I have had such a great experience at Gentle Birth Center so far! Our tour of the center was very thorough and we had ample time to ask Christina all of our questions. Lastly, Suzane Bacelar, the photographer for the birth center, is so great to work with. She took video and photos of our last baby and they turned out so beautifully! At the end of attending the birthing class there, I hemorrhaged and ended up having to go to the hospital for an emergency c-section at 35 weeks 2 days. I never labored or used the facilities at Gentle Birth. After experiencing a traumatic birth and NICU stay for my son, my husband and I were slightly less burdened by the refund that we were hoping to receive to put towards the large hospital bills that we now have. After reaching out to Gentle Birth I was informed that we would not be getting a refund (after we were told that we would if a situation occurred like ours) but that we could use the almost $6,000 we paid towards birthing there towards our next birth but it would have to be a home birth… This is a ridiculous policy considering that they do not know if I plan to have more children or not, or if I feel safe birthing outside of a hospital setting, let alone at home after my experience. Last point to add is that my midwife was absolutely phenomenal but is no longer with Gentle Birth, for reasons I am uncertain of but can do a good job at guessing why. Please read this warning and weigh your options well before giving this business your trust and money! Less

It made “Congratulations New Mommy” time turn into really intimate family time; we got to bond with the baby privately. Nothing. I emailed back August 5th any updates? She says they sent it to the wrong place and didn't do the self pay. She said don't worry about the original we will get it adjusted. August 13, Sept 14, Sept 26 nothing. Didn't approve the bloodwork, sent it to the wrong place and now I have a $1800+ bill. Their patient bill of rights "payment has been made based on your signed agreement for services chosen" obviously isn't correct. If you are insurance and don't mind a bill maybe it's a good place. I called again, they said they never received it so she’s asked for my midwife’s phone number and that she’d call me right back- no call back. I called a final SIXTH time for someone else to tell me they don’t offer that for non patients even though I’ve been there before. Go somewhere else. Avoid this place like the plague. This is NOT a reflection on the midwives themselves, who are absolutely wonderful. The rest of the practice and the owner are awful - almost criminal. I was scheduled to give birth here in March 2023. My whole experience up to the birth was horrendous. First, I signed up for a package with a bunch of benefits - for which they had NO idea how to fulfill. I purchased a pregnancy nutrition consultation, which they ended up folding into their classes that you couldn't do until 28 weeks. It was one page of information directly from the government website that I could have printed out myself. I was supposedly charged a couple hundred dollars of value for that. There was no consultation and it was the END of my pregnancy. I also purchased yoga classes. The classes were scheduled so infrequently, you couldn't take them. The one class I did go to, I was the only one there and the instructor lectured me about a book she read for 30 mins, and then put me in downward dog for 10 minutes and that was "class." My husband could have taught it better. They also tried to push a ton of other things on me, which I declined that were just scams. Their birth classes themselves were not great. One of the instructors was actually useful and helpful, but the other one was terrible. She just sat there and made us watch youtube videos and lectured us on things that were so obvious and again, could just be learned by printing out flyers. Not to mention how hard they were to schedule. They were so infrequent, one of them I couldn't even schedule until 39 weeks - 5 days before I went in to labor. At that point, we had done all of our own research. I also had a really weird run in with the owner when I was waiting for a class. We were sitting in the lobby and he was bragging about how he had a friend that had a house near or in the aero club and he was planning to bring illegals here to birth (medical immigration), so they could fast track their immigration. And he was bragging about how much money he was going to make from it. Honestly, it made me so uncomfortable and was so gross. Then there's the appointments themselves. They have NO infrastructure at the new facility whatsoever, so they sent me up to their Palm Beach location where I had to wait over an hour for outdated ultrasounds while cockroaches (yes, literally), climbed all over the floor. It was absolutely disgusting. Then, I had blood drawn at one appointment and the nurse forgot a couple of vials, so I had to go back. They were closed at the new facility and wanted me to drive up to palm beach, I couldn't and the blood work had to happen so their marketing director (who isn't a nurse), took my blood. Seriously. When it came to