So happy I discovered this place, hands down the best chiropractic experience I’ve ever had and already feeling so much better within a few visits.

Discovered Capitol Rehab of Arlington on a Google search. Reviews were great and it lived up to expectations. Received both a massage and chiropractic adjustment on my visit. Rita did a great job on the massage but I must warn… its not for the weak. #BonusPoints The place smells good and very clean.

I can't rave enough about this practice, and in particular Lauren Shaub.I found out late last year that my cholesterol and blood pressure were WAY too high, and I needed to get really serious about exercise for cardio health. For reference, I'm 44, and I've previously been in good shape in my life - but that was >10 years ago. So I when I started to run I expected to have trouble other than the cardio fitness aspects - and I was very wrong. I immediately developed abnormal knee, calf and ankle pain from running, and found it to be a major limiting factor in my ability to get the exercise I needed. A friend of mine referred me to Lauren.
I will state I had preconceived notions about physical therapists being glorified personal trainers from a gym, or just a specialist for after major surgeries, so I was reticent. I want to address these notions up front, because I presume others out there might share my skepticism. I saw various initials after her name but never really looked into them. Well, she's a DPT - that means Doctor of Physical Therapy. It's not just a certification from a one week training program and pass a test. This certainly implies numerous courses very specifically focused on the human body - very, very far from a "glorified personal trainer".
5 minutes into my first appointment with her, when I described the pain I was having, Lauren had identified my issue as a lack of core (hips, abs, lower back) strength. As she described it, these muscle areas provide stability to the body - if they are not strong enough, then while running the lower legs are having to absorb the brunt of the activity AND with lack of support elsewhere in the body they are incapable of doing so safely. I would never have guessed that muscles several joints and bones away would have such impact on running.
She gave me a series of 7 exercises - no weights, just movement based, 10-15 minutes a day, to focus on strengthening core muscles. I'll say after my first appointment, having gone through the exercises with her, I was aching in areas where I didn't even know muscles existed. Within a week of starting this routine I was able to get back out and run near daily without the lower leg pain.
I have continued to see Lauren on a monthly or so basis to start incorporating additional exercises, adding in new muscle groups and new exercises on the original core concerned muscles to add increased "load" and difficulty for continued growth and strengthening.
So, yeah ... if you need to undertake a new exercise regimen, address nagging body pain, or recover from something, go see Lauren to AVOID injury, don't wait until you hurt yourself. And don't be me.

Been a patient of Dr Hatch for years. Couldn’t be happier working with him or with Capitol rehab as a whole
