If you have just completed a Mount Kinabalu climb, a visit to Eden Reflexology Centre might be a much needed step to help with your post-hike recovery. The weather on my climb was rainy, foggy and cold. This made the descent especially tiring and my muscles were very sore by the time I arrived back at the trail head. I made an appointment via their website site and visited Eden the next day for a sports massage and foot massage. Upon arrival, the team at Eden were very welcoming. The lady at reception spoke English and clearly explained the package, therapy options and prices in a transparent manner. I was given the option of either a male or female masseuse. The premises were clean and cosy.I ended up going with a male masseuse, Lan. He didn’t speak much English, but the receptionist gave him a briefing to explain my needs. This briefing didn’t take long. Post-mountain muscular pain seems to be a common complaint with which the staff at Eden are very familiar. Lan was also able to expertly diagnose which muscles were sore and in need of some therapy. He took great care not to overstretch muscles which were too tight or tender.On the whole, my experience at Eden was very positive and I felt much better after the massage and another night’s sleep. I’d recommend hikers consider getting a massage at Eden after a Kinabalu climb.

I had the 2 hour lymphatic drainage massage. I had swollen ankles and knees due in part to injury but mostly due to a 20 hour flight to get here. The massage was very relaxing and I immediately saw a reduction in swelling and felt much more comfortable afterwards. The therapist was professional and I would rate this as the best full body massage I have had anywhere. Would definately recommend.