the actual birth, I ended up having to transfer to the hospital (definitely not their fault). But after my birth, I was COMPLETELY abandoned. They promised they had an OBGYN on staff, but when I went to make an appointment with her to look at my stitches from my birth, they made me drive to MIAMI (1.5 hours with a 4 week old!!). That office was even worse than the one in Palm Beach. It was absolutely disgusting - I'm pretty sure just an abortion clinic. And their "obgyn" was rude and honestly mean about the whole situation. I then was supposed to get in to see her again and they just stopped responding to calls or texts from me to make an appointment. Complete medical abandonment. I never even had my 6 week post-birth visit. This place was a total rip off. It's not a birth center. It's a highly medicalized place who is just out for money. They are unorganized and awful and dirty. Do not go here under any circumstances. Less

Unfortunately my wife's dream of birthing here has turned into an absolute nightmare for us. We paid thousands of dollars out of pocket, as well as our insurance (BCBS) copays and classes. The total ended up being over $5,000.00. My wife was diagnosed outside of Gentle Birth Center for a blood disorder that risked her out of being able to give birth here (around the 5th month of pregnancy). Back in November 2023, we were told that we would receive a refund ($2k) for the amount we paid for the birth itself, since they could not provide that service. It is now February 2024 (4 months later) and we continue to get the run around by the owner, Nelson Posada, for the refund for services not rendered. I will be filing in Royal Palm Beach County against Gentle Birth Center LLC. in hopes we are able to get our money back. This is unbelievable. I want all the parents-to-be to understand the risk of financial loss when considering this birthing center. You should not have to worry like we have since dealing with them, when you're trying to bring a child into this world. There are other birthing centers, I would take a closer look at them and avoid this place. Less

I am so thankful that Gentle Birth Center in Royal Palm exists! I was looking for a happy medium of safe, clean and professional but also cozy, relaxed and holistic! I found all of that here. I received all my prenatal care with Erika and birthed here with her as well. My experience from the first day I walked in was amazing, all the staff are so nice and helpful. Christina was the first person I talked to and she was so kind and knowledgeable throughout the whole process (April— November) She also gave me and my husband a tour and walked us through everything of what my care and birth would look like, we loved the birthing rooms and how updated and cozy they were with the birthing tubs and dim lighting! From there I started having appointments with midwife Erika, and wow… me and my husband absolutely adored her and really appreciated her time and knowledge throughout our entire pre natal care, we always felt so valued and NEVER rushed. There is so much i can say about her but ultimately she was amazing and I couldn’t have chose someone better to be apart and of my birthing experience. Every appointment felt like talking to a friend. I labored for about 12ish hours at the center and I unfortunately didn’t get to birth my baby there but the entire time I was in labor I felt completely safe in Brandis care. When I ended up choosing to transfer to the hospital due to slow progression and feeling physically and emotionally spent she reassured me that I hadn’t failed and I was strong when I wasn’t feeling very strong at the time. She came with me to the hospital and stayed up until my baby boy was born. So while my birth didn’t go exactly how I imagined or wished I am forever grateful for how caring and comforting Brandi was for the birth of my first baby. I came in and had my first appointment with Midwife Erika and she was so sweet, so kind and spent the time with me that I hoped for seeing as I had a lot of questions that first time moms usually do have and she didn't rush me out the door. She made me feel at home, comfortable and not stupid for asking the "stupid" questions. I then met with Christina the birth center director and she gave me a tour of the facility which is beautiful, she as well was very nice and understanding, took her time with me to go over everything that they offer. I even was able to speak to Michelle the biller because I had some additional billing questions and she was able to answer them right away. When I went into labor it was not scary and the best experience I could have imagined, all of the providers and staff there treated me with respect and honored my birthing plan. My husband and I had the best experience at Gentle Birth Center. I started seeing Erika when I was 10 weeks pregnant and she always made me feel so confident. At first I saw an OB and their perspective was reactive instead of proactive. For example, my mom had preeclampsia so it was important to me to ask about it. The OB (completely different practice) told me that if I showed signs I would take baby aspirin, whereas