50 + Half Ironman. A year ago I came to the depressing conclusion that I would no longer be able to race.I am also a mother and a grandmother and my knees hurt so bad that I could not carry the grandkids or go hiking with my kids.Because my friend was so adamant that I-moved could help me, I went to go see them. At first, I was not sold on it. I thought it was just a bunch more propaganda to add to everything else I’ve tried.After meeting and extensively talking with Dr Ali and Dr Dan, I decided to give myself one more chance to avoid a total knee replacement. I have only had eight sessions with them and I can honestly and literally notice a huge difference already. It surprised me a couple weeks ago, to realized that for the first time in over a year, I was not stopping at every step to change feet, as I carried a large basket of laundry down the stairs. In 2024 and 2025 I went through a double hip replacement. I have suffered from low back pain for decades- scoliosis complicated by a nerve injury. Over the years I have tried so many modalities — physical therapy, massage, chiropractics, acupuncture. They were all helpful to some extent, but all were temporary and the pain would inevitably return. That is, until I came to Dr. Dan at I.Move. It is a truly magic combination of manual manipulation, chiropractic care and strength training provided in each session, guided by a compassionate and knowledgeable provider. It has been truly transformative for me- not only is my pain greatly reduced, but I have been able to greatly progress my athletic potential. The help I have received at I.MOVE is nothing short of amazing. Not only have they treated and solved several physical issues for me, but they have taught me about my movement patterns and I have a better understanding of the types of movements to use when small issues come up.I came in to I.MOVE for nerve pain/sciatica related to a herniated disc. I had previous surgery, which resolved the issue for about a year, but the pain came back after I began to re-start exercise.Dr. Dann and Dr. Dave were able to resolve my issue with some very easy to do exercises and the nerve pain resolved. Not only did they provide a PT plan they explained why I was having the pain and taught me other life style tweaks which I was able to incorporate into my daily life and exercise.I've been able to continue power lifting and have started running. Whenever a new issue crops up, I know I have caring and knowledgeable providers to support me.

When I came to I.Move I was dealing with multiple chronic and acute issues with multiple joints. My goal was to regain range of motion and stability in my right shoulder to 1. Avoid surgery(I had had multiple corticosteroid injections in the Acromial, bursa And guided injections into the bicep tendon)2. Be able to continue working out into old age.I was also dealing with an acute groin injury, but also a history of chronic groin injuries, and Chronic issue with my lower back and hip.I have many decades of being under The care of chiropractors for different issues, but with these issues, I just was not getting the relief or improvement that I desired. I was looking for something along the lines of functional chiropractics when I found out about I. Move.My initial assessment and appointment was with Dr. David And I have been under his care since.It’s hard to describe exactly what they do. Each appointment is a full hour and is a combination of chiropractic and PT with Different soft tissue and movement therapies.A lot of the exercises I have been given are deceptively simple yet very hard. But in a few months. Have been able to regain most of the range of motion in my in my shoulder & regained most of the strength I was lacking with external rotation. My groin injuries have healed, and I have been given tools to be able to prevent them in the future. My low back which has been nagging me pretty constantly for a couple years Is finally mostly pain-free and I have learned how to stop a flareup before it gets bad.I can get through workouts now without being in pain or fear of injury. I worked with Dr David through an old labral tear, hamstring tendonopathy and hypermobility on my right hip. These issues had prevented me from doing things like squatting, going on hikes, and driving longer than 30 minutes. Dr David determined the source of my ailments and supplied the programming and knowledge to address them with. Although the task of recovery is a great deal of work, I Move fulfills their promise to alleviate pain after the first session. This is a place where the therapists truly care how you are feeling, and if I had any advice to give a new patient, I would recommend keeping a journal of progress and sensations. These are clues that will improve recovery. After my months with I Move, I am adding weight to squats and planning long hikes east of the cascades.

As a health professional and recreational athlete, I have struggled to find care providers that identify & treat the root cause of pain. As someone who was "doing all of the right things" and suffering with nasty hip pain & sciatica for 5+ years in my 20s, I started to feel hopeless that my injury would improve. Before seeing Dr. Dann, I was told by multiple doctors, PTs, chiropractors, and massage therapists that I should stop running and slow down with sports.