Erika at Gentle Birth told me ways I could try to prevent it before we even saw signs. I loved this approach to prenatal care. I much preferred to create a healthy environment for my growing baby vs try to “fix” problems as they occurred. Erika quickly developed a relationship with me as well. She would ask about my family and I could tell she truly cared about us. Fast forward to when I was in labor Erika was diligent, so incredibly knowledgeable, calm, and a true saint. I labored into the night and had my baby at 2:22am. Erika was zoned in and so dedicated to every step of my labor/delivery. There were complications and Erika responded with diligence and grace. She remained calm and focused which allowed my husband and I to do the same. I also had Bonnie from Coastal Doulas on my birth team and Erika worked with her flawlessly. I could not be more thankful for Erika and GBC! My baby is now almost 2 months old, happy, and healthy thanks to my prenatal care, labor/delivery, and postnatal care with GBC! Less

Gentle birth center …. So much to say, such little time. I brag about this center nonstop to anyone who is willing to listen lol. As a first time mama, giving birth to my daughter here was such a blessing. Thanks to the amazing staff and the incredible midwives Erika and Carissa; I was fortunate enough to have the birth of my dreams. The abundance of knowledge Erika has is just astounding and she is so caring, down to earth, and as raw and real as they come. She tells it how it is and if there is a problem she finds a solution. Mar, Mariana & Christina are also amazing, understanding, and always willing to help. The center staff is efficient and handles everything in a timely manner - from office visits to lab work. My daughter was born June 2023 and I began receiving my prenatal care in January 2023. From the first day I met Christina I was very impressed with her bubbly personality and honesty. This was very important and refreshing to me as I had just fired my OBGYN for wanting me to sign an arbitration agreement waiving me of my rights in order for her to keep seeing me and being lied to by the office manager. I knew from the moment I became pregnant that the traditional OBGYN route was not what I wanted, I wanted an unmedicated and natural birth, but there aren’t many options for birthing centers. I visited a few in palm beach county and Stuart and I just did not get that feeling of “this is it” from any of them; they were actually all a disappointment. Once I found GBC I called to schedule an appointment and Christina was on vacation. I waited two weeks and figured I had no choice but to go the traditional route and I was devastated. I then received a call from Christina apologizing for getting back to me so late as she was on vacation (this was all during the Christmas/new year season so it’s understandable people would take time off) and was catching up with call backs, I was thrilled ! I scheduled my visit of the birth center and that same day I said yes and signed to receive my prenatal care there and give birth there ! I finally got my “this is it” feeling. I immediately called my husband to tell him the exciting news and he was relieved ! I wanted to be in control of my birth and Gentle Birth Center gave me that control and for that I am eternally grateful. Going to my final appointment (babies 8 week check up) was extremely bittersweet for me as these ladies had become like family and saying goodbye (for now as I hope to give birth to all my children here) made me very emotional. I was fortunate enough to go into labor on a Saturday and have the center to myself lol. Erika’s expertise kicked in and sent me home to get some rest and food as my labor had stalled, my water hadn’t broken and babies vitals were perfect. So off we went, I showered, slept for 4 hours since I hadn’t slept the night before and ate. While I was eating my water broke, so I messaged Erika and was back at the birthing center at 8pm and baby girl was born at 1am. They were equipped with everything needed to handle my bleeding, and tears. I can’t recommend this center enough to women wanting a physiological birth and I am so grateful to whoever realized how much centers like this are needed and making it happen. We loved that Gentle Birth Center was able to provide the blood work, the ultrasounds, massages, yoga, provide doula refereces, and birthing classes all in one place. We loved that we had the opportunity to choose our own room for her to birth in, bring items to make the room as comfortable as possible, and that there was the option for the water birth. I’m so happy I found GBC. From the amazing staff to the coziness of the facility, I felt right at home from the get go. Erika, my midwife, was one of the kindest people I have ever met. She is so knowledgeable and she made me feel so safe with her. Unfortunately I needed to be transferred to the hospital for a c-section. After laboring for 6 hours at the center, my sons heart rate began to drop. Erika acted quickly and did everything in her power to keep my son alive, which included calling the ambulance the second she saw things taking a turn. She followed me to the hospital to ensure baby and myself were okay. I truly believe she saved my sons life that day. During office visits, I was seen promptly and vitals/samples/etc. were taken efficiently, but I never felt rushed. Most of the time at each appointment was spent with my midwife, Erika, who was the perfect mix of professional, knowledgeable, and caring. She was prepared for each of my visits with detailed, personalized information, but also allowed plenty of time for discussion and questions. The educational classes, yoga, and massages offered as part of the birth center package were a highlight of my pregnancy. The educational classes helped me feel prepared for the key aspects of having a child (labor and delivery, breastfeeding, and newborn care) and allowed me to get to know other parents planning to give birth at Gentle Birth Center. The massages were simply amazing, especially during the third trimester. My labor and delivery experience ended up being somewhat crazy; suffice it to say things progressed very quickly, very early in the morning. However, Erika and Christina were prepared, ensured that my daughter was born safely, and then gave us space and time for bonding after her birth. My only regret is that I didn’t have time to experience the birthing tub! My favorite thing about this place is the staff. They are INCREDIBLE. So amazing, in fact, I’m sad about giving birth any day now and not seeing them as often as I do. They have taken me in and treated me like family from start to finish. From Nelson (the personable and caring owner) to Christina (the bright faced girl who wears lots of hats around there), to Mar (the always smiling and friendly clinical assistant), to Renata (the best masseuse, ever.), to Erika (the AMAZING midwife that I prayed for and never want to let go of). I couldn’t be more excited to have a baby there and have these people by my side for it. The center is clean, cozy, and has so much to offer. I feel safe knowing the level of attention each person puts into their job, the facility is fully prepared for any circumstance, plus, it’s so close to Palm’s West which put my mind at rest. One thing that really drew me to Gentle Birth was that I loved being able to have appointments, including my bloodwork and ultrasounds, attend yoga, get a massage, and take birth courses all at one location. It made taking off work much easier (especially when I could squeeze in a massage before or after my prenatal appointment). I always felt special when going there because it’s more than just a birthing center, it truly became somewhere I felt so comfortable at- everyone knew me, I could call and they’d know exactly who they were speaking to, I could walk freely around the facility and sit it in the birth rooms whenever I wanted to feel them out a bit more before I gave birth to get more acquainted with them, I had my own shelf in the fridge with my food and drinks prior to labor, and so much more. This is the type of place I could only dream of being at for having my first child and doing so naturally, specifically because of the warmness that fills it. If you are looking for a truly amazing birth center to not only have your baby at, but a place that will shower you with support, love, a huge array of services, and genuinely caring people, this is the place to go. I will absolutely be coming back and can’t wait to see the upgrades and changes. I’ll miss them in the meantime! Less

Just gave birth here this morning and had a magical experience! Much of that can of course be attributed to my amazing birth team and the good fortune of having a healthy, relatively low risk pregnancy. However, the Gentle Birth Center itself deserves credit, too. Everything was fresh and clean, and the proximity to Palms West helped put my mind at ease that we’d quickly be able to get medical attention in any emergency event. We had 7 adults in our group (counting our midwives) which might be too many under normal circumstances, but with nobody else in labor while we were there, we had more than ample space to enjoy. I took advantage of the shower, the birth pool, and even the serene space just outside where crickets chirped under the stars. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gentle Birth Center to anyone who is a good candidate for out-of-hospital birth and prefers a birth center. Plus, I think Christina at the front desk is wonderful! I wish I could hang out there all day and listen to her sweet southern accent! Thank you, Gentle Birth Center, for giving my family such a positive place for welcoming our newest member! Less

This is my first pregnancy and i definitely regret coming here, when they first opened up i did a tour and thought it was very house warming and nice, they made you feel welcomed but when i made my first appointment which is going to be my last they were very unprofessional i have full covered insurance and you have to pay $25 for blood work, im a new mom so i was confused about a lot of things and nobody was willing to explain or help me, theirs no ultra sound area in there which they said they did have, their very low staff, when i walked in there the doctor was talking to another person about a patient which really threw me off because everything supposed to be personal, that was my first red flag and knew i wouldn’t come back bc what if that was me. You supposed to have a trustworthy and comfortable doctor but that’s not how that office is , i give this office a 0/10 my honest opinion, their staff is horrible. Less

Royal palm facility is beautiful but there is not currently enough staffing or equipment to have your actual ultrasound/OB appointments there or use the amenities so you must go to west palm beach. WPB is older facility, dirty, outdated equipment and low quality ultrasound, they make you and children in office wear a mask even though the midwife doesn’t wear one the entire time. The insurance department told me my insurance was in network with them for full coverage which I called multiple times to confirm before being seen and I found out after an appointment it was not even covered. I was in the process of transferring care from my normal OB to this office so that I could do the water-birth experience through the Royal palm facility where I was told after my first appointment with them I actually couldn’t be guaranteed day of delivery based on staffing and may have to go to hospital last minute to deliver finding out while already being in labor. They called me to tell me I was high risk because I was on diabetes medication and my last baby was 9.5 lbs… both of which are completely incorrect. I am taking diclegis for nausea/vomiting (a pregnancy safe prescription) nothing to do with diabetes which I do not and have never had. I told them I could easily come off of diclegis if that was an issue and that my last baby was exactly 8 lbs not 9.5 lbs so I was confused why I was deemed high risk. They agreed to do an ultrasound to give me the final OK. My ultrasound (of very poor quality) deemed me “high risk” yet again because the ultrasound tech estimated my baby at 33 wks gestation to already be over 5 and a half pounds and said I would have an almost 11 lb baby. My ultrasound 2 weeks prior at previous facility was exactly 3lbs… baby didn’t gain almost 3 lbs in two weeks. So This makes me “ineligible” for a water birth or the birthing center in Royal palm just based on an ultrasound weight estimate. So I was dropped as a birthing center candidate. However my previous 2 babies were estimated to be large and came out at 8 lbs which I informed the facility of and they did not care and still denied me. I had questions regarding the denial so I could find another facility and they stopped responding to me altogether. I have several friends who have delivered at similar facilities or from home with over 8 lb babies no problem and were never told no based on an ultrasound measurement. I’m disappointed to say the least that I was turned down on my dream natural labor and delivery for my final pregnancy based on the fact that my baby “might” be big and couldn’t get clear communication. I’ve had two healthy safe previous deliveries, I’m young, perfect vitals, no medical conditions whatsoever and no complications at birth. This process at this facility overall was unappealing and doesn’t seem very organized, consistent or up to date. Another red flag, when I first entered the ultrasound there meeting the tech for the first time she asked me why I was there and when I explained to her to get approval to transfer, she told me I should stay with Obgyn specialists (my previous doctor) because they were better… not professional and also not something to tell an optimistic new patient excited about a switch unless you know reasons they don’t know… Less

We are pregnant with our first baby, and I've been struggling trying to not only find an midwife, but an office that I feel comfortable in. Being in Loxahatchee, not many options for birth centers are in close radius. I called first thing Monday and had spoke to Deborah who sounded like the light I needed after having not so good experiences speaking to other offices and birth centers. My husband and I came for the tour and we were beyond pleased with the facility. It's new and clean, and the birth tubs aren't inflated pools that you normally see being used. (It helped selling the idea of a birth center to my husband). The whole office feels home-y, and it's an amazing idea that it's also MD-ran with an OB on one half of the facility and the birthing center on the other. Our Midwife, Linda, is just amazing. She is funny, great personality, and we connected very well! She is so well informed and made us beyond comfortable during our first visit. We walked out of the office literally laughing our "See you laters" because the whole environment is just that great. The facility is 2 miles away from Palms West and they are contacted with the hospital as well, which made us feel very comfortable. They welcome all questions, and encourage to write down any questions you may have for the next visit. I have never been more in love with a medical office, and this facility has made both my husband and I through the moon about our journey with this pregnancy! Less
